The interior space is clean and minimal with some seating indoors and outdoors. WiFi is available for those who choose to study or work there. The matcha cream on top was good and the drink wasn't too milky, I suggest drinking it quickly so it doesn't get watered down. At first sip you can tell the quality is pretty top tier, so don't expect it to taste artificial like a Starbucks matcha latte they have the real stuff over here. Stopped by First Flight Coffee around 2 PM and was surprised by how popular it was -- it started filling up right as I placed my order. I went with the cashier's recommendation, the French Toast Latte (half sweet with cold foam), and it was so good! It had just the right amount of sweetness, and the sprinkle of cinnamon on top was the perfect touch. You could actually taste the coffee without it being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. I almost went with the Strawberry Matcha, which I heard is also really popular, but I'm glad I tried one of their signature drinks first. Solid first visit! We got two drinks, their signature First Flight Matcha and the Honey Cinnamon Latte. For the matcha, it's a solid one - made with ceremonial grade matcha, milk, and their "matcha cloud foam" which is pretty on point with the trend. The matcha itself is on the milder side, but good. Matcha foam does add sweetness so with my drink less sweet, it was enough sweetness for me. For the latte, solid espresso drink with a good ratio of cinnamon and honey! I'm so happy they opened in Torrance! I'm always excited when a new coffee shop opens up. They are known for their coffee but also their matcha drinks here. We got a couple matcha drinks and their iced coffee. Everyone in the group was pretty happy with what they ordered. I'd come back again to try other drinks. There was a line going out the store which goes to show you how good their products are. I will say the highlight of our visit was not their coffee...it was their CROOKIE. A croissant cookie! Interesting drinks at this recently opened shop, I like that they offer the option to tune the sweetness of their drinks and that different foam toppings can be used to enhance the flavor of most offerings as well. I had an early grey matcha, add matcha cold foam. The flavor was yummy & it tasted very similar to an iced lavender matcha. I made no adjustments and it wasn't too sweet which was a good thing. The matcha flavor wasn't giving the matcha taste I had anticipated though. I gave 3 stars because I placed the order online around 9/9:05 am and received confirmation that my drink would be ready at 9:20. Since my son had a 9:30 ortho appointment right around the corner, I figured online ordering would be more convenient for me. Good thing I dropped him off first because when I arrived at this coffee place at 9:26, my order was not ready, not even started and it wasn't even busy. The staff didn't even acknowledge or apologize for not having it ready but it was written on their face (the acknowledgment). I walked over from my hotel and noticed the grand opening, so I decided to check it out after seeing other spots nearby with great reviews. The place has a cool vibe, though the space is a bit tight. I wanted to sit and enjoy my drink inside, but the back area was already full, so I grabbed a seat out front instead. Service was great, and my drink came out pretty fast. Not long after, a line started forming out the door, so it definitely gets busy, but they move things along quickly. The ambience is neat, clean, & minimalistic. 1-2 tables in the front, a couple tables in the way back. It's a a smaller spot. More for grab-n-go drinks. I got the Signature First Flight Matcha which is ceremonial grade matcha + whole milk + matcha cream top. Basically a double matcha. It was pretty good! Nice, creamy but light! Their matcha is a nice shade of green too! 10/10. What did surprise me were their pastries! They had such a unique line-up that I couldn't decide which to get. I've been to multiple coffee shops & many of them have similar common pastries-the average plain croissant and all...but I was so surprised to see such a variety! The herb tomato croissant and cookie croissant looked amazing. Will be coming back for these. When you go, make sure you take a look at their selection! This is a new coffee shop that just opened in Torrance! When I went there was no line and the girl who took my order was super helpful and nice when I had some questions about the drinks. The layout of this coffee shop is also pretty small with minimal seating in the front and has a long hallway with a little more seating in the back. Their menu has most of the staple drinks, they also have some food items! I was debating between a regular vanilla latte or the first flight cold brew (cold brew with a vanilla cold foam). For my first time, I just ordered the iced vanilla latte and it wasn't that sweet and the vanilla flavor wasn't that strong. It definitely had a stronger coffee flavor, Im not sure if you can ask for it sweeter but I would recommend it? My new go-to matcha in the area! It seems like the South Bay had an influx of drink spots lately, and First Flight definitely stands out as one of the top. The First Flight Matcha is nicely strong and not too sweet! The extra sprinkling of matcha adds an extra punch that ensures no flavor is lost throughout all the milk/cream. An easy recommendation for anyone who likes a double matcha. The Cardamom Rose Tea Latte is a nice balance of spice and floral. Strong flavor but not soapy! I also topped it with their Vanilla Cold Foam, which added some extra creaminess and slight sweetness. This drink didn't stand out to me as much as the matcha, but is still very good! The staff was very kind both times I visited, and it seems like they're getting faster at putting out orders. Seating is limited, so I'd recommend coming early to snag a spot if you're planning to do work, or just treating this as a grab & go spot. Haven't tried their baked goods yet, but they look very appealing. This location has had some identity changes recently, but I hope First Flight is here to stay! I've tried 5 drinks on their menu over 3 different visits. Overall, I prefer thicker than airy and milky than vanilla cream top. Also I'm not a fan of acidic coffee, so with that into consideration... First Flight Matcha: Has a good matcha flavor in the drink and cold foam, on the sweeter side First Flight Cold Brew: Not strong enough for cold brew, can't taste the cold foam at all with the acidic coffee, would not recommend Cold brew: Got this on a different day than the First Flight Cold Brew, so this felt like it had stronger, less acidic flavor Peaches N Cream: Has a lot of peach syrup(?) so the taste hits you hard, can't tell that it's tea, feels more like ade, works well with vanilla cold foam though, didn't expect to enjoy this much so pleasantly surprised, definitely recommend Vanilla latte: Typical average drink, what you'd expect Matcha tonic: Tastes more like lemon sparkling water, can't taste matcha read more
