Usually burgers and fries are followed by a food coma, but this feels healthier without compromising taste. I loved the Char'd sauce (kinda reminds me of honey mustard) and the crispiness of the chicken is everything. This would've been amazing hot and fresh in person. Is it pricier? Got take out. The food was put in a box and then put in the bag that's open. I wish the take out was better sealed. I'm surprised they didn't have the option to add bacon. I got the hot chard burger and the duck fat fries. The fries were good, nothing special. The burger was really messy. Didn't have much structure. Burger tasted good but hard to eat. I do wish they carried regular Coke products because I'm not familiar with some of the drink selections they offer. Prices seemed a little high, especially for the drinks and cheeseburger. The fries were very good, and the employees were hospitable and professional. The burger had good flavor, but the beef patty was a little too chewy and fatty for my taste. I also noticed some connective tissue in the meat. Overall, I will return, but I'd like to see some improvement in the quality and texture of the beef patties. I like a good burger, every now and again. I was a fan of Burger Fi (which this place used to be); in fact I wish it would come back. I'm not a fan of the smashed burger concept, but that's what's on offer here. Not a dealbreaker, just not my preference. They offer chicken tenders, fries and onion rings that are fried in duck fat. I thought that was very interesting, so I had to try it. I've been twice. My first visit was a couple of months ago I had a single Char'd along with fries and a drink. With tax and tip it was $25. Forget the price, I wasn't all that impressed with the meal - the patty was about the size of a McDonald's hamburger. Given the area, it's about what to expect for lunch - but it wasn't a wow moment. I decided to give it another try last week; this time I opted for the 3pc chicken tenders and fries, with a drink. Came to about $25; the tenders were crispy and juicy, but I didn't love them. Fries were the same - maybe its me, but I didn't love them either and I have to wonder if the duck fat had anything to do with it? I've only ever heard of it being used - and that was in a John Wick movie, I don't know anything about the practice itself. So, I've been twice and I've not been overly impressed with either visit, so I'll probably go to the Five Guys on the Pike if I get a hankering for a burger, or just pick something else. Halal beef seems to be trending in restaurants that are opening in our area. Char'd is no exception! Char'd is known for their grass fed beef, duck fat fries, and no seed oil used in their cooking. So, I was excited to try their food. You can give your order at the counter and the gentleman who waited on us was very nice and helpful. They do not have gluten free buns, but they do have lettuce cups, where they put hamburgers or cheeseburgers on a large slice of lettuce. Unfortunately, for our order they sent out both of our orders on buns. But, the restaurant remade our order with the lettuce cups pretty quickly. The fries were fabulous. We were both big fans of the duck fat fries. The hamburgers were good too. But, like other reviewers, I agree, the prices are very high. I paid $36 dollars for 2 single burgers, one order of fries, and one water. With tip it was $40. The place is modern decor, with both outside and indoor seating. I really liked the wall art. My husband found a spot to parallel park across the street and the employee, Ryan, had everything packed, including the sauces, ready to go. It was lunch hours, but perhaps a slow day as no one was dining in when I stopped by. The restaurant was clean and from my very brief interaction with Ryan, service was great. The food was delicious! We ordered two double Burgers, two orders of the Duck Fat Fries, and one order of the 5-piece Chicken Fillets. I do not recall having Duck Fat Fries before and wow, I was not disappointed. They were so crispy, salty, and a little sweet. I thought the burgers were worth trying, but my favorite had to be the chicken. Hardly believable-nearly $70 for 3 tiny patties that were tasteless, 2 orders of fries, small-med in size and $3 for a container of water-no tap water available. Orders not done properly-no pickles on one burger. No utensils for the lettuce burger. In all it was a total rip off and they will never see me again. I've been twice now and I'm a big fan of the grass-fed halal beef burgers: IDK it's like kind of sweeter and more robust than 5 Guy's or Burger-fi. The duck fat-fried fries were also awesome: hot and crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, not like the "droopy starch noodles" you get sometimes at other joints because they get impatient and take the fries out too soon! Just tried Char'd for the first time. I got the 5 chicken filets and the seasoned fries. As a lover of chicken/fried chicken, I must say, theirs is excellent. The seasoning on the fries was also outstanding and pretty much what you might expect from Nashville hot chicken dry rub. Where they lost points was two issues with sauce. First, they didn't give me the (original) sauce that comes with the fries. Second, one of the three chicken sauces they gave me was wrong, giving me ranch instead of the buffalo ranch I ordered. While the ranch was fine, I definitely wanted to try the original sauce. I order takeout quite frequently and I definitely need to check the orders more regularly because having something wrong with it is no longer the exception to the rule. It was a snowy Thursday after two 80 degree days, thought I would try this new burger place since I was in the area. Went there around 1:00pm, maybe three groups of customers eating at tables, and no employee in sight at the order counter. I had time to "study" the menu then finally said "hello" a few times trying to get someone's attention to come take my order but still no one showed up. Finally, one of the cooks in the back area saw me and sent someone out to assist me. No greetings, no smile, no "sorry to keep you waiting", the gentleman just asked for my order. I don't expect a lot but, come on, you are a new burger joint and this is your customer service?? Moving on, I order my burger to-go, wait about 5min for order, then I am handed a fairly large bag that is open at top, and inside is a little cardboard tray, no lid, with my burger placed in between a flimsy paper sleeve that is not even closed or wrapped up. By the time I got back to my car, the patty and the top bun and slide out of the little sleeve while the bottom bun and condiments were still in the sleeve. And everything was now cold and messy! How hard would it be to wrap up a to-go order in some foil or something to keep it together and not all exposed to the elements!!!!! As for the burger, it was fine, but not $13 fine!!! I would normally give this a 3 for the food quality, but loses a star because of the service. Food. I paid over 24 bucks for a double charred burger and fries. That's steep. The burger is a glorified big mac. There's nothing special about it. Its 2 dollars more than their regular double cheeseburger and all it adds is lettuce, onions and charr'd sauce. A double bacon cheeseburger at 5 guys cost less and its far superior to this burger. Plus, all the above toppings are included AND you get bacon. Fries. "Duck Fat Fries". I'm dubious about this claim, but even if it is, the fry quality is awful. The potatoes doesn't taste fresh. Although its hot, it taste industrial and mass produced. Its basic. But they want 6.99 for this. For 5.99, you get the combo with way more and SUPERIOR fries at Five Guys and a drink with that as well. If you 're in the area and want fries, turn the other direction and go to Roaming Rooster. Again, far superior fries, 2 dollars less. This place is way overpriced for what you get. This part gives it a 3. Why they lose an additional star. 1st. I asked for no pickles. They put pickles on it. 2nd Their "to go" is quite ineffective. They literally put the burger and fries in a box without a lid and then in a bag. The bag is not sealed in any way, so it gets cold fast. Worse, they throw napkins over the top of it which dirties the napkins and makes them mostly useless. And for some unknown reason, they decided to put a napkin on the bottom of the burger which by the time i got to it, was soggy and sticking to the burger. Unless there are some serious perks, there is no reason to come here for a burger when you have far superior options within a 1/2 mile circle. One interesting aspect is they appear to be open until midnight. That's great as the area is pretty sparse with late night dining, but again, for the less money, there is Z-burger in Bethesda that opens late (as late as 4am on the weekends!) that has superior burgers and fries for about 6 bucks less. read more

I saw this place was opening up and finally got a chance to try it. Got a double burger and a single burger, side of fries, boylan Diet Coke and the mint chocolate milkshake. The burgers were absolutely great, phenomenal. The fries were perfectly crispy great texture and it all tasted clean. The milkshake definitely could've used more mint there was barely any mint flavor. It was more like cookies and cream milkshake, still very good. All in all was like $53 with $3 tip, we dined in and ordered at the kiosk (easy) Good atmosphere overall, nice staff & the dining area was clean. Music was very sad for some reason? lol we went on in the evening around 8pm (3/20). The price is definitely steep but the food is great.
