My basic breakfast, great griddle biscuit and cinnamon roll
    TJ H.

I was visiting with a friend. We met a gentleman who recommended this place. Now we know why! Many foods made from scratch. When it's your first time, they FORCE FEED you a cinnamon roll. It was really good! Please force feed me more. Just a good down home cooking restaurant. We were there for breakfast. The best meal of the day.

Kenzie was AMAZING. She was super nice and checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. Service was really awesome and everyone was so nice. The food was really, really good. I got a cheeseburger with a side salad and my mom got a whimpy skinny papas with a side pancake. Pancake was soooo good and I literally have no complaints. They kept things moving even during the rush and the vibe was really chill. I would 100% recommend this to anyone in the area. I'm from out of town and I will definitely find a way to come back before we leave.

I think this place is great. I've been here a number of times and each and every time it has not disappointed. The breakfast food is awesome, and their portions are huge so make sure you come hungry. They have a lot of great options from sweet to savory, to loads of meat, to eggs on eggs on eggs. My kids love this place as well which is a bonus because they tend to be pretty picky eaters. I've never been sad with what I've ordered but my favorite is most likely the Papas (Cowboy).

We had a party of 11. They accommodated us quickly and the service was amazing. The food was delicious. Highly recommend The biscuits were so tasty. They are crispy on the outside and the sausage patios were the best. Will be back for sure

OMG!!! Looking to absolutely send you tastbuds to the moon? You have to come to Doug's Diner. I got the Colorado bison burger (locally sourced meat) and it did not disappoint. Was skeptical with the grape jelly on top but thought "welp, when in Thornton!" Perfectly cooked and super tasty. I would have paid 50$ for this burger. We also had the hillbilly breakfast, which came with a godly amount of biscuits and gravy, 3 eggs and bacon that tasted like a ribeye steak. Our serve Selena was very friendly and super on top of everything. You need to stop here if you're in Thornton/Denver area!! 1 million stars

    We're here & we're hungry !

Solid menu , great prices for a local diner in 2025 ! Food came out fairly fast as well. And I like that menu wise they do what they want and not what everyone else is doing. Almost reminded me of everything cracker barrells restaurant wanted to be . But just outshines them by miles flavor wise.

It was my first time here and the food was delicious! It was plentiful and the service was amazing. Even on a weekend the wait wasn't long at all. The waitress had us seated fairly quickly. Great place and great food. Will definitely be back.

This is a great brunch place in the area and worth the wait. We came in around 9:30 to beat the crowd. I do think they can fit more people in if they break up some of the tables since they don't really have two tops. Their staff is mainly friendly and helpful. The food is what makes us coming back. The food is fresh and homemade. The homemade jams are a must try along with the griddle biscuits. The side of tomato with the pesto was also really good, and a great alternative to more carbs.

Fantastic food and service! The Frontier burger is legit - everything else was wonderful and a great value for the price!

Ask the Community - Doug's Diner - Thornton

Can I make a reservation, need to" hash" things out with a friend wondering if I can elect a time to sit down?

Unfortunately no, they are a first come first serve restaurant.

Do they offer an gluten free substitutions or accommodations?

Yes! Gluten free bread is an option for sandwiches and burgers, and there is gluten free French toast as well (not pancakes however). If you get something with their green Chile, they have a gluten free (vegetarian as well!) option.

    Is breakfast served all day?

Yes! They are so awesome here you can pretty much customize and ask for anything you want!

Waiting wasn't a chore because there are quirky shops in the corridor outside the entrance, including a used bookshop. Our waitress was lively and very quick to get our order in and out on the table. I had an English muffin, tomatoes, avocado, spinach, two eggs, swiss, with a side of potatoes. On the menu it's called Louisville Muffin. I really liked it with the stack of veggies under the eggs. Bookguy had Carol's Potatoes: chorizo gravy-covered potatoes topped with two eggs, and a side of toast. He especially liked the chorizo gravy. A third member of our group ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Everything came out just the way she liked it. It's a bit noisy when it's packed with diners as it was this day, but the food is great so no doubt we will be back when in Louisville.

The diner itself is clean and it's bright inside, with lots of decorations, and it's a fun 50s/60s themed diner. The server was fine, she checked in on us periodically. We ordered our food and asked if we could order our milkshakes. They said that they had just cleaned up the milkshake machine and that it's out for the night. They close at 9 and nowhere online does it say that they close the machine done around 6. We mainly came here for a milkshake, so it was a bit disappointing. I overheard the waitresses playing a would you rather game. They asked would you rather make milkshakes all night or work on silverware? They all laughed and decided silverware would be the way to go. I get that making milkshakes may be time consuming and annoying, but it's a diner. I'm wondering if they just didn't want us to order any milkshakes and told us it was closed for the night. We decided that we would order a different dessert at the end of our meal. But before we were even finished eating, a check was put on our table. I do not plan on coming back and would not recommend this place to anyone.
