Happy to support local business! A food truck expanded into its first brick and mortar store. It has California skateboard vibes. Menu is small, but they focus on local ingredients. We enjoyed two single burgers, french fries and a coney. I wish I knew what was in the steeze sauce (my guess is mustard based) don't think I'd get it on there again. The coney was good but we still love Skyline Chili's coneys more. We loved how salty the French fries are. They sell canned beer and sodas. Small interior with a few tables to dine in and two gender neutral bathrooms. The layout is a little funky and long lines could cause challenges to pick up your food. It would be nice if they added outside tables. read more

With all of the hoopla surrounding the Grand Opening of Steeze Burger's first brick-and-mortar location, I had to check it out for myself. I opted to hold off for a couple weeks, however, to avoid the long wait times. I went at the perfect time on Father's Day around 1pm. There was no line and got my order in right away. The cashier was very friendly, too! I ordered the Double Steeze combo with fries and a soda for $18. I randomly picked the 'Dirty Mountain Dew' which I was pleasantly surprised to find out was cream soda, my favorite! As for my order itself, it came out in less than five minutes (4:48). Impressive! The burger has two, perfectly seasoned, juicy patties. It comes with: cheese, onions, pickles and steeze sauce. It's delicious and perhaps the best burger I've ever had! I will definitely be returning often. It's no wonder it tops 'Best of DMV' lists. The shop only has a few tables but there are 'bar-style' seats for when it's really crowded. read more

The Grand Opening for their first brick & mortar in Potomac Village Shopping Center was on May 24, 2026. I was looking forward to it and wanted to support. Parking is free in the lot and shared with other businesses in the plaza. When I arrived early, no one was there, but that did change later - a long line eventually formed. I guess I arrived at the right time before their 11am opening. There is seating inside - 4 tables and 4 high-top tables in addition to several stools. A combined total of 30 seats. Lots of cool decor on the walls - pictures, news articles, skateboard decks. There is merch available to buy - T-Shirts, Koozies, to name a few. The menu is on the wall above in which you can order their signature burgers - Single, Double, or Triple, water & sodas - like their pop-ups minus the extra bag of chips. The burgers are a smashed patty with American cheese, onions and pickles, on a Martin's sesame seeded bun and steeze sauce. What is new to their menu is the Carlie - a burger with no bun, Fries, a Coney Dog (all beef hot dog with chili & cheese), Grilled Cheese (2 inverted burger buns with cheese) and Beer. When you place your order, you have to listen out for your name once it is ready. I already had Brunch plans elsewhere that morning, so I only got the Grilled Cheese (loved it) and my friend got a Single burger and enjoyed it. I will be back to get a full meal next time. This new location is open Thursdays to Sundays only. Hours can be found on their website. It was great to see Hunter and Noah among others, and I am glad they plan to still do pop-ups in the future. I came to their pop up on April 11th and I was so excited I've been waiting over a year to try their burger and I finally have the opportunity and I'm so excited I ordered two doubles and they're truly just pushing them out. Quality is there by the looks of it they aren't rushing through the process and letting you know the time limit. 3 people on staff and they are movinggg. You have the option of a single double or triple burger. You can get a hot dog chips and a drink if you want. Customer service is consistent and great they seem very friendly upon approach that already tells you it'll be worth it. They plan on opening their brick and mortar this year so please take the time to visit them at their new location once open. The burger is thatttt double up on the Steeze sauce it's so worth it ! 3.5 stars with the long wait. 4 stars if there was no wait. If you're wondering if the long line is worth the wait, I would say not really. The burger and fries were really good, but I would wait for the hype to go down before going back. It's pretty pricey and the fries are separate. The sauce is a regular smash burger sauce and everything tasted good, but the combination of the long wait and the price was a little bit of a let down. They had a really good system going to keep the line moving and I thankfully only had to wait about 45 minutes total. Everyone was working hard and the line moved consistently, but the hype was just too much for what I experienced. There's seating inside but it's pretty limited. I like the location though because it's close to my gym and encourages me to burn more calories so I can treat myself. read more

The Steez Burger location is new, so I expected some growing pains, but the experience was disappointing overall. The wait was excessive. We stood in line for about 35 minutes, and when we finally reached the register, we were told it would be another 25 minutes before our food was ready. At that point, we had already invested so much time that we decided to stay. On a positive note, the woman at the register was very kind and professional. Once we got our food, the value just wasn't there. The $5.50 order of fries was about the size of a small fry from McDonald's. For that price, I expected much more. Even Five Guys is known for giving generous portions. The burgers were also surprisingly small, about the size of a McDonald's double cheeseburger, and honestly, they tasted very similar. Unless the beef is premium Wagyu or Kobe and the ingredients are sourced from local farms, I don't understand the pricing. In total, we spent nearly $50 on 2 single burgers, 2 double burgers, and 1 small fry. Got an email that they were doing a popup at the Mosaic District in Fairfax, VA. Line wasn't too bad when I got there but got way worse shortly after. Grabbed a single and a double. Took about 15 minutes to get the burgers but it was well worth it. Definitely can see why they get a lot of 'best burger' praise. Seeded Martin's Potato Roll, 2 good sized smashed patties (on the double), with onions, pickles, and sauce. Delicious and it barely lasted 5 minutes. After months of hype, I had to try this burger for myself. I waited 30 minutes for it and I don't like to wait but I have to say that it was worth every minute. I couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the day and beyond. I've been back twice since my first visit. There's something about the minimal ingredients that makes it a perfect burger. I get the triple burger with "everything". In fact just writing this review is causing me to want to get it again today. Hopefully at some point the wait time will start to diminish. As far as the ambiance, there is seating available but it's not very spacious especially between the people eating, the people waiting in line to order and the people waiting for their meal. A while back I went looking for the Steeze Burger truck and found it in Gaithersburg. It was a nasty weather day and I ordered a double. It was very sloppy but given the day and rush to cook in the rain, I let it go. The burger itself was ok but nothing to write home about. A little dry, little actual beef flavor. Fast forward to a few days ago when I visited the new brick and mortar store. Service was nice and easy, waited for my double with fries to be cooked. The place was clean. Once my food arrived, I picked it up at the counter and took a table. The burger was well put together and that sesame seed bun very nice. The burger itself was as I remembered. It was not flavorful. I'm not sure if the meat just needed seasoned, and I hope that's what it is since its easily corrected, but while not bad, it was by far not the best burger I've had in the area. It was just underwhelming and a little dry. I'll stop by one more time at some point to see if it's just early days at the store front. I wish them well as I try to support our local restaurants as much as possible. read more

I have been looking forward to a visit here for a while but never was around for their pop ups in my area. We were pretty early in the line and the ordering part didn't take too long if you come ready. We ordered for a large group (double burgers, single burgers) and do wish they would add some bacon at some point. Pricing for 6 burgers/doubles was around $60ish so it wasn't too bad. We did end up waiting around 30 minutes for the food itself, perhaps because of the bigger order. The way they write on the burger covers was confusing, I wasn't sure which had no sauce or sauce or pickles or not so we had to unwrap all of them. I did love the sesame bun but I will say, I was surprised that the meat itself felt a little tasteless, like it needed some more seasoning. It definitely lacked the crispness of a classic smash burger but I will say, the cheese and Steez sauce so bring the whole thing together (along with the great pickles). I think if they just season the meat a bit more and give it a more crispy vibe, it could easily be the best burger out there. They did slightly mess up our order, giving us a burger with no sauce on the side like requested and one double sesame top bun triple burger when we ordered a double but overall a solid spot if you get in the line early. read more

Simply seasoned, no frou frou pattie smashed, and topped with cheese and onions and pickles and a tasty sauce. It really is delicious and hits the spot. The second I pulled up, I smelled the beef grilling, and it brought me straight to Summer Cookout days~ Double Burger Coney Dog They're named the Washington Post's Number 1 Burger for a REASON, these may be the best burgers I've had in the DMV to date! The Double Burger smash patties are seared something proper, it's dressed with a rich melted cheese sauce that is just a bite of delight, and the tanginess from the mustard, pickles, and onion cut through that richness really well. I don't get the hype around this spot at all. I got a double burger, and it was filling and the proportions are right, but the flavor just wasn't there. It tastes like an unseasoned patty, flavorless sauce, and not enough pickles to save it. For the quality, it's massively overpriced. $13 after tax with no fries, no chips, no drink is robbery for what you get. I wouldn't go again - it wasn't that it tasted bad, just that it was so bland and uninspiring. Been looking for this place and hubby finally found it near us. Today they were right in front of Clear Skies Meadery, also near Doggie Zone, off Gude Drive in Derwood. It's literally a tiny pop up tent, two guys and a skillet. I had a double with no pickles, hubby had a regular double. Went at 6:15pm and there was no line, which was great. This location is literally three minutes from our house, which was good since there is no seating. It's a pick up and eat in your car or take home (if you live nearby) kinda place. Paid $26 for two doubles, not really cheap but the burgers were very good. I wish they served fries too! Would eat here again! read more

When someone told me that this was the best burger in the DMV as rated by such and such I got a bit defensive - "Uhhh... have you ever heard of Sunshine Burger" and when that person replied "Oh.. no, I never heard of Sunshine Burger" I immediately felt validated. But this wasn't some arbitrary title given by a passerby, this was Tim Carman and the team at the Washington Post that awarded this honor. So, what did I think of it. I mean... I'm assuming that you can clearly see my 5 stars above the article. If not, take your left thumb on your iphone and remove it from the screen, there you will see 5 red stars. The burger is unadulterated burger bliss. The meat is local, and the freshness is forefront. There are no extravagant toppings or showy aiolis. It is lightly seasoned meat that is cooked quite perfectly on a flattop. The pickles and burger sauce are compliments and not coverups. The bun is engulfed with enough sesame seeds so that the flavor is apparent. It almost tastes as if a michelin chef was told to make their version of a Mcdonald's hamburger without it being obvious that they were a michelin chef. If you're a lover of a thinner pattied burger, there's absolutely no reason you're gonna fault any part of the experience of eating that burger. In fact, it leaves no room for such. So where do I stand on Sunshine Vs. Steeze. Well, they're two completely different products. Sunshine's burger is a thicc boy that is topped with crisp lettuce, tomato and bacon - but the burger itself is still the star of the show owing to it's big girl vibes. Each has a different place in my heart and as a wise Yelper once told me: Your heart can be big enough for two burgers. read more

Super cheeseburgers from this pop-up stand! I tried Steeze Burger after the Washington Post crowned them as the best burger in the DMV and I've been a fan ever since. I usually get three doubles and two bags of chips when I go. I don't eat red meat very often, so I really want to make it count! I just love the way everything comes together in these burgers. Nothing fancy, just straight-forward carnivore goodness. The staff is always friendly and engaging. They truly seem to love what they're doing and their positivity rubs off on everyone who eats here. A few quick watchouts. Remember that this is a pop-up stand, so seating is pretty much hit-or-miss, depending on where they're setting up that week. I prefer to catch them at microbreweries, so I can snag one of their tables and wash my burgers down with a beer (or two). Also, this is a lean operation, they only have one grill, one cook and LOTS of customers. This means that they're not really built for large orders. Best to visit them with one or two buddies. I wouldn't come here after the swim meet and order burgers for 50 kids -- or even three kids for that matter. Speaking of kids, their shoestring operation does not accommodate special orders -- no pickle, no sauce, extra cheese, etc. That's the tradeoff to get such an exceptional product at a moderate price point. Often setup at local breweries their burgers are the perfect treat to pair with your cold beverage of choice. This pop-up has become pretty popular all over my IG feed. The pictures definitely make you drool, especially when you're craving a juicy burger. Hunter seems to have gotten it just right! I saw that he was going to be at Two Story Chimney Ciderworks and told my husband we were going. When we got there, he said he was already about halfway through his burgers, so when I went back out there, maybe about 45 mins later, I was super lucky to have gotten the last 2 doubles. Super polite and great customer service. They didn't have GF buns, so I ordered without a bun and it was DELICIOUS!! The burgers are juicy and cooked to perfection. They have simple toppings, onion, pickles and cheese, and his special steezeburger sauce....nothing overboard, but just right! Was excited to try this burger out as I heard it was voted best in the DMV not that long ago. Finally got to try them as they did a collab with one of my favorite local BBQ spots - Sloppy Mamas. I will say it is very very Instagramable. It is food porn 100%. It was good but can't say its the best burger I've ever had or even my favorite in the DMV. That honor goes to Duke's grocery/Lucky buns for me. I wouldn't drive an hour to MD for this but if I am nearby, for sure. read more

Steeze Burger's recently voted as the best burger in DMV by Washington Post. They don't really have a set location as they move around a lot, so you can check their schedule on IG. Due to the hype, typical wait time's around 30 mins. Double ($11) - 2x 3 oz Patties, Onions, American Cheese, Pickle & Homemade Sauce. You should always get at least the double as the single don't have good meat to bun ratio. There's also the Triple for $14, which's my go-to. It's a good, simple burger overall. Meat's very enjoyable as the patties include bone marrows & then smashed with onion. The sauce blends well with the burger. I do disagree with it being as the best burger in DMV, but it's up there in the top 5. read more
