While waiting, I sat at the bar and tried the Tokyo iced tea, which was just okay. My sister got the cucumber guava ginger punch, which I preferred. It was quite refreshing. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks. The crab wontons was basic, like your typical crab rangoon. The pad see eaw was delicious. I requested for it to be spicy, which they delivered! Decided to venture over on this beautiful Saturday. Walked around and we decided to check this place out. It didn't seem too busy when we walked in. We were seated right away. I ordered a Mango Martini and an order of spring rolls to start. For dinner I went with the basil green beans and red peppers and added shrimp to it...my husband ordered the fried basil chicken. After sitting for about 30 mins we noticed other tables that came in after us had received their meals before us. We brought this to our server's attention and she stated our food was coming... When our food arrived it was cold. Like it had been sitting out. We were disappointed...Others when they received their food, servers also offered a variety of sauces to have with their meals but with us there was no checking in or follow up...smh...just cold inedible food...not even the sauce pairings as we saw offered to others... I couldn't enjoy my meal because there was a Rising Sun flag displayed. That flag is not just a decoration--it's equivalent to the Nazi swastika for many Asians. It symbolizes Japan's imperial army and the suffering caused during World War II. It's shocking and deeply offensive to see such a symbol in a public place. There is not many street parking but luckily there is a garage that offers free parking. The establishment offers outdoor or indoor dining. I had the drunken noodle and California rolls. Surprise surprise, another praise for our experience at Asia 9. Today, however, nothing to do with the food. Watched some jerk in an eagles jersey come whine about placing the wrong order online. I don't really know what happened but he was loud enough to hear across the room, visibly angry, and chewing out the staff while taking pictures of his order. Something about his sushi being cut wrong. He eventually stormed out. The effect on our service? Absolutely none. Same smiles and friendly service; like nothing ever happened. I was taking a stroll in my neighborhood when I discovered Asia Nine and as a lover of Thai food, I had to see what it was all about. The inside was dim with your typical Thai restaurant setup. I opted for take out and ordered my safe tried and true, hot Basil leaves level 5 spicy (Thai Spicy). Their pad kapow with chicken was pretty watery for my standards and did not have enough spice and certainly not spicy, it was just okay. I was hoping they would knock it out the park. I came here for a late lunch and ordered the Yellowtail Sushi Three Ways, which also comes with miso soup. I enjoyed my sushi set; the yellowtail was fresh and the portions were generous. We also ordered the fried bananas as a dessert, which came with matcha ice cream and whipped cream (and a cherry on top). The fried bananas were wrapped in a spring roll wrapper for crunch. No complaints about the food; all dishes were brought out quickly. Service, on the other hand, was minimal. Other than bringing out and refilling drinks, taking our orders, and bringing out the food, they never came to check on us. They also took the liberty of already adding gratuity to the check... and then sneakily make it look like you still need to add tip when signing the bill- so review your check carefully. It was also strange that staff members were hanging out at a back table - some were napping (blanket and all), laying down on the booth seat with their socks and shoes off, or just using their phones. There were no issues with service, it was an off-hour, and these staff members were clearly on a break, but it didn't seem professional. A room divider or curtain would be better to separate the designated employee break area from the dining room. I'm not against coming back here, but I would probably just do carryout next time because the low-key service did not enhance the experience any. read more

The food and service was amazing. Ambiance was nice too! The only thing that is stopping me from giving 5 stars is the $24 service fee. My ticket was only $91 the service fee made it $115. That couldve been the waiters tip but not once paid they bring a receipt back to sign and ask you to add a tip. She is packing it up!" And walks away again. My order was already packed and waiting in the shelf... I will never ever spend my money at this establishment ever. There is ample free street parking as well as public parking garages nearby. It is tastefully decorated in modern asian decor. To start we enjoyed green tea and Jasmine tea along with delicious vegetable spring rolls that were perfectly filled and tasty with mild sweet and sour sauce. I will be back! When you first walk in, you are warmly greeted by the hostess. The restaurant is bright and cozy. The decorations are an eye catcher! We were seated and were helped at a timely manner. We started off with some cocktails. All of their cocktails looked delicious!! I wish I could've tried a few! We got the coco island and one night in Bangkok. The coco island is very similar to a piña colada, so it was very sweet, milky, and had a hint of orange . The one night in Bangkok was my favorite! The drink was sweet and refreshing. For apps, we got the calamari, shrimp shumai, and yellowtail( toro) nigiri. The calamari was not the best. The breading was a tad bit bland and the actual squid wasn't very flavorful. It had a bit of an after taste. I don't recommend this, if I am going to be honest. The shumai was good, nothing too special. I did enjoy it. It was pretty standard in terms of flavor, but a solid 6.5/10. Finally, the nigiri. I was surprised by how fresh it was. I usually do not get nigiri or sushi from restaurants that do not specialize in it, but I was craving yellowtail toro. The fish was fatty, fresh, and was a prefect size. 10/10 Moving on to the main dishes, we got the pad Thai and Thai spicy fried rice. OUT OF THIS WORLD!! The pad Thai was full of flavor and the shrimp was fresh. 9/10. The star of the whole show was definitely the Thai spicy fried rice. Usually when I try "spicy" foods at restaurants, it's never that spicy, but this was SPICY, in the best way possible. 10/10. They had a wide variety of foods on their menu. I started the evening going to Uncle Julio's in Rio. The wait line was too long. I didn't feel like waiting. So, I went to Crown Park. Walked around and discovered Asia Nine. I thought it's been a while since I had Thai food. I gave it a try. I walked in and waited at least 10 minutes to be recognized by the hostess to seat me. I understood she was helping a diner in front of me. I believe she was paying for her carry out. By the way the hostess never smiled during my entire time at the restaurant (approximately 1 and a half hours). I asked to be seated at the bar. There were plenty of empty seats but she sat me in a high top table. I didn't want the bartender to get out of the bar to take my order. C'est la vie. The bartender came over shortly and took my order. Hibiscus lemonade and three flavor tilapia. The drink came within minutes. The entree took 43 minutes. The bartender explained that they were swamped. 100 customers came in at once. I think a bit of exaggeration. The restaurant in my opinion couldn't accommodate 100 diners. I noticed several diners who came after me had drinks, appetizers, and entrees served before I had my dinner was served. So, not sure how to justify "we were slammed" The hibiscus lemonade was okay. A bit too sweet for me. The three flavor tilapia was nothing to brag about. Oh, it was under Chef's Specialties. I was trying to figure out the three flavored. Sweet, chili, and basil, I guess. Typically, sweet chili is considered one flavor profile. There were two fairly large sized tilapias with crunchy breading and deep fried. The tilapia itself was bland. Really needed the flavoring from the sweet chili basil sauce. The restaurant looked modern. Slick. There were plenty of servers. Two sushi chefs. I should have ordered the sushi. We got there and waited for about 10 minutes without anybody recognized us and there was no greetings, then we were seated without menus for another 10 to 15 minutes, the restaurant was empty we were the only ones there.. There is a lot of gold and Asian/south east Asian inspired decoration. Their cocktails look good and decorated with flowers but have minimal alcohol. They have Chinese/Japanese/Thai inspired dishes.
