Well. I am pleased to bring you a most wonderful review about the food and ambience of this Delicious Thai Restaurant. I started with the extremely Fresh, Filling, Tasty, Bursting w/ Flavor, Papaya Salad. My main course was a Shrimp and Chicken added Pad Thai... and I may say; it was perfect. Lum Thai is one of our local favorites. I haven't had a single bad dish. Whether it's noodles, curry, or a soup, they have all been fantastic. I was going to go to breakfast with one of my friends next door at another restaurant when we saw this small independently owned restaurant next door. How fortuitous! I took a look at the menu and they had a range of thai dishes from all ranges of Thailand. Also we took a look at the food of the patrons and everything looked so inviting. I ordered Thai iced tea. We shared spring rolls and got chicken thom yum soup. I will say that the Thom yum soup here is more tomatoey and limey than I'm used to but It was very tasty. For meals we had chicken drunken noodles and chicken massaman curry. The drunken noodles were good but they knocked it out the park with the curry!! So flavorful. I can not wait to go back here. The staff was so nice. I am happy that we chose to enjoy a quiet lunch then going to the packed to the brim restaurant two doors down. Located in Muddy Branch Square shopping center, Lum Thai is a small Thai restaurant offering the usual Thai dishes at most Thai restaurants. They also some specials that looked interesting. I got the pad thai ($14 with chicken), and it was decent/average. I got a few dry chicken pieces unfortunately. I got hot and it actually was spicy (since sometimes they dial the spice levels down, but not this place!) Staff were friendly and checked on us often. Excited to try a new Thai place and wanted to love this but sadly, we did not. The food was average at best. Everything was very salty. Excessively salty. Portions average to smallish for the price. Papaya salad was way salty. Larb Gai was way salty also. They should served with some shrimp chips to cut the salt. Pad Thai was saucy. Should have served with wedges of lime to cut the sweetness. It was served piping hot which was nice. Panang curry was the best dish but was small and lacked vegetables. Ka prow was server with a nice fried egg but the sauce was very salty. Had to eat with a lot of rice. Service was slow considering there was no one in the restaurant. They were doing a lot of carry out orders tho. read more

We enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner at Lum Thai. I made a reservation (which wasn't needed) because it was a Friday night. The service was outstanding. Servers were very friendly and brought my birthday dessert out with a candle and sang to me. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the chicken Panang curry, my husband had the mango curry hot and my mom had the chicken pad Thai. The portions were large and they boxed up our leftovers for us. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice and the fried banana with coconut ice cream. DELICIOUS. We will be back! Plenty of parking. read more

My sister orders from this place often and compared it to a Thai restaurant that we love back home in Boston. While I was in town, we decided to order for takeout. We ordered two pad ka prao with salmon, extra spicy. Upon arrival, they informed us that they only had one piece of salmon left (this was a Tuesday early evening). I ended up ordering the tilapia and had to beg them to not make it breaded. I sat at the bar to wait and had a glass of Sauvignon blanc. Inside was pretty busy and looked clean. I would have dined in. When we got home, we soon realized that there was absolutely no pepper in the food, causing it to be on the sweeter side. It was extremely disappointing considering we eat Thai food for the level of spice they're able to achieve. Nonetheless, I was NOT impressed and very unsatisfied with the meal. read more

Enjoyable lunch. We ate in for lunch and opted for lunch specials, which come with a choice of an app and entree. I ordered fried tofu + pad see ew with beef and my mom opted for a spring roll plus pad Thai with chicken. We traded plates to sample each other's selections. It was all solid and my favorite was the pad see ew with beef. Nothing blew me away, but tasty. Service was good. Restaurant interior is pretty non-descript and it's in the strip center at Muddy Branch. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and great service. We ordered a few items for the table and they were all delicious. The curry puff was flaky and crispy on the outside and great flavor for the filling. The pad see ew hit the spot too with well-cooked noodles and a great balance of other toppings. The curry had a nice kick (you can ask for different levels of spice) and depth to it. The pineapple fried rice was a fun dish that had a great balance of flavors between the savory fried rice + sweet pineapples. The biggest takeaways that I noticed are that the kitchen doesn't skimp out on portion size. The dishes are reasonably priced AND they give you a ton of food, so that's always great to see. There's a decent amount of indoor seating (none outside) and they are accommodating in the form of gender neutral bathrooms. It seems like it could get a bit noisy on a busier evening, but I had a great time here and would be more than happy to visit again if I'm in the area. read more

Came on an impulse - the smell from outside absolutely drew us in! Inside is cozy and cute - we were seated immediately and ordered Thai teas - so good that my husband ordered a second one! The food was served very quickly, and we really enjoyed everything! Husband ordered the cashew chicken and I the vegetarian pad see euw. Every bite of each so full of flavor! Tried Lyk thai for the first time today and was hugely impressed! We got a wide variety of items to try: thai teas, Tom kha soup, pad Thai, panang curry, and fried rice. The presentation of the soup was really cute and the taste was great. It was my second time trying Tom kha and I enjoyed it more than my other try! The serving sizes are also bigger than what I imagined. Both the fried rice and pad Thai came with so much food!!! Same goes for the curry. Great value. All three items tasted great as well. My friend asked for some chili sauce and they promptly brought over a variety of spices for her. The Thai tea is a tad sweet, but nothing ice/water can't dilute and they come in cute little mason jars. The service was great as well especially for a relatively new spot. March 2023 I have been eagerly awaiting this new Thai restaurant, but it didn't quite make a favorable impression on me other than the friendly staff. My new, lovely colleague and I shared our chicken pad Thai and beef pad see ew. Both entrees were flavorful, however, needed more sauce. The pad see ew noodles needed to be more tender. It was more al dente, which is atypical. Also the beef was chewy and overcooked. The Thai iced tea was good though. They had a few carryout orders, but hardly any dine-in patrons. The restaurant is located in Muddy Branch Square, in the same shopping center as Giant, and is two doors down from First Watch. This has slowly become my favorite Thai restaurant in my area. Everything I've tried so far has been good. The salmon kapow level 5 spice is chefs kiss 10/10. They have had some off days but for the most part it's pretty solid. The workers are friendly and always offer a free Thai iced tea if I'm waiting too long for my order or if they made a mistake. The street/drunken noodle are good also. They give you a good portion but sometimes it tends to be overcooked. I've tried their wonton soup and probably wouldn't order it again. My friend told me about this new Thai restaurant and said it was good so I got carry out to try it. I ordered the chicken pad thai and crispy duck curry. The pad thai was bland and lacking in flavor. It tasted like something I can get at the mall food court. The crispy duck curry was really good, but better to eat at the restaurant as the crispiness of the duck will get soggy by the time it reaches home. Pad Thai was good - loved the amount of chicken and egg but slightly bland. Green Curry with chicken was good but the eggplant was undercooked, which it was less hard and more soft. Rice is on a smaller side, but we don't eat a lot of rice, so we were fine with the size. They also have a brown rice option for an up charge. Decor is clean and pretty without being cluttered. The furniture is rustic wood and comfortable. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and kind. We came on a Sunday morning around brunchtime. We put our names down initially at First Watch nextdoor but their wait was an hour so when we saw this place two doors down with immediate seating we went in. We were not disappointed. We ordered the Green Curry with chicken and jasmine rice. I got it medium spicy which is two peppers on a scale of four and trust me it was spicy enough and flavorful with a good amount of chicken. We also ordered the Pad Thai with beef which was good but a tad sweet for our taste. We asked if we could order it next time and ask for less sugar and they said absolutely which is great to know. I also ordered one of their ice teas from the special menu. I cannot recall the name of the tea but it was purple on top and yellow on the bottom. It was refreshing, not too sweet, and the colors were pretty. We will definitely return to try more things on their menu. The area is increasing of high quality Thai cuisine and this is one of them. We ordered quite quite few dishes including Crabmeat Fried Rice, Crispy Duck Ka Prao, Tom Kha, and a couple appetizers to share. The Pad Thai wasn't too sweet like a lot of Thai places. The duck was crispy, not too much fat. The Tom Kha wasn't too heavy on the coconut cream taste which most Thai places are. Best of all, the food came in good proportions. The menu is small but seems like all the dishes are well curated. Very unique plating too, not too much with an authentic impact. The atmosphere is good for dates or just casual dinner (although they don't have alcohol currently - that may change later not sure). Service was great too and server was nice and quick! read more

Disappointed on service when received an answer that hot water is reserved only for tea! My husband and I wanted to walk out, but we went with our parents so we stayed for dinner. A hidden gem! This is my second time at Lum Thai and both times I forgot to take pics because the food comes out looking so appetizing. I got the Chicken Wings as my appetizer and their portions are well worth it (8-10 wings for $10). The wings come out super crispy and juicy and the sauce is fantastic. For my entree this time, I got the Crispy Duck Ka Prao which is a signature dish. The duck was tender and flavorful, and the sauce was amazing. Highly recommend!
