Food is good and the amount is also good. There is enough parking. It is in the Potomac Promenade shopping mall. Service is good and the server was also attentive.

    Chicken egg roll

Not sure what happened to this place, but seems like the rising food cost have had a huge impact on their food quality. Chicken and broccoli is now mainly broccoli w a small amount of chicken pieces thrown in. Don't order their chicken egg rolls! Mostly air inside with so little stuffing that it deflates the moment you bite into it. Going downhill quickly! Sad offerings.

Shrimp w walnuts was amazing and my favorite!

The food here was amazing! It is a little pricey but worth every penny if you ask me. Great service and lots of options. Shrimp w walnuts was amazing and my favorite. Also got shumai , shrimp tempura, and carmalized chicken, everything was so good and tender! Yum! This was great after hiking best asian fusion ive ever been to, deserves better reviews!

I don't remember any decor, but what's the most important? Food. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost to amount ratio and the taste. They executed the dishes well. I like their Potato Eggplant dish which isn't prominent in other Chinese restaurants in the area. It wasn't busy at the time we were there on a Friday night so we had excellent service. Our servers spoke English and Chinese. Attentive and the food came out really quick. Overall, I would come back. It's not a spot to impress or to dress up to go, but if you're hungry and want a casual Chinese food spot, that's also authentic enough to bring a Chinese person, this is definitely worth a try.

But as is typical of Chinese restaurants in the DMV serving spicy food, this restaurant started out great with authentic levels of spiciness, but then severely toned down their heat level to placate the masses. Although this is a Sichuan restaurant, their shrimp dumplings (Cantonese cuisine) were very good with a thin skin. But their wonton soup was extremely below expectations to the realm of pathetic. The wontons were so tiny and mundane I could easily get larger or better wontons from a Americanized Chinese take out joint or even a run of the mill Chinese buffet. Their service also needs improvement as it took quite a while before a server arrived to greet and take our order on my last visit.

Everything was clean and had nice Chinese-style decor. As usual, I ordered mapo tofu and a hot and sour soup when trying a new Szechuan restaurant. The soup was excellent and came in a large portion bowl. The tofu came with minced pork (it can also be ordered without the pork) and it was delicious. They told me it wasn't usually that spicy so I asked for it to be as spicy as their regular spicy dishes. When it came out, it had excellent heat and my lips are still a bit tingly. Overall, a large Szechuan restaurant in this area that's worth a visit. Of course, authentic Chinese in this area is already crowded, but this one deserves some foot traffic love as well.

If you like Taiwanese food, this is your place in Rockville! Back in the day, circa early 2010s,…read morewhen Baltimore did not have much of an Asian food offering, my friends and I would make the long drive to Rockville to have lunch here and do some grocery shopping nearby. I have kept this place in the back of my mind, with fond memories, however, have not visited in some years due to multiple moves around the country. Recently, my friend was organizing a casual gathering for our friend group, and asked ChatGPT if there were any good recommendations for food in the area that was affordable and delicious, and A&J came up as a top choice. So I came back to A&J after almost 10 years, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The decor remained simple and unchanged, but this is very typical of Asian restaurants. The menu was large, and it's easy to order by circling items you want on the paper menu. We had a mix of noodle soup bowls (so many different flavors and styles) and appetizers, and everything we tried was delicious. Our bill came out to less than $25 per person with tip. I could imagine more pretentious Chinese restaurants downtown upcharging a lot more for lower quality Chinese food (Queen's English, for example). It was so good and affordable, that I actually ended up coming back the next day with a different friend. Overall, excellent experience, and I will be back again soon! One interesting tidbit, my coworker who grew up in the Midwest and only eats meat, potatoes, absolutely no vegetables, started going here for lunch and loves it. I think flour-based items (noodles, dumplings, buns) are really the star of the restaurant, and this can be enjoyed across different taste palates! I hope you will give this place a try.
