The food is always amazing and it's a good place to go eat if you're ballin on a budget!

We dine at Cheddars in Thornton, Colorado frequently and normally walk away satisfied with both the service and food quality. Yesterday was certainly a disappointment due to the server was simply mediocre which we can live with but the food quality was certainly below grade. We both had the chicken fried steak (CFS) dinner which is normally excellent. Today's CFS was tough and had more gristle than meat. The breading was very tasty but again the steak patty was not. We both love CFS and after chatting about it agreed that the CFS was substandard and therefore we'll look for another restaurant. read more

OMG! Amazing experience top to bottom. Being from out of state for a softball tournament Keilani was so much help in serving us amazing food as well as great suggestions on things to do in the area! She was so pleasant and we never went needing anything! On top of her game! 10/10! read more

I've never eaten at this chain before but I was pretty impressed! I picked up a family member from the airport so we arrived to this restaurant as soon as they opened around 11:00am. It was almost empty except for 2 other groups but the service was a little slow as I'm sure everyone was still opening up for the day. Luke was our waiter and did a good job, but pretty melancholy. Service did pick up once more groups arrived. All the food was delicious- especially the onion rings! Sometimes, chicken fried chicken can be oily or greasy but it was fresh and crispy. read more

Yummy lunch with my son with my son yesterday & Cheddars never misses. I had a pot pie & side kale salad. That kale salad was so good!!! Each time I'm in Denver I hit Cheddar's. It's one family chain that hits pretty hard in terms of affordability and quality of offerings that we don't have in California. And having rainbow trout on regular menu is always a big plus. Theirs is some of the most solid, dependable, and delicious compared to their competitors. I loved how each flaky but delivered on its promise of scrumptiousness and subtlety. I would come here just for that honestly, though I've heard it's a great lunch place as well. The big letdown for both of us last night was the service. They were slow to take our orders, slow to get refills or ask if we needed anything, and slow to get us our bill. It was a trifecta of ineffectiveness. Our server was nice enough, but he definitely didn't make us feel like we were a priority at all. And that's something you should never do as a restaurant. The place was nice-looking enough and they had good energy from its patrons. It's just a shame the lack of good service kind of ruins the experience and makes us not want to visit this particular branch again on a return visit, whenever that might be. read more

A solid 3.5 stars! Cheddar's is a chain restaurant specializing in southern classics - think ribs, catfish, chicken fried chicken. They are also known for honey butter croissants (now a side) and great chicken tenders. And just like any good southern restaurant, they also have great sides- Broccoli and cheese casserole, Mac and cheese, Green Beans - and you can order a vegetable plate!! My husband ordered steak and ribs - it came with two sides for $24. The ribs were fall off the bone tender - So good! We found the kind of steak to be chewy but it was overall good. The broccoli and cheese casserole was just like mama makes- ooh to die for! A baked potato was sizable and loaded with tons of butter and cheese. I got lemon pepper catfish over rice which came with two sides for $19. The catfish definitely could have used more seasoning. The Mac and cheese was good. It was cafeteria style with a velveeta sauce texture - and I know that's someone's preference for sure. Overall, we left satisfied feeling like we had a good dinner for the price point. The atmosphere is cute, like a steakhouse with lots of intimate tables and booths. This a great place to eat for someone vegetarian or pescatarian. Huge parking lot and plenty of comfort inside, with booths, back room with surround windows. Greeting at the front was welcoming! One impressive part is the creative ceiling fans keeping the place "Perfectly temperature" for large crowds with greenery reaching upwards towards the light. Service!!! The picante mango was a startling surprise, given most mild fish are embellished in its own flavor. The cubed Picante was a shock to my palate; YET!!! I ATE THE ENTIRE DISH Accompanied with Waffled Sweet Potato fries & butter corn in a cup. The waffle sweet potato fries come in a fun tin and get a bit soggy towards the bottom; yet rather tasty. Aspen's burger, well see the photos, she eats with manners and loved the burger. Cheddar's Scratch is a chain restaurant, with similar menues. Their service is impecable, while I did ask for the booth inside the large part of the restaurant. What was most lovely were the rotating fans under a sky light and ?? Service is poor the staff asked me if I would like to sit outside when it's over 97 outside is fucking wild also to sit there and wait over 15 minutes for the bill after my family got tired of waiting. I sat at the table for an extra 10 mins waiting for these waitress. My family and I both ordered chicken tenders which would require some sort of sauce to dip it in. They bring in one BBQ sauce in a small container so small it was enough for two bites. This place is terrible the staff is even worse I didn't see one white person working there maybe that's why I received poor service because we are white ? Wtf kinda place is that. I've received better service from McDonald's I would never go here to eat ever again it wasn't worth what we paid for it the food was quality of chilis. And priced like a top notch steakhouse. Well, tonight was disappointing. We ordered buffalo chicken wraps to go chips and queso and a cheesecake. The chicken wraps were very disappointing that chicken so veiny you couldn't even chew it and if there was chicken, it had so much breading on it. It was disgusting... And the chips and queso well I guess that's my fault for thinking that queso could make it to go.. Definitely don't do that to go queso it doesn't turn out very well. Highly disappointed. We paid $118 for three adults and one child, which is incredibly expensive for the poor quality we received. The chicken was rubbery, and the food completely lacked flavor. This is a very good option for American food. They have a lot on their menu so there's something for everyone. Our group was happy with all the food we ordered. The baby back ribs were a standout and were really delicious. The restaurant seemed clean and was decorated in a warm, modern style. Our server was really on top of things and didn't skip a beat. One problem was the soda. Both types that were ordered tasted off. Perhaps there was a problem with their machine but in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't a big deal. We've eaten at Cheddar's a number of times, and the food is consistently delicious. Some of my favorites are the bbq ribs, bourbon glazed salmon, steak, Asian salad and the hunny butter croissants. My husband and I really like this location! Our server, Giovanni was super friendly and made my husbands birthday really special. I got the monte cristo on the pick 2 lunch special with a salad. The monte cristo is always good, and it's deep fried just how I like it! The jam it is served with MAKES the sandwich though and I wish I had asked for extra. Our favorite drink is the painkiller- love the tropical flavors and the honey coated rim with coconut. My husband got the chicken fried chicken- he said it was good, although he might try the chicken fried steak next time to compare. The sweet potato fries with honey mustard are life, and a must. We chose this spot because my godmother was in from Albuquerque New Mexico. There was 15 of us that gathered to have lunch together. We were seated promptly. They have a bar area and a seated restaurant area. The bar area is in closed so we don't hear any of the TVs that are on as you were sitting in the restaurant enjoying your family time the inside had these really cool, wicker leaf looking fans. It was nice and cool in there. Very large variety on the menu as well as the wine list. , Margaritas and Colorado Craft Beer. We were treated kindly and respectful, which is a big plus for me how drinks came out salads came out except for my husbands salad so he ended up eating his salad after his meal came out. He wasn't too pleased about that.On the menu they have combination plates with steak and shrimp, etc. That was the plate that my husband ordered, and when it came to the table, it was child size servings. The rice and shrimp came in a finger bowl. The steak was small, but cooked to perfection. The salad was great. Came with hot croissants. All in all, we had a great time the food was good and hot! We stood outside and took family photos exchanged hugs and prayed to see each other again! Party of four and we came for lunch. I can't say enough good things regarding this chain. They had everything down to a "T", service, cleanliness, food quality and service were all on point. I want to say hats off and the kitchen staff for some of the best possible food service around. All of our meals were absolutely delicious! Extra kudos for the Monte Cristo sandwich. This one is hard for a restaurant to get right. Cheddars was able to make it both hot on melty on the inside as well as the out. My daughters' ribs were fall of the bone delicious! The restaurant has a lot of seating so you actually don't have to wait too long. The menu is pretty expansive with a lot of choices. I chose the grilled tilapia, and my friend chose the chicken. We also ordered the specialty fries. The specialty fries was good, but I would have preferred different cheese. I liked the mango salsa on my tilapia but the tilapia itself was just ok tasting. The shrimp that came with it was good. The side broccoli had no flavor, but the side string beans were good. I tasted my friends chicken, which was decent. So, first time we are trying this place. We're pleasantly surprised of how great this place is! We always see a full parking lot here so we assumed it was always packed. We came in at 7:45pm and it was literally only a 5 min wait! Oh the prices too are still very good for what you're getting. A $7 margarita? Yes, that would be fabulous. Thank you. Plus, I would see most people walking out with leftovers. Which, means that the portions are good. Oh, let me add this. I saw a 12+ group of people, and instead of letting one waitress handle it all, we saw at least 6 of her coworkers helping and bring out food/drinks. That was great to see. I would have to say I was pretty underwhelmed when dinning here. This is your typical Darden franchised restaurant. They have a wide array of items on the menu but the quality is pretty low. (However, it's a franchise!). Within the building they do have tons of seating and offer huge booths which are great for groups. They also offer alcoholic drinks for a pretty decent price ($5.99) currently today. My sister and I ordered a Monte Cristo and I would say I was highly disappointed. The bread was mushy and soft and the there was little filling inside it. I probably won't go back for another 5 years - and when that time comes I will not order the Monte Cristo. Cheers! read more

Me and My partner came in ready to have a little date night and We ordered two Long Islands with Marco... quite a few minutes passed and Marco walked by us twice without asking if we were ready to order an appetizer or anything. We had to flag him down to take our order. We understood that he had just had a few tables leave and seemed to have a lot to clean up. Once he took our order, I got my salad quickly, which was great. We thought we'd get our appetizer next since that would be considered (Course 1), and our mains (Course 2) would follow. I finished my salad and started looking for Marco, but he was busy flirting with a server at the bar (the one with bubble pigtails). That was annoying. While we were waiting, the manager, Jaime, had to bring out our appetizer, but unfortunately, it was lukewarm. At this point, I was fed up and got up to find Marco. He came around the corner with our entrees, and I said, "Hey, our appetizer was cold/lukewarm, and now you're bringing this? We haven't even had our appetizer." I also asked , "So you're not going to remake it?" That's when he said, "Yep, it is because you told me to hold it." Excuse me? By this time, my partner was done with the service, and as Marco walked away, he asked if we still wanted to see a manager. We said yes, and he responded with an attitude, "Cool, my name is Marco, by the way." We were just ready to leave. When Jaime came over, we explained everything, including the cold appetizer. He acknowledged our concerns and mentioned he thought it was odd since our food was also up. I expressed that I'd never been spoken to like that by a server, and it was unacceptable. Jaime was apologetic and offered us a credit for our next visit. We specifically drove to this Thornton location instead of the Aurora location, and if you have the option, go to Aurora. We both work in the industry--my partner is even an executive chef. We understand that things can get hectic, but meal coursing and good customer service should be standard. Quoted 20 min for a wait, but it was only 5 min.!!!! Score!!! The menu is massive. Something for everyone. I ordered the vegetable plate where you get to pick 4 sides AND it comes with an salad for $11!! The chicken and kale salad that my husband was a tad bit on the salty side. Not sure if it was due to the vinaigrette. Service was slow. Unbelievably slow which probably made up for the quick seating so it all washed out in the end. read more
