Mojito
Meridith H.

We ate there last night, which was a monday. We sat at the bar. Our bartender Shay was great and her drinks were well balanced and so tasty. Her service and drinks 5 star. I had the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, my dining partner had spaghetti and we took home a dish to go that we dropped off to our son that was lasagna, ravioli and Rigatoni. The food tasted really good but unfortunately all 3 of us got violently ill. We are positive it was the food because we don't live together for it to have been a bug. We ate our food in the restaurant from 5-6 pm. We got sick after midnight. Our son ate his food after he got off work at 6 am this morning and he is now getting sick, same symptoms, both ends. I'd go back and just have a drink made by Shay but we will unfortunately pass on the food.

The food was very tasty and big portions! We enjoyed both pasta dishes we ordered, very flavorful. I wish the pasta was served a bit al dente. It was a little over cooked but the sauce and chicken was delish. The decor is lacking but the food was great!

What a yummy home feel Italian restaurant. Definitely has a NYC feel from the minute you walk in. The atmosphere is casual and just the right size of booths, tables and a very impressive bar area. Onto the food. The Ceasars salad was not overwhelmed with dressing and allowed the lettuce and croutons do the flavor work. Then, the New Zeland mussels in a white garlic sauce were awesome. So much flavor and a very nice portion size. I got full halfway through eating my meatballs so got a box to go. They are so fresh with the fresh mozzarella and sauce with veggies. Mama Mia and Yummy all around.

Just like my grandmas neighbor fresh off the boat used to make. The Italian platter is a lot of food but very very good. The sauce makes it. The Giovanni w sausage and chicken was excellent and very rich. The garlic bread is not to be missed.

Pasta Giovanni + Chicken Parmesan

ABSOLUTELY one of the best pasta dishes I have eaten in YEARS!! Everything was ON POINT... The sauce in the Pasta Giovanni is indescribable = YOU HAVE TO TRY IT YOURSELF!! The service was friendly, quick & professional! Ambiance was casual & relaxing! Looking forward to coming back & making my way through this ENTIRE menu

Fresh tasting seafood

When Times Square was on Union Hills, it was a favorite, so we decided to try the Deer Valley version. We were not disappointed. It's not very big and the décor is not very memorable, but the food is. My chicken was moist and delicious. My husband's seafood was varied and tasted fresh. There is a lengthy menu, and portions are large (I took home half) . Watching the steaming plates come out of the kitchen gave us ideas of what to order on our next visit. It was loud. It was busy. Service was great, and so was the food. My chicken was just as good the next day when I reheated it for lunch. Good food. Good prices. There is something on the menu to please even the pickiest.

TS has been here for 20 years according to our server. We were lucky enough to find it after a movie nearby. Glad we did pizza was fantastic, so was the chicken parm! Great service, friendly atmosphere, food to keep coming back for.

I went to this place on a whim looking at some of the reviews. I found the place to be fairly small and seating was very limited. Staff was generally nice and welcoming. The food was okay. Most of the stuff had spicy taste to it. I was looking for a little bit more body in the sauce that they have on their pasta.

The few times i've been here the food has always been consistently good (especially the pasta - their sauces are so good!) But the service is always even better. Great local Italian place in the area :)

Yummy food, ambiance is classic and staff is very attentive. Their take out pizza and antipasto salon are my favorite!

Very delicious and autentic stuff. Maybe not the most respectful service, a bit loud and uneducated, but the food is great.

Ask the Community - Times Square – Deer Valley

Can I order food please?

Yes.

Do you have gluten free pasta?

Yes they do offer GF

Are they wearing masks and social distancing?

Not yesterday, just good food .

Do they sell wine and or do they have a corking fee?

They do offer wine, but mostly unimpressive California wines. Disappointing selection of Italian wines for an Italian restaurant. I go for the super-fresh sauces and the variety of dishes, not for the wine.

We were greeted by the kindest gentleman at the door, who helped us to our seats and made us feel welcome right away. Then we met Lisa--a Jersey girl with Arizona in her heart! What a sweetheart. We laughed so much with her, and she made us feel like we'd known her for years. Honestly, we couldn't have imagined a better evening with her looking after us. Ask for her section if you go, and don't be shy about asking her for recommendations! The food was fresh and so delicious, and the portions were big! We shared the calamari, a side salad and lasagna, then finished with Italian cookies, tiramisu and a latte. Definitely consider sharing, and save room for dessert! We loved the food, the atmosphere and how welcome everyone made us feel. We've already been telling people to visit and ask for Lisa! Lisa, thank you for all the laughs and for making our night so special. The Sicilian Butcher is lucky to have you. We've fallen in love with Arizona, and this evening was one of the reasons why. Until we meet again!

The service was good, however, I ordered the Ceasar Salad and Margherita Pizza for lunch. The lettuce in the salad was bitter and on the verge of turning yellow, the pizza was good, presentation could be better. The staff was courteous to oblige and correct the issue. Bakery side is lovely, Cannoli's are my favorite and they were scrumptious. Overall, it is a beautiful atmosphere, service was good, food could better for the price. I do plan on returning to the restaurant and bakery to try other menu items.

After looking over the menu, we started off with Francesco's frittura to share. This dish tasted fine, nothing outstanding. For our main entrees we ordered the brown butter seared scallops with sweet corn risotto and the shrimp fradiavolo. Both of these entrees were outstanding in their own respect. The risotto was subtly sweet and not heavy or rich. Additionally, the scallops were nicely seasoned and not overcooked. The shrimp fradiavolo was mildly spicy and the spaghetti was perfectly al dente. Since we always have room for dessert, we ordered the tiramisu to share. It was nice and fluffy, and not too sweet, which we prefer. Overall, service was friendly, patient, and attentive. The ambiance was comfortable and intimate with lots of indoor seating and some outdoor patio seating. I highly recommend making reservations in advance if you plan on coming here. After our great experience, we will definitely be back to try out some of their other dishes!

And now that I've written a review for OpenTable, I'll share it here on Yelp as well. We were looking forward to dining at The Italian Daughter, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing and pricey first experience. We arrived at 5:57 PM for our 6 PM reservation, but weren't seated until 6:17 PM, so right out of the gate it wasn't the most welcoming start to our evening. After our wait, we were seated at probably the worst table, right off the bar and next to the server's main walkway. The restaurant was crowded and loud, to where it was difficult to have a conversation. Food: My husband ordered Ciippino and liked it. I ordered the beet salad and the braised beef short ribs, which unfortunately were not good. I order beet salads often, and this one was definitely not up to par with others I've had. The beets were way too thin and watery, with little flavor. My short ribs were disappointing as well. The meat was overly soft and mushy, like the ribs were overcooked and had broken down, instead of that rich, fall apart tenderness you'd expect. Service: Our waiter was nice, but the service was slow. Our salads took quite awhile to come out, and after we were finished, our empty salad plates sat on the table for quite some time. We then waited for over 35 minutes for our entrees! In the meantime, we ordered another round of drinks, which also took too long. After dinner, our waiter never asked if we wanted dessert or after-dinner drinks. By the time he came back to check on us, our entree plates had already been cleared 10-15 min earlier, so we just asked for the check and headed out. We invited friends who had eaten there before and told us how great it was. They were also just as disappointed and said they had never experienced it like this. I'm not sure I'll return. If it had just been an off night with the kitchen running behind, that's one thing, but my food just wasn't good.

I don't know why the other locations don't offer this as an option. Im not sure when they changed their Italian Farm salad to the Italian Cobb Salad but its very similar and still delicious and refreshing. This has some zucchini, green olives, sun dried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, salami of a couple sorts, different cheeses, pistachio mortadella, mixed greens and oregano vinaigrette. I always go for the Roasted Salmon as it's a perfect balance of colors and taste. There were mixed in cauliflower and a bit of broccolini. I would definitely love to have more broccolini though. I ordered this as part of the summer menu which it comes with a choice of their daily soup (which was a creamy chicken soup on a Saturday), Sicilian meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Simple Salad or Charcuterie plate. I went with the charcuterie plate which had a array of foccicia bread, pitted green olives in an olive mix of rosemary or thyme theme taste, sweetened figs over a soft cheese spread, pecorino cheese I think, candied nuts, a jalapeño forward pickled veggies such as carrots, cauliflower, prosciutto, speck (another type of prosciutto). Other dishes were kids Alfredo pasta, Margherita pizza and the ricotta cavatelli which has lump crab meat and shrimp, mint and lemon olive. Our server was absolutely 100 percent as well as the rest of the staff. This place used to do valet but when we came for lunch there was no valet which I appreciated as the lot is just a regular private parking. This still has the same set up as it was 10 years ago or so with the barnyard type of structure and an open kitchen. Oh how I missed coming to this specific location. I'm ready to eat here again!

First off, this place is in a beautiful area. I was with 2 of my buddies but this place was the percect date night vibe. The scenary was very soft and "southern". It had that "aesthetic" vibe, great for pictures etc. The restaurant is one of a kind and beautiful inside. The booths are very comfortable. My server was extremely polite and attentive, along with knowledgeable. She didn't have the answer to one question I had, so like any good server, she found out immediately. The bus boy/ runner was also extremely attentive. Actively clearing plates and assisting my friends and I. I started off with the ceaser, which was delicious. We shared the meatballs, amazing. Along with the calamari and grilled octopus. Everything was fresh and was served to us quickly. We ordered a pizza to split, the margarita to be exact, and let me tell you it was life changing especially when you are a little buzzed. That may have enhanced my experience a little more. For my entree I chose the vodka pasta, it was one of the best meals I've had in my entire life. The only downside to this place is how pricy it can be, but like all nice places you have to be prepared to spend a lot. Despite that, I recommend this place to everyone. Come in a group if you can, its a fun time. Miss this place and love it!
