Stopped in for breakfast this morning. The place is not fancy, but is friendly and comfortable. You order at the counter and find a seat. The food is brought over to you. I like the low-key, friendly vibe of the place. Ordering at the counter was easy. I got a veggie omelette with egg white, home fries and an English muffin. Also ordered a coffee, which you serve yourself from a pot near the seating area. Free refills on hot drinks and soft drinks. Once I ordered, the food arrived promptly. The egg white omelette was good, filled with chopped tomato, green pepper, mushroom and onion. The home fries (a large portion!) were delicious. Just seasoned potatoes with onion, but really good. Yum. The English muffin was well toasted. And, deserving of its own comment - the coffee was darn good. Prices are reasonable. What I picked up was a single order but huge. 4 eggs over easy, perfectly cooked, 3 huge pancakes 1/2" thick yet light and fluffy, 3 rashers bacon and between home fries and hash brown potatoes, I chose hash browns. It's a mom and pop operation with friendly and efficient service. You order at the counter, grab a table and wait for them to call your name. Enjoy your meal, but don't linger too long at the table. I lived in Gaithersburg my whole life and have missed out on this hidden gem. The owners are friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and priced well for the hyper inflated world we live in today. The chicken fried steak came with many options but I chose over easy eggs biscuits instead of bread and hash browns instead of fries. Everything is fresh and yummy. The owners were honest and genuinely pleasant and engaging. I wish I remembered to take a picture of my order! I had the pancake breakfast, fluffy pancakes, crispy hash browns, turkey sausage and I chose eggs over medium. The portion and taste is worth the trip. Once I try the lunch items, I'm assuming I'll be giving that extra star. They are retro ads and are the least offensive thing imaginable. Sunday lunch, around 12:30. It's a small place but clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly and very much on top of everything despite being very busy. Country fried steak with over easy eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit. Food arrived quickly. Steak was very good, but a little chewy which I attribute to the cut of meat, not the preparation. Eggs and potatoes were perfect. The biscuit was amazing, clearly homemade by someone who knows what they're doing. Total was $13+change for a hefty plate of good food, which is a tremendous value these days. I'm a fan of this hole in the wall spot! I decided to do a pick up order one morning before work since a craving hit hard. I called ahead and picked up a sausage, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel. BLT Grill is only a few minutes away from my home so it was ready within minutes. This place is not your typical IHOP or Cracker Barrel with the decor but the food speaks for itself.....it was bomb! The size of the bagel was perfect. My friends had recommended this place in the past, it just me a while to get here. Why? I have no idea! I heard their waffles and pancakes combos are delicious so I would need to try it next time. Very reasonable prices! Not only do they serve breakfast food but also lunch choices. They're located by Roy Rogers and behind Lakeforest Mall. The owner was pleasantly nice and welcoming. I heard they get very busy in the weekends so arriving early might be the best idea. They have a few tables and chairs so there could be a wait if you're dining in. I have been here about 3 times. Breakfast here is pretty good, my favorite has been the Country Fried Steak. I have only been here on Sunday mornings and wait-times are pretty long, at least a 20 minute wait so I would recommend looking at the menu on Yelp and ordering ahead of time.
