Came for breakfast today. A simple egg white omelette, home fries and wheat bread. Also got a large coffee. The space is pretty small, but there are about a dozen tables for inside eating. I was here about a year ago and the place was pretty quiet. Same today. You order at the counter and then they call you when your food is ready. Food came pretty promptly. The omelette was a nice size, filled with green pepper, onion and tomato bits. The potatoes were well prepared and were not dried out or oily. They really are well prepared - nice sized chunks that are charred on the outside and soft on the inside. A little bit of onion in with the potatoes. The toast was toast, but it was good too. Decent coffee. It's not fancy and for milk there's a choice between half and half cups and Coffee-mate. Refills on the coffee are $1. The place isn't fancy. The best delis are the mom and pop ones. The ones that don't have the grassy walls with the silly neon lights with flowers etc. Don't let the divey or out dated deco full you. If you love a good NYC deli sub, without having to leave Maryland, you're at the right place. Get a nice cold cut sub with all the trimmings. They are too generous with the portions. It took me 1.5 days to finish. Once you come here, you'll forget about Jerseys M, or the dreadful Subway. They say their philly cheesesteak is good, one day I'll try. Friendly staff too. One of the best places to get Italian cold cut subs. I want to try some of their other offerings such as the turkey and havarti with apple slices. The staff are friendly and efficient. Was actually gonna go to Jersey Mike's, but someone's review said, "Once you go to Wow Deli, you wouldn't want to go to Jersey Mike's," so I decided to try it. I went. I tried it. It was cool, but nothing to write home about. The sandwich was on regular bread and not sub. The turkey was thick sliced meat. Idk... Go there, and try it yourself. ...didn't do anything for me. Kinda mad I didnt go to Jersey Mike's like I planned to. P.S. I need more selection of chips. Rock solid local gem of a breakfast and lunch spot. I've never had anything less than good here. Most recently, I got a turkey and provolone sub with banana peppers and a Greek salad, both of which were great. The ingredients in the sub were fresh and flavorful, with quality turkey and slightly gooey, melted provolone. It's hard to make a notably good turkey sandwich, but they did it here - I'll definitely be getting this again! Same goes for the Greek salad - again, very good, fresh ingredients, a generous amount of feta, olives, pepperoncinis, and a great dressing makes this another standout. I finally tried this place after working from home for 9 months. Previously, I am always at work while they are open. I have been twice now. Italian Cold Cut- very delicious. Definitely stood up to another favorite of mine at another deli. Turkey, swiss and bacon with thousand island dressing- my boyfriend's all time favorite BLT- plenty of bacon Bacon, egg, and cheese on white toast- love the breakfast sandwich Philly Cheesesteak- wow. I skimmed through the menu and decided on the Grilled Chicken & Pesto Wrap with no tomatoes. It was very good and very filling! The chicken was fresh and I enjoyed it. Because I enjoyed it so much I wanted to give them another try. I was craving something sweeter like honey mustard so I asked if I could customize my own wrap. At first the woman behind the counter seemed a little confused but she eventually let me. I ordered a grilled chicken wrap with provolone and honey mustard. Plain and simple! Although it was very small (my fault) and was only a little filling it was so good! The chicken was again fresh and the honey mustard was delicious! Exactly what I was looking for. You would think the Korean owners would have a little smile for their customers. This is a great local spot to grab a sandwich. I was recommended here and wasn't let down. It was a good sized wrap and a bag of chips for under $10. I ordered the French and it was loaded with turkey. My only recommendation would be to try and get some of the sauce in the middle of the wrap; it was primarily at the ends and dropped out early on. What a cute deli on Shady Grove Rd! I needed some breakfast while packing a lunch, so I decided to check this place out. I loved their bagel with cream cheese and added ham and egg. It was all in all super tasty and pretty reasonably sized! I ordered a chicken teriyaki wrap to bring for lunch but I wasn't a huge fan of it. My boyfriend tried their Sophia's sandwich and he enjoyed it as well. Price wise, I would say majority of it is reasonable and similar to what other places offer. Definitely a WOW! A full delicious breakfast (sans drinks) for three for around $20 including tip. Order online and pick up your food hot in about 20min. I have been going to Love Sushi for years (okay almost a decade) and never thought to visit Wow Deli. In my defense, they were always closed when I got sushi for dinner. But boy have I missed out. Everything was cooked to order and breads were buttered before making the breakfast sandwiches, which made things extra yummy. We got steak and eggs, croissant with sausage, egg, and cheese, and a griled cheese (the test of any deli grill LOL). Sandwiches reminded me of they style that Mom's in NOLA would probably serve up. If only they had oyster poboys, which I have not been able to find any in the DMV that compare to those you find in NOLA. Hashbrowns were still on the grill waiting for me to pick up, so they were still hot and crispy! Wow! A very good deli! How have I missed this place for so many years? I got the Turkey Avocado which was very good. Have to say I was mainly impressed by a restaurant that can put mayo on a sandwich without slathering on disgusting amounts of it (like Jersey Mike's, Subway, Quiznos, or what seems like every place these days). Turkey was moist, sandwich well balanced, good flavor all around. The pita was also very good. Onion rings were crisp and not greasy. Kind of expensive ($3.50) for a small side. The food was easy to order, and although I went during the lunch hour (around 12:15) the food was prepared quickly and there was ample seating to eat there. I ordered the 8 inch Washington cheese steak with no onions. The sandwich was huge and the fries were perfect: crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I was full way before I finished the sandwich. The price was decent too, about $11 for the combo. Also, I love fountain sodas, and this place had Coke with the perfect level of kick and free refills. Occasion: Grab a quick lunch to eat at my desk This place is almost across the street from our new corporate hq, so decided it would be a good place to grab a quick sandwich for a working lunch. Good call, yay me! Walked in and placed my order to go. The lady at the counter was really friendly and they had a lot of chip, drink, and dessert options around to grab and add. I had the small Washingtonian cheesesteak with no onions and grabbed a bag of chips which I ended up eating during the short wait for my sandwich. Don't judge me, it was almost 2pm and I was starving lol. Sandwich was ready pretty quickly and I was on my way... The sandwich was still piping hot and didn't appear to suffer at all during the 5-7 minute walk back to my office (in the cold.) The bread was fresh, the meat was nicely seasoned and the sandwich had a nice proportion of meat, peppers, cheese, and mayonnaise. I ate the entire thing - those who know me understand that this is a rarity and only happens if I REALLY LOVE what I'm eating. I like my philly cheese steak with meat, cheese and mushrooms; nothing else and they made it just fine. I also grabbed a bag of chips and a raspberry crumb cake dessert. The Philly cheese steak was good. I would go back here if I crave that again. The raspberry crumb cake was good; but cost about $2.50. I thought that was lot for dessert; I can get stuff cheaper at Starbucks... All in all this place is good to try if you want something quick. I just tried Wow Deli for the first time despite passing it a million times. I was in the mood for a sandwich and the parking lot wasn't a mess for once so I gave it a try. My sandwich was tasty and was both my lunch and dinner! Two meals out of one, that's always a plus. Service was speedy. Then again I beat the lunch rush. If you can get a parking space during the lunch hour insanity I'm sure they're still pretty speedy. It's the mess of a parking lot that's the problem. The best part? The prices! They're super reasonable. I got the French wrap (turkey and brie) for just a bit over $7. It was one of their more expensive sandwiches as mostly everything else was cheaper in the $5-$6 range. Overall great quality and a good deal compared to the overpriced options in the immediate vicinity. I should have tried this place a long time ago. As for parking, it's usually a mess. Hence why I didn't try this place a long time ago. Their food is definitely worth it. I'd just try to get here before lunch time or after the lunch hour rush. Oh! They also have breakfast. This was a solid find while out and about running errands and craving a late lunch. I was impressed with their variety of menu options with a number of freshly made sandwiches, salads and wraps. It took me a moment to decide. I wasn't in a sandwich mood so I opted for the Chicken Caesar wrap and added on a combo of onion rings and a fountain drink, of which I enjoyed a rare birch beer. The wrap was tasty, sizable and filling and there plenty of onion rings, which I thought were breaded and fried perfectly. I thought it was a pretty okay place, until I found out they bake their own sub rolls, roast their own turkey breast, don't use any processed lunch meats, use water (to steam) instead of oil on their griddles.
