My husband and I have been here a few times and love it! I'm confused by all the negative reviews posted. The service has always been friendly and fast. Anytime we've had to wait, the staff has been apologetic and thankful for our time. First Watch is an upgrade from the Egg & I. They have many different options on their menu to satisfy all types of eaters and diets. Their food is not greasy and there are many healthy options. I'm gluten free (not by choice) and the staff is always able to help me navigate the menu and make a great choice! You can sub out gluten free bread for no up-charge, which is practically unheard of. The vegetable market skillet is one of my favorites. We typically get a juice (kale tonic or morning meditation) and sometimes the million dollar bacon as well. My husband has had the French toast which was massive. You will not leave here hungry. On the weekends, they definitely get a breakfast rush and are slammed for a few hours, if you don't want to wait get there before 9/9:30. If you have a big party, call ahead (you should do this at all sit down restaurants anyway) to figure out wait time. I'm guessing some people are upset that the Egg & I closed and the new restaurant isn't the exact same as what was there before. Please pardon the photos of my half eaten food, I wasn't planning to write a review. I have reviewed another First Watch location, and I know I love their food, so I had intended to sit this one out. However, there were several bumps with our service that I felt should be mentioned. First off though, the food was excellent, and I will definitely be back. This location opened recently, and I know there are always things to iron out in early stages. They did a huge remodel from the previous restaurant's setup, and it looks fantastic! We came on a Monday at 9 a.m., and we got a table right away. One of my friends was running behind, and didn't arrive until probably 20 minutes later. Our waitress was MIA during this time, and also the first 10-15 minutes after my late pal arrived. We ordered quickly, with a request for another coffee mug thrown in as well. Fast forward 10 minutes, no mug and no waitress. The food seemed to take quite some time to arrive, and when it did, we tucked in eagerly. After several minutes, another waitress came by and started removing a plate of bacon from our table, saying, "I think we delivered you guys the wrong food, you didn't get bacon did you?" We were stunned, was she thinking of taking it to another table? After we assured her that yes, we did order bacon, she put it back on the table and reached for my friend's sausage, saying, "But you didn't get sausage, right?" (She had, in fact ordered sausage). We finished our meal and made our way over to pay in the small lobby that doubles as a cashier station and a check-in area. Even on a Monday, it got pretty crowded, I can't imagine what it would look like on a weekend. As a service industry employee and server at a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner spot...my experience here was pretty terrible. And this is coming from someone in the industry that understands the chaos and difficulties that come with working in a restaurant. Other than the mediocre food... severs seem way in over their heads and are vocal about that fact with tables which I think is unprofessional and makes it hard for customers to put their trust in them. There are servers popping in and out of the host station to seat people (I think this is a franchise-wide method as I have seen it at multiple locations), which is ineffective and creates chaos/long wait times/and (again) makes customers feel the staff doesn't know what they are doing. Try having a single host that customers can come to and visualize and someone that can get what they need (to be seated) instead of 10 different staff members popping in and out not accomplishing anything. Service is very slow and servers don't seem to be able to group tasks/visit multiple tables/prioritize very well. Completely take out the friendliness and feeling of being taken care of because the servers have no ability to stop and make time for that. The overall flow of the restaurant makes for a very awkward and uncomfortable experience. I have been to a couple of First Watch locations that do a decent job, but this is not one of them. 2 stars because I'm sympathetic and do realize it's a new location with new staff. Ok place that you can take the kids but is a little pricey. May have been an off day but the food I got was a bit under cooked. Some of the potatoes were raw and my over easy egg had some uncooked egg whites. For the price I accepted a lot better. read more

Seemed like another ten to get a glass of water. My eggs Benedict were not cooked right, more like fried over easy than pouched and drowning in a not good Hollandaise sauce. 2nd visit. Very standard service. I ordered scrambled eggs soft. I got one egg that was just taken out of a batch and way overdone. I knew better that to say anything. Another 10 minutes. So sorry I can't recommend anything about the experience on 64th Ave. Had been to 52nd & Wadsworth before and hoped the new location would be good. Not at all what is expected. Long long wait for everything, wait staff too busy to bring promised syrup, husbands food arrived too cold to eat. Waited another 30+ minutes for replacement (he'd have been happy with microwave reheat). Very rustic and different from you typical breakfast place. You are able to check in prior to when you walk in and makes your wait so much faster. The service was fine, but there were few diners, so I would have expected it to be OK. The food, unfortunately, was only mediocre. This menu might appeal to a younger customer base, but when I want breakfast, I want a simpler, tastier experience. Hollandaise on my Eggs Benedict was runny. Potatoes were burned and tasteless. My breakfast was served first before my friend's "so the waffle wouldn't get cold," however the waffle, eggs and bacon were all cold when served. Atmosphere is not cozy. It's dark and cold. Then waitress, "not wanting to rush us" rushed us because she had a dentist appt. There are other breakfast places in Arvada and Golden where I'll go. Skip First Watch.
