Asian Nine has some of the best sushi I've had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I ordered takeout, and the process was quick, easy, and seamless. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Highly recommend!
This restaurant is located in the Rio, which is a short walk from my sister's place. I stopped by and ordered the gway tiew (pad see eaw), crispy basil duck and the crab wontons to go. While waiting, I sat at the bar and tried the Tokyo iced tea, which was just okay. My sister got the cucumber guava ginger punch, which I preferred. It was quite refreshing. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks. The crab wontons was basic, like your typical crab rangoon. The pad see eaw was delicious. I requested for it to be spicy, which they delivered! The crispy basil duck was also very tasty and flavorful! I'll definitely be returning.
Wifey and I heard about this place, so we conquered. First of all, this place has the family feel from start to finish. The service and food along with the ambiance is awesome! If you are ever in the area, please check it out, you will not be sorry!!!!
The vibe and layout of this restaurant was nice. Our server was friendly and accommodated modifications to our orders. While the drinks were tasty, they were a bit sweeter than I'd expect for a martini. I did feel as if my steak was over cooked and that it was pricier than it should have been for what I received (I ordered the crying tiger).
This is a great spot for Asian fusion. I enjoy sitting outside, in an area of Crown that has a grassy barrier between the restaurant and the street. The food and service are both really good. As a vegetarian, there are plenty of options for me. Recommended!
I usually avoid fusion places because with fusion spots they usually aren't spectacular in everything and just mediocre in everything. But their sushi surprisingly was so fresh and delicious. Everything else we ordered was average but I'm still thinking about their spicy scallop roll. Also the staff was very friendly.
Good food, outdoor seating, and service! My friend and I ordered the crab wontons, pad Thai with chicken, and spicy basil with chicken. The wontons were good, but I do wish the sauce was on the side so the skin stayed crispy. The pad Thai was flavorful, and the spicy basil had excellent flavor to it. The prices were a little higher than other Thai restaurants in the area, but I enjoyed the food and service!
Pro: outdoor seating, food, clean interior, friendly staff. Con: limited street parking, price. After playing some game at the rio we came here for some dinner. There is not many street parking but luckily there is a garage that offers free parking. The establishment offers outdoor or indoor dining. I had the drunken noodle and California rolls. The noodles were good portion size and tasted good with the spice. The rolls dip in soy sauce made a great combination. Price on the food and drink were a bit high. I had the lemonade and that alone was 5 dollars. All in all, a good Thai restaurant and I would recommend anyone to come and try atleast once.

Service was wonderful and loved the vibes of the place. My green curry was very good. My friend also enjoyed her pad Thai. Overall this place is awesome and I'd come back. I normally get Thai grill silver Spring but this place is great for a dinner date or event with coworkers.
I truly enjoy going to Asia Nine. you get a choice of Japanese and Thai with a fusion of American. When I go here we always like to eat outside. It's has a nice fresh air. See the neighborhood. Vibe. The servers and service was very good. We love to see our usual server, she always greets us with a smile. the hostess also was serving and was attentive to our request 10 out of 10, we ordered a lot of items from the dumplings to the edamame to the shrimp tempera sushi , basil string beans with fried tofu, lamb chops, and combination drunken noodle. All had unique flavors. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The sauce was a little sweet. The drunken noodles were not spicy as requested and had a great flavor. The basil, string bean, and fried tofu had a nice heat however, I feel the tofu could fried a little more. we love this restaurant for great local place.must try
I came here for a late lunch and ordered the Yellowtail Sushi Three Ways, which also comes with miso soup. I enjoyed my sushi set; the yellowtail was fresh and the portions were generous. We also ordered the fried bananas as a dessert, which came with matcha ice cream and whipped cream (and a cherry on top). The fried bananas were wrapped in a spring roll wrapper for crunch. No complaints about the food; all dishes were brought out quickly. Service, on the other hand, was minimal. Other than bringing out and refilling drinks, taking our orders, and bringing out the food, they never came to check on us. They also took the liberty of already adding gratuity to the check... and then sneakily make it look like you still need to add tip when signing the bill- so review your check carefully. It was also strange that staff members were hanging out at a back table - some were napping (blanket and all), laying down on the booth seat with their socks and shoes off, or just using their phones. There were no issues with service, it was an off-hour, and these staff members were clearly on a break, but it didn't seem professional. A room divider or curtain would be better to separate the designated employee break area from the dining room. I'm not against coming back here, but I would probably just do carryout next time because the low-key service did not enhance the experience any.

I don't really know what happened but he was loud enough to hear across the room, visibly angry, and chewing out the staff while taking pictures of his order. Something about his sushi being cut wrong. He eventually stormed out. The effect on our service? Absolutely none. Same smiles and friendly service; like nothing ever happened. I don't know how they do it. I love this place.

Came here for lunch on Wednesday. The place is pretty spacious with plenty of seating inside and out. We chose to eat outside and glad we did. Even though it was hot out, the umbrellas provided us plenty of shade and there was a beautiful breeze there for some reason. We had pork dumpling (delish). I had the drunken noodles w/chicken off regular menu. It was delicious with just enough heat. My daughter had the crispy citrus chicken w/white rice, off the lunch menu (for $13). She didn't love it because she said she tasted something in it, not curry, maybe cardamom. I thought it was good but definitely tasted a spice we don't always eat. The service was very good, their portions are generous and their prices are fair. I would go back. read more

We've tried sushi at a few other places in Gaithersburg and Rockville, but we keep coming back to Asia Nine because the fish is just so flavorful and fresh! Every time I step into this restaurant, I always say I'm going to try a different dish, but I never do! I keep ordering the chirashi bowl because it's just that good! Service is always impeccable and the cocktails are delicious! They've got a great selection of sake too. read more

I was taking a stroll in my neighborhood when I discovered Asia Nine and as a lover of Thai food, I had to see what it was all about. The inside was dim with your typical Thai restaurant setup. I opted for take out and ordered my safe tried and true, hot Basil leaves level 5 spicy (Thai Spicy). Their pad kapow with chicken was pretty watery for my standards and did not have enough spice and certainly not spicy, it was just okay. I was hoping they would knock it out the park. If I'm ever in a pinch and the restaurant was right next to me, perhaps I'd try something else on the menu but ultimately it's a no for me. read more

Food is not great, 4/10. Calamari was made out of imitation meat, NO THANK YOU. Pork & shrimp dumplings were OK. Salmon avocado sushi was fine & the the pho was just OK, felt like something was missing. Drinks are strong. Aesthetically, the restaurant is pretty. Food wasn't good enough, won't be back. read more

The food and service was amazing. Ambiance was nice too! The only thing that is stopping me from giving 5 stars is the $24 service fee. My ticket was only $91 the service fee made it $115. That couldve been the waiters tip but not once paid they bring a receipt back to sign and ask you to add a tip. That amount of service fee will eventually hurt the pockets of the wait staff, and honestly i would like to know what is a service fee of $24 even for. read more

Took my wife here for an early Mother's Day Celebration. Asian Nine is a Thai and sushi restaurant. It is located in a town center with mixed shops, restaurants, and townhomes/condos. There is ample free street parking as well as public parking garages nearby. It is tastefully decorated in modern asian decor. We had their popular crispy basil with chicken along with the sushi boat. The crispy basil chicken has spicy sweet tangy flavor. It is one of our favorite dishes on the menu. The sushi boat comes with a variety of sushi and sashimi. Everything was fresh and delicious. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. read more
Final update: In the end, I contacted this restaurant 10+ times, went to the doctor three times to get them all requested documentation showing that I indeed had food poisoning, and was told numerous times that management would be getting back to me but no one ever called me back. They really don't care. Based on my experience, I actively tell people to avoid this restaurant. Don't support business who treat customers this way. read more

Thai fried rice with pork, the pork is $6 addon they give you 10 slices of pork belly which I would say is astronaut pork belly. It's dry dry dry. This was pre cooked belly and re fried again. Not even edible it's so hard. For what seems like an upsacle asian fusion restaurant the only thing upscale here are prices. You can get this quality from Chinese take. If I could give 0 I would. No animal deserves to die twice... This pork died 3 times. read more

This is a good spot for Asian food. The shrimp tempura roll I had was really good. It was larger and more interesting than shrimp tempura rolls I've had elsewhere. The Thai steamed dumplings were also tasty. I would recommend it as an appetizer. I also had the drunken noodles with no vegetables which was decent. The waitress was friendly and helpful and I had a good experience here overall. read more

I always order their seafood pad Thai which is great. This one time I ordered the calamari as an appetizer, which I was disappointed with. Their dumplings were good and I'd order them again. Their lychee and coconut drink was really good. They were really busy on a Friday evening and their service could have been faster, but food was overall good. read more
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner out with my best friend last night. To start we enjoyed green tea and Jasmine tea along with delicious vegetable spring rolls that were perfectly filled and tasty with mild sweet and sour sauce. The calamari rings were delicious as well. Light and crispy on the outside. This restaurant serves delicious, VERY spicy crispy basil chicken. The basil was fragrant and delicious, and chicken was so light and crispy. Steamed rice was the perfect accompaniment. My friend's sizzling beef dish was served with a flame and piping hot. So flavorful and tender. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and not spicy. read more

~VEGAN REVIEW~ Some of my favorite Thai food in the DMV. The fried rice is so fresh and customizable. I always order the basil friend rice with no egg and the spring rolls. My mom got the spicy fried rice on our last visit and honestly it was way too spicy for us, please heed their warning. I've always received friendly service here. The drinks are also great. read more

First time there, First impression was not good. Although the place was pretty clean spacious and beautiful atmosphere I wouldn't care less fo come back.. We got there and waited for about 10 minutes without anybody recognized us and there was no greetings, then we were seated without menus for another 10 to 15 minutes, the restaurant was empty we were the only ones there.. Then server was just ok, she didn't seem to put her best into the service.. It took her a while to seat us, bring us the menu and come back for the orders. From my experience eating outside I would consider this place a mediocre at best. The menu was full of giod options and pretty extensive. The food was good a little to the salty side for us.. They added gratuity without telling us which something I don't mind but at least mention it and don't try scam people.. We will not come back.. read more

I started the evening going to Uncle Julio's in Rio. The wait line was too long. I didn't feel like waiting. So, I went to Crown Park. Walked around and discovered Asia Nine. I thought it's been a while since I had Thai food. I gave it a try. I walked in and waited at least 10 minutes to be recognized by the hostess to seat me. I understood she was helping a diner in front of me. I believe she was paying for her carry out. By the way the hostess never smiled during my entire time at the restaurant (approximately 1 and a half hours). I asked to be seated at the bar. There were plenty of empty seats but she sat me in a high top table. I didn't want the bartender to get out of the bar to take my order. C'est la vie. The bartender came over shortly and took my order. Hibiscus lemonade and three flavor tilapia. The drink came within minutes. The entree took 43 minutes. The bartender explained that they were swamped. 100 customers came in at once. I think a bit of exaggeration. The restaurant in my opinion couldn't accommodate 100 diners. I noticed several diners who came after me had drinks, appetizers, and entrees served before I had my dinner was served. So, not sure how to justify "we were slammed" The hibiscus lemonade was okay. A bit too sweet for me. The three flavor tilapia was nothing to brag about. Oh, it was under Chef's Specialties. I was trying to figure out the three flavored. Sweet, chili, and basil, I guess. Typically, sweet chili is considered one flavor profile. There were two fairly large sized tilapias with crunchy breading and deep fried. The tilapia itself was bland. Really needed the flavoring from the sweet chili basil sauce. The restaurant looked modern. Slick. There were plenty of servers. Two sushi chefs. I should have ordered the sushi. It wouldn't taken so long. Might have tasted better. read more

First, I love the interior of this place! Every time I come here, they are always attentive & food is always served in a timely manner. We got: Cantonese friend rice with chicken, California roll & Thai steamed dumplings. Everything was so good & flavorful. Not to mention, The portion sizes are big. They have so many options from salads, soups, sushi, rice, teriyaki, & more. This is definitely a spot for a casual but tasty meal. Highly recommend this place read more
