We decided to try a drive thru order this time! Both my husband and I ordered the breakfast burrito combos and coffee. To our surprise, these were not 'grab and go' type burritos, but rather restaurant, green chili smothered burritos. And the 'hashbrowns' were inside the burrito. They were delicious! But, it is strange that they are served through a drive way and aren't very portable. We had intended to eat them on the go but ended up stopping home to enjoy them before furthering our errands. Quick, friendly service. We waited about 12 minutes for a party of 4 on Sunday at 10 am. Servings sizes are pretty big. I'm still full 5 hours from brunch! Prices are cheaper, especially for 2025. We're a sucker for green chili in breakfast and it never disappoints. This one is slightly spicy, but not too much. I'll be back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Five stars for service. Two stars for food. I hear their breakfast burritos are good and the brunch plates we passed on our way to the table looked great. But wow, the lunch was just sad. We literally had to laugh and just shake our heads after our meal because both plates were just.. bad. Chicken fried steak was a pitiful cut of meat, even by cube steak standards. Plate was drenched in gravy, dry off-colored mashed potatoes and veggies must have been from a can. Greek Gyro Plate - ordered this because the exterior of the restaurant looks Greek. The gyro meat was identical to the beef strips I give my dog ! Look at the pic. Instead of shaved lamb the meat was more like fried bologna that they literally cut into strips. Undercooked pale French fries, Greek salad was a plain salad drenched in Greek dressing, no fresh onions or feta. On that note, this menu is huge and they might benefit from scaling back and sticking to classic dishes that are actually well prepared. We counted 12 burger options, 23 sandwiches, section for Mexican dishes, Greek options, pizza, breakfast and dinner entree plates as well. read more

I LOVE this place. I sincerely plan to become a regular here. I came with friends and although we happened to come during brunch rush on New Year's Day, we were still sat at a reasonable time. The service was great and everyone was so kind. Now the FOOD. It was soooo delicious. And so much! Such a good portion for the price. The burritos are huuuuge. I do wish they had green chili without pork (maybe they do, I forgot to ask), but everything just tastes so good I don't even care. We decided to return for a late breakfast/lunch at George's. It's pretty much the same as it was years ago when we visited. Outside it was a hot day but inside it was very comfortable. We were seated right away and ar first ordered some drinks. I ordered a breakfast of huervos rancheros. My spouse ordered a club sandwich. There was a little heat in mine but I adjusted quickly and soon was scarfing it all down. Her sandwich looked good and tasty. Now I'm not going to say this was incredible. But it was very traditional food served with a smile and it was very good going down! The place was busy but run very efficiently. All in all a very solid place to go for an American meal. Nothing fancy but soothing in a way. It's standard food served promptly and that's what we wanted. If you're in the area this is a nice clean place for some decent food. read more

Second time giving George's Cafe a chance. I really wanted this experience to be better. Our first trip was pre- COVID and their renovation. During that experience we had poor service and the food wasn't the best. I remember my partner's hash browns were greasy and pancakes over cooked on the outside but still undercooked in the inside. This time we thought we try again with the parents. My omelet was dry on the outside. The cheese was the only saving grace. The potatoes were also dry. If you forked the crispy side it wouldn't even prick. It was like they have a large tub of potatoes in the back and heat them up throughout the morning. My sourdough toast was even lackluster. The bread seemed almost soggy in the middle. Service was fine. We didn't really have an option with our seats, though. I like when the host gives an option. At least we we're asked a few times about coffee refills. Always a pet peeve when there isn't coffee refill happening, but that was fine. This place is family owned, and I want to like it. I even eat at a small family owned restaurants because of my job so I have tried a wide range of places and am always open minded. But I think this business should take a look at their food quality and cooking. I think there is potential to improve. Looks like the old locals are it's only hope for now though. read more

George's reminds me of the type of family diner you see in many movies. You are greeted by a very gracious and pleasant hostess. All the servers are friendly and very easy to strike up a conversation. The food is reasonably priced, what you would expect from home style cooking. The green chili and chicken tortilla soup are amazing. George's is a great place to eat - not only for the food but for the people. I have driven by this place for 20 years and finally stopped for brunch. OMG, modest sized but cute, clean and well maintained. I had a pork carnita breakfast burrito and had country gravy instead of chili. My wife had a patty melt with fries. To say that we were amazed by the price, quality and taste is a massive understatement. The breakfast burrito was very large and tasted amazing for around $12 and my wife;s patty melt and fries about $10. Fast friendly service, food came out hot off the grill. You need to try it. I will not wait another 20 years to go again. It is even better than the extinct Ralston Road cafe in my book. read more

This place is packed and for good reason if your looking for non chain, family mom & pop restaurant, have arrived. Easily accessible next to Wadsworth blvd. Initially cam in and there was at least 6-8 parties ahead of me. Thankfully I was only a party of one and even joining the wait list (manually, no option that I seen to join via Yelp or open table) I was sat in less than 5 min. Now understand I was willing to take any table or booth and again party of one at 9 am on a Sunday. I ordered their breakfast burrito and was not disappointed. This is a nice little local restaurant with a huge menu. Something for everyone can be found on the menu and the food is quite good. Good service, too. I love their potatoes, and currently my favorite thing is the Southwest Sunrise. The green chili is surprisingly tasty, and they have a really good sausage that my husband usually gets with his breakfast. My mother-in-law loves getting a hamburger to take home some weekdays and a nearby table ordered an open faced roast beef sandwich that looked fantastic! Seemed a bit odd as staff inside was standing around and our server was working triple duty. I LOVE hash browns or any fried potatoes so I went for those and a short stack of pancakes. My food came out in between my partners and their food was also split in half. Potatoes were good though! Little greasy and later I fell ill so I assume it was the potatoes? Pancakes had a great consistency but were unfortunately over cooked. Undercooked dough mixed with burnt batter can't be fixed with any amount of syrup or butter. My partner said the food was ok. Filling and had a to go box for later. Portions are plentiful and the prices are fair. Our bill xane promptly and the table was cleared. The card was ran, tip tallied, and signed. After a round of golf, we were in need of sustenance. Being that we were celebrating my grandpa's 85th birthday, we opted for takeout from his favorite spot - close to home. George's Café was his choice, and a decent one at that! Being that we had checked out the menu beforehand, we simply ordered ahead of time via telephone (from the 9th hole), which proved to be the easiest route! After we packed up our clubs, Dad ran to get the food, while the rest of us headed to Grandpa's. I'll admit, the menu is vast, with their breakfast menu being their most popular items. My husband opted for the massive breakfast burrito (which was loaded with eggs, bacon, hash browns and cheese, smothered in green chili), while the rest of us opted for sandwiches and salads. On a total Greek/Mediterranean kick, I decided on the Greek Salad with gyro meat (lettuce, tomato, feta, olives, cucumbers, dolmades, tzatziki and Greek dressing, with a pita) which was light, fresh and totally hit the spot! Grandpa and Mom noshed on the Ruben - which was huge and piled high with pastrami, while Dad settled on the Italian Sausage sandwich. While I'm sure this meal would have tasted better in person, by the time we sat down to eat, our meals were cold - but such is life in a COVID world with takeout. I love George's!!! My baby girl and I come here every Sunday after Mass. While they're always busy, they manage their tables well and get us sat at a reasonable time. The food is delicious and at a good price! The hostess is very friendly and always gives refills on coffee. I ought to try and see how much I can drink before she cuts me off! This is a regular spot for us. Fair prices for good portions. They are hit and miss on the service though. Last time we were in the server didn't ask how I wanted my eggs (on a skillet) and I guess she assumed I wanted them scrambled - I didn't. We ordered a good amount of food to try, had to hunt down the unfriendly waitress for coffee refills, I purchased a gift certificate from Restaurant. Com for $25 of $50 or more. The owner came out yelling saying it was supposed to be $10 of $20 and decided to argue with me about it, this isn't the customers fault. The right thing to do is not mention it to the customer, take the gift certificate and call the company after the customer leaves. He finally took the Certificate but that was a little late. I will not go back when we come to Colorado we'll stick to our other options. I also will not recommend this place to my friends and family who live in Colorado. read more
