The interior decor has been updated a little bit with beautiful photos featuring of some of their flavored fried Chicken. Apparently they have a garlic spicy chicken flavor but when we went to order it we were told it uses the Yangnyeom spice flavor (we were already ordering that as our other flavour). I ordered the whole chicken and got flavors curry and white creamy onion. I enjoyed the curry, which was cooked and seasoned well and delicious. So I haven't been here for almost 3 years now. It is a mom and pop shop now rather than a chain. It maintains its characteristic from before in terms of food. I'm glad they didn't start cutting corners. The chicken is the full amount rather than cutting more thinly. You get the full volume of the chicken breast and the drumstick and the thighs. For the price now, it is worth it. The sauce could be a bit thicker as I thought it was a bit too watery, but I wonder if that would make the sauce too overpowering. The chicken batter is all the same through the choices, it is the sauce that changes. The inside is definitely a mom and pop type ambiance with the stock just being exposed to the public. They do have a good bit of tables and if you want that drink and have fried chicken or tteokbokki or some instant ramen or fries, this place actually hits that ambiance - if you want more of a Korean drama scenery. I am just happy this place retained its flavor and amount through the years without being too expensive . I left happy as I got what I wanted. Oh! The mom and pop duo were nice. I was so excited to try out a new Korean Fried chicken place but shortly realized they rebranded from Choongman Chicken. I believe it is now a family owned restaurant with other delicious Korean dishes as well. We decided to get the Regular Chicken and the Spicy one. My favorite was the spicy chicken. We haven't got chicken here since the name change. So we ordered takeout and got the soy smoked chicken and Gochujang (Korean hot peppers) chicken. The chicken itself was good, love Korean chicken for their double fry and they were still pretty crunchy after bringing it home. I wish there was more smoked flavor from the soy smoked chicken. The gochujang flavor was pretty good but it could have been a bit spicier. They don't include free radish with the orders anymore. Came here with my brother for lunch, split the Tteokbokki and the Yangnyeom chicken. I've only had the frozen trader joes Tteokbokki before and this one was definitely significantly more flavorful than that version and the gochujang flavored sauce was very nice and although I realize now I am not a bit rice cake / fish cake fan I still enjoyed the fish. The Yangnyeom chicken was definitely the star of the show, before this I have only had Korean Fried Chicken from Bonchon and this was noticeably much better than that, would definitely come back just for this. We had just finished the Buffalo Combo - $43 and you get to choose 30 wings (up to three different flavors). We had 10 pieces of the original fried wings, 10 pieces of the gochujang wings, and 10 pieces of the garlic soy wings. The gochujang wings were definitely on the spicier side! The flavors were wonderful. Each bite had a strong combination of flavor, heat, and crunch from the breading. The garlic soy wings were just as tasty. Surprisingly, the wings were still crunchy. The original fried wings were so-so. These wings were definitely crunchier than the garlic soy and gochujang but there was nothing special about the regular flavor. If you like spicy, this is the place for you. If you can't handle the heat and are all about that soy garlic flavor, stick with Bonchon. I'm the latter. This was my first time trying Choong Man. We ordered online for pickup through DoorDash. Both their DoorDash page and website menu would benefit from more pictures and better descriptions - these pages were very bare and not very informative for first-timers... tikkudak, say what? Snow onion, who? Our order wasn't immediately ready at the DoorDash estimated time, but we were super prompt for pick-up, so the wait wasn't offensive. Once our order was ready, we were given everything we needed in our bag - napkins, utensils, ketchup for the fries, etc. We opted for the Soy Chicken (wings; $14) and Curry Tikkudak (drumsticks - 5 pieces; $16), along with a side of onion rings ($10) and curly fries ($5). Each chicken entree also comes with a side of pickled daikon. Between the onion rings and curly fries, get the curly fries. For $5, I wasn't expecting much, but we got a whole family-size box - definitely a steal! The onion rings were adequate (nothing special), but cost twice as much as the fries and were for a less impressive portion. As for the chicken (aka the main event), their soy garlic chicken has got some heat! If I didn't know any better, I would think it was their spicy option (it's not... apparently, their spicy is even spicier). The curry tikkudak (aka chicken that is fried and then baked) was equally spicy in my opinion. It was hard for me to discern which was spicier- spicy is spicy! The spiciness overall wasn't completely unbearable, but one piece of each was enough for me. If you have a low spice tolerance, your best bet is to stick with their plain fried chicken... but that's no fun... so go with their signature snow chicken. I didn't know that their snow onion chicken was one of their signatures (same with their tikkudak), but hindsight is 20/20. While waiting for our order, there was a giant poster on the window of their snow onion chicken - fried chicken coated in a creamy white gravy and topped with onions. It definitely caught my eye and I immediately wished that we ordered that. I will give Choong Man another shot just to give their snow onion chicken a try (onion haters, beware). Overall, their spicy chicken is not for me (to include their soy chicken), but I know my family of spice lovers would eat it up. read more

So I picked up the: Snow Onion Chicken Curly Fries Coleslaw 2 sides of the ( I believe they call them) soy scallions and the fried dumplings Everything was tops in my opinion outside of the fried dumplings. I could have done without those. Also, I didn't really end up needing the soy scallion things cause I already had onions on top of the chicken, and adding more would have been onion overload. Just a note, they asked me if I wanted pickled daikon with my order when I picked it up- to which my response was a resounding YES. How to describe the Snow Onion Chicken.... It's super crispy golden double/triple fried chicken with a topping of raw onions mixed in what I'm fairly sure is a mayo/cream based sauce. The sauce is delicious... it is also observing your waistline.... as it grows larger. But the contrast of this thick creamy sauce with the raw onions and freshy hot out of the fryer chicken is something else. On the quest for delicious Korean fried chicken we tried Choong Man Chicken. The chicken was fried crispy and the batter was delicious. We had coleslaw, rice, and curly fries. The curly fries were my favorite. They were perfectly fried, light, and melt in your mouth good. I can see why Choong Man Chicken has such great reviews. My son and daughter in law really liked their chicken and sides. I do have to admit that the chicken has a spice in the rub and it was too spicy for me. I loved the sauce on the snow onion chicken. It was sweet and tangy at the same time. The service was very good. They took all of the safety precautions. I really liked how they packed everything separately.
