I'd call this an elevated fast casual burger spot. The woman taking our order was very friendly. The inside is clean and I love the neon sign logo! They also have really cool merch. I love the T-shirt designs. Upon walking in, it did wreak of smoke from making the burger patties and fries - so you might leave smelling like it, if you are eating there, but don't let that deter you from an enjoyable and delicious burger! The patty was cooked perfectly - flavored well, and moist. The bun was very nice and I loved the sesame seeds on top. The fries were very very good. I really loved the fries. I would trust that any Fry connoisseur would say these are up there on the list of favorite fast casual fries - they were super crunchy and enjoyable! They have condiments available in those small pouches including mayo, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar. This is a solid burger and fries spot! It reminds me of a good fast food burger but even better. I was really excited when Steeze Burger got their first brick and mortar location. Named the best burger in the DMV by the Washington Post in 2023, we were ready, willing, and hungry to try their food. Service was great. We were waited on right away and they were very nice about making changes on menu items. One diner didn't want any onions and I wanted my sauce on the side. It took about ten minutes for our orders to be called. The restaurant itself isn't very big. There are a few low top and high top tables. The restaurant was bright with red and yellow colors. There was some cute wall art. Our favorite was the fries. We couldn't stop eating them. They were hot and crunchy. You could tell they just came out of the fryer. They were amazing. We really liked the hamburgers. We had two double burgers and one single burger. My group's consensus was the sauce on the burgers was a little too overpowering for the burgers. The burgers were cooked well and truthfully, there were no leftovers. We enjoyed our burgers. I would like to try their chili dogs next. But, those fries are fabulous! read more

The burger itself is decent, but nothing about it really stood out or made it memorable. I still use Shake Shack as my gold standard comparison for a solid smash burger, and Steeze just doesn't hold up to that bar--especially considering what they charge for it. My biggest issue was the house sauce. Like a few other reviewers have pointed out, that mustard sauce is completely overpowering, tart, and sour. It takes over the entire burger and drowns out the meat. The one bright spot here was the fries--they were great, perfectly seasoned, and super crispy. Happy to support local business! A food truck expanded into its first brick and mortar store. It has California skateboard vibes. Menu is small, but they focus on local ingredients. We enjoyed two single burgers, french fries and a coney. I wish I knew what was in the steeze sauce (my guess is mustard based) don't think I'd get it on there again. The coney was good but we still love Skyline Chili's coneys more. We loved how salty the French fries are. They sell canned beer and sodas. Small interior with a few tables to dine in and two gender neutral bathrooms. The layout is a little funky and long lines could cause challenges to pick up your food. The Grand Opening for their first brick & mortar in Potomac Village Shopping Center was on May 24, 2026. I was looking forward to it and wanted to support. Parking is free in the lot and shared with other businesses in the plaza. When I arrived early, no one was there, but that did change later - a long line eventually formed. I guess I arrived at the right time before their 11am opening. There is seating inside - 4 tables and 4 high-top tables in addition to several stools. A combined total of 30 seats. Lots of cool decor on the walls - pictures, news articles, skateboard decks. There is merch available to buy - T-Shirts, Koozies, to name a few. The menu is on the wall above in which you can order their signature burgers - Single, Double, or Triple, water & sodas - like their pop-ups minus the extra bag of chips. The burgers are a smashed patty with American cheese, onions and pickles, on a Martin's sesame seeded bun and steeze sauce. What is new to their menu is the Carlie - a burger with no bun, Fries, a Coney Dog (all beef hot dog with chili & cheese), Grilled Cheese (2 inverted burger buns with cheese) and Beer. When you place your order, you have to listen out for your name once it is ready. I already had Brunch plans elsewhere that morning, so I only got the Grilled Cheese (loved it) and my friend got a Single burger and enjoyed it. I will be back to get a full meal next time. This new location is open Thursdays to Sundays only. Hours can be found on their website. It was great to see Hunter and Noah among others, and I am glad they plan to still do pop-ups in the future. I came to their pop up on April 11th and I was so excited I've been waiting over a year to try their burger and I finally have the opportunity and I'm so excited I ordered two doubles and they're truly just pushing them out. Quality is there by the looks of it they aren't rushing through the process and letting you know the time limit. 3 people on staff and they are movinggg. You have the option of a single double or triple burger. You can get a hot dog chips and a drink if you want. Customer service is consistent and great they seem very friendly upon approach that already tells you it'll be worth it. They plan on opening their brick and mortar this year so please take the time to visit them at their new location once open. The burger is thatttt double up on the Steeze sauce it's so worth it ! There was a lot of fanfare around the opening so we decided to give it a try. It's fine. The space is oddly set up, with the bathrooms in a hallway leading to the register, where you order and pick up. They need some ventilation, as the smoke from the grill billows into the waiting space. They could have used an interior designer with space planning experience. The menu is sparse, and you can order a burger, a double burger, a triple burger, a burger without a bun, a hot dog, or grilled cheese, and fries. That's it. There is no lettuce or tomato, no mayonnaise, no option of cheese. The drink selection is like 4 flavors of Mountain Dew, a few sodas, bottled water, and beer or White Claw. I'm not saying they need an extensive menu, but the assertion seems that a burger comes in one setting. That would be okay if it was the best burger I'd ever had, but it's not. Maybe just because I prefer some mayonnaise and cheddar and lettuce and tomato and that wasn't available. Thankfully, I got the sauce on the side because it had a strong mustard flavor and I don't like mustard. I'm sure it's a nice addition if you do like that flavor. The bun was particularly good, but the ratio of meat on a single was off so a double is probably a better bet. The fries were good also. The staff was reasonably friendly. Tap water is available but you have to ask for it. They'd do themselves a favor to put a pitcher and some cups out front. The space is clean. The decor is cute. A little '90s skater retro. With all of the hoopla surrounding the Grand Opening of Steeze Burger's first brick-and-mortar location, I had to check it out for myself. I opted to hold off for a couple weeks, however, to avoid the long wait times. I went at the perfect time on Father's Day around 1pm. There was no line and got my order in right away. The cashier was very friendly, too! I ordered the Double Steeze combo with fries and a soda for $18. I randomly picked the 'Dirty Mountain Dew' which I was pleasantly surprised to find out was cream soda, my favorite! As for my order itself, it came out in less than five minutes (4:48). Impressive! The burger has two, perfectly seasoned, juicy patties. It comes with: cheese, onions, pickles and steeze sauce. It's delicious and perhaps the best burger I've ever had! I will definitely be returning often. It's no wonder it tops 'Best of DMV' lists. The shop only has a few tables but there are 'bar-style' seats for when it's really crowded. read more

3.5 stars with the long wait. 4 stars if there was no wait. If you're wondering if the long line is worth the wait, I would say not really. The burger and fries were really good, but I would wait for the hype to go down before going back. It's pretty pricey and the fries are separate. The sauce is a regular smash burger sauce and everything tasted good, but the combination of the long wait and the price was a little bit of a let down. They had a really good system going to keep the line moving and I thankfully only had to wait about 45 minutes total. Everyone was working hard and the line moved consistently, but the hype was just too much for what I experienced. There's seating inside but it's pretty limited. I like the location though because it's close to my gym and encourages me to burn more calories so I can treat myself. read more

This may actually be the best burger in the DMV. I am generally skeptical of hype, and taste is so subjective, so I went into my first Steeze Burger experience intrigued but not a true believer. I'm happy to say my skepticism was unfounded, Steeze Bruger is the real deal, and in my mind it clearly blows any other burger place around out of the water. What I noticed immediately was the quality of the ingredients. This is locally sourced beef and you can taste the quality. Apparently they mix in a special bland of bone marrow which gives the burgers this unique buttery rich goodness. The patties also have this crisp sear like with smash burgers, but are juicy and meaty like a proper 4th of July burger on the grill should be, and are supported by a substantial sesame seed bun that holds everything together. The cheese, relish, and steeze sauce, along with these itty-bitty grilled onions that explode like little flavor crystals, all combine into a symphony of burger greatness that earned the chef himself the moniker "Mozart of Cheeseburgers" (Iannelli, 2024). Every time I have gone the wait is 5-10 minutes, the staff are friendly and respectful and feel like part of the community, and the owner is slinging up burgers himself and showing his appreciation to the customers. Got an email that they were doing a popup at the Mosaic District in Fairfax, VA. Line wasn't too bad when I got there but got way worse shortly after. Grabbed a single and a double. Took about 15 minutes to get the burgers but it was well worth it. Definitely can see why they get a lot of 'best burger' praise. Overall, it was fine. Burger was pretty good and the fries were average. Soda cans were expensive like everyone else has mentioned. The space is way too cramped though. The line for people waiting for their food looked like the line to order. Both lines blocked the restrooms. Removing the high top closest to the front might alleviate that. If you forget to grab ketchup/napkins, you have push past everyone to get the packets by the pick-up area. They should definitely put some out in the seating area. Obviously they need to work within the constraints of the space but a few small changes would help with that. read more

The Steez Burger location is new, so I expected some growing pains, but the experience was disappointing overall. The wait was excessive. We stood in line for about 35 minutes, and when we finally reached the register, we were told it would be another 25 minutes before our food was ready. At that point, we had already invested so much time that we decided to stay. On a positive note, the woman at the register was very kind and professional. Once we got our food, the value just wasn't there. The $5.50 order of fries was about the size of a small fry from McDonald's. For that price, I expected much more. Even Five Guys is known for giving generous portions. The burgers were also surprisingly small, about the size of a McDonald's double cheeseburger, and honestly, they tasted very similar. Unless the beef is premium Wagyu or Kobe and the ingredients are sourced from local farms, I don't understand the pricing. In total, we spent nearly $50 on 2 single burgers, 2 double burgers, and 1 small fry. After months of hype, I had to try this burger for myself. I waited 30 minutes for it and I don't like to wait but I have to say that it was worth every minute. I couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the day and beyond. I've been back twice since my first visit. There's something about the minimal ingredients that makes it a perfect burger. I get the triple burger with "everything". In fact just writing this review is causing me to want to get it again today. Hopefully at some point the wait time will start to diminish. As far as the ambiance, there is seating available but it's not very spacious especially between the people eating, the people waiting in line to order and the people waiting for their meal. I have been looking forward to a visit here for a while but never was around for their pop ups in my area. We were pretty early in the line and the ordering part didn't take too long if you come ready. We ordered for a large group (double burgers, single burgers) and do wish they would add some bacon at some point. Pricing for 6 burgers/doubles was around $60ish so it wasn't too bad. We did end up waiting around 30 minutes for the food itself, perhaps because of the bigger order. The way they write on the burger covers was confusing, I wasn't sure which had no sauce or sauce or pickles or not so we had to unwrap all of them. I did love the sesame bun but I will say, I was surprised that the meat itself felt a little tasteless, like it needed some more seasoning. It definitely lacked the crispness of a classic smash burger but I will say, the cheese and Steez sauce so bring the whole thing together (along with the great pickles). I think if they just season the meat a bit more and give it a more crispy vibe, it could easily be the best burger out there. They did slightly mess up our order, giving us a burger with no sauce on the side like requested and one double sesame top bun triple burger when we ordered a double but overall a solid spot if you get in the line early. read more

I've been a Steeze Burger fan since they just had their pop up locations, I'm so so so happy and excited they have an actual restaurant now. It's all of the joy of a very tasty, very fresh burger with none of the trials and tribulations of setting off my smoke detector and making my home smell like hamburger for several days. The staff here is so kind and friendly as well, they always remember me and are happy to see my young son who gets so excited seeing everyone cook in the open kitchen. A while back I went looking for the Steeze Burger truck and found it in Gaithersburg. It was a nasty weather day and I ordered a double. It was very sloppy but given the day and rush to cook in the rain, I let it go. The burger itself was ok but nothing to write home about. A little dry, little actual beef flavor. Fast forward to a few days ago when I visited the new brick and mortar store. Service was nice and easy, waited for my double with fries to be cooked. The place was clean. Once my food arrived, I picked it up at the counter and took a table. The burger was well put together and that sesame seed bun very nice. The burger itself was as I remembered. It was not flavorful. I'm not sure if the meat just needed seasoned, and I hope that's what it is since its easily corrected, but while not bad, it was by far not the best burger I've had in the area. It was just underwhelming and a little dry. I'll stop by one more time at some point to see if it's just early days at the store front. I've been wanting to try these smash burgers for a LONG time and I finally got the chance to hitup one of their pop-ups and try Steeze! The second I pulled up, I smelled the beef grilling, and it brought me straight to Summer Cookout days~ Double Burger Coney Dog They're named the Washington Post's Number 1 Burger for a REASON, these may be the best burgers I've had in the DMV to date! The Double Burger smash patties are seared something proper, it's dressed with a rich melted cheese sauce that is just a bite of delight, and the tanginess from the mustard, pickles, and onion cut through that richness really well. Don't sleep on the Hot Dog, that was also a nice bite! The staff are super friendly and hospitable as well, vibes eating outside at BabyCat Brewery were really nice too~ read more
