Friendly, genuine service made this a wonderful place to celebrate my birthday. I met up with a friend to catch up, and from the moment I arrived, the experience felt welcoming and relaxed. The hostess was warm and accommodating, offering to seat me while I waited for my friend. Once she arrived, we were promptly shown to a comfortable booth in the dining room. The floor-to-ceiling windows filled the space with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. We started with the cheesesteak spring rolls (three per order), which were delicious. They tasted exactly as advertised--gooey cheesesteak filling wrapped in a perfectly crispy spring roll. For our entrees, my friend ordered the short ribs with broccoli instead of risotto, while I chose the Cajun shrimp pasta. The short ribs came with two generous pieces and were incredibly tender. My friend, who always orders short ribs whenever they're on a menu, was thoroughly impressed. The Cajun shrimp pasta was just okay. While it included a generous portion of nicely sized shrimp and the sausage added some much-needed flavor, the dish overall fell short of my expectations. The pasta was cooked slightly past al dente, and I was hoping for more of the bold, spicy kick you'd expect from a Cajun dish, but the flavors never really came through. To top off the evening, our server surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert, allowing me to choose anything on the menu. That was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cheesecake, which was served in a half mason jar with whipped cream, a chocolate "Happy Birthday" plaque, and a candle. I requested the blueberry compote on the side since I wasn't sure we'd enjoy it. While it ended up being a bit sweeter than our preference, it complemented the tart cheesecake filling nicely. The only thing that caught me off guard was that the cheesecake was served warmer than expected. On a hot summer evening, I was anticipating a chilled dessert. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. They ran out of the Caymus Red Blend wine the Manager told me that a group had purchased 4 bottles, surprised that the restaurant didn't have at least a case since it was wine day. The Firecracker Shrimp are good but more of the shell should be removed before cooking, if you love crab cakes this is not the place to order them. When I commented that the entree would get cold while we ate the soup all we got was a shrug and she walked away. Even the soups weren't all served at the same time. The flavors were perfect, and I was completely captivated. I loved this restaurant. My bf and I ordered dinner the other night and if you frequent here you know it's not cheap. I was expecting quality and got subpar. I reached out and was speaking to the back end and was told that they were sorry for the quality and quantity of food and that they would mail me a gift card. I am attaching a photo of receipt of how much we ordered. We ordered a chocolate cake, the photo online showed a massive slice of cake, ours looked as if someone cut half of it off where the cake is supposed to be pointed. $12 for half a cake. My bfs meal was supposed to come with two sides. He ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were in with the steak and it was a small portion that looked like a small ice cream scoop, ribeye ($49.00). We did not get the Cole slaw. We ordered a house side salad. It was literally a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce thrown in a bowl with some of the sides. ($14.00) I ordered the steak frites (34.00) the fries were fine, my steak had these weird pieces (see photo) inside, that were veins or ligaments but def not edible and very chewy and gross. I chewed a few pieces and kept having to over chew and then would spit out the pieces because it was rubbery, after the second piece I noticed the texture and then spit it out, then saw whatever it was that was causing the texture and issue. Seeing that immediately made me lose my appetite. So I was left hungry and turned off by my meal and filled up on calamari and fries. I have ordered this before and it usually comes with a nice amount of slices. Mine came with four pieces of sliced steak. We ordered the calamari and had no complaints. The back end comes to my house and drops off a GC of $25.00! Which to me is an insult. For that they can keep their cheap cop out. I will not be back. We spent $134.00 and tipped $19.00 for a take out order. And all they could give us back for a terrible experience and quality of food was $25.00?! Their salad alone was $14. The cake is $12. So basically come back spend more money and we will cover one simple thing but several of your items were sub par and or gross. I would not recommend. This restaurant took a lot of money and did the bare minimum to fix the issue and threw a minimum amount to appease the customer. But didn't mind taking my hard earned money, which I will now spend elsewhere. I also will be mailing back the card. Whoever came to my condo to drop off the gift card came at midnight. Food was very good and exceeded expectations. Dishes came in hot, well plated and a plentiful. Prices are mid range. Restaurant is located at Kentlands where there are many good dining options. We had a Mediterranean chicken risotto, a chicken Milanese Alfredo, a crab coated haddock. They were all outstanding dishes. The kitchen knew how to prepare white meat and seafood that are succulent and flavorful. The decibel level can be a bit loud but still manageable. That makes it so easy for people with gluten free allergies to get tasty meals. Service was great! Our waitress was exceptional and had a great sense of humor. It did take a little while to get our meals, but when you have to take extra precautions for allergies, that is understandable. We ordered the burger, which was huge and well cooked. We ended up waiting closer to 30 minutes and weren't sat until we started waiting inside. It was super hectic night it seemed with a lot of larger parties coming in. They had a lunch special where you can pick 2 items from their list of soup, salad, and sandwiches which was great value and a good lunch size if you're not too hungry. We've dined here about half a dozen times here now and it's been a pretty solid experience overall. The apps and entrees are generally tasty and flavorful. I personally like the variety of the menu. One consistent standout is the MAXX Burger. It's well-seasoned and juicy, and the sauce is amazing. And the staff are generally friendly. Having said that, I was very disappointed with my recent order of the Lobster and Shrimp Pasta. For a $40 dish, I expected a much higher standard. There were absolutely no visible pieces of lobster and a total of five shrimps in the entire plate. It was so basic and it might as well be called "Shrimp Pasta" and cost $25 at most. I took the time to fill out the customer survey the restaurant requested but never received any acknowledgment or response. Maybe it's just an automated procedure that's disregarded. We generally enjoyed our experiences and will probably continue to dine here. I just hope the restaurant adds the ingredient that's specified in the name and value customer feedback surveys more in the future. read more

The burger was cooked perfectly (medium rare, as requested) and was very flavorful (even the bun was good, which isn't always true for GF bread products). Truffle fries were yummy. That was the first and the last time I ever go to Burtons. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, it was very, very dry. In fact, there was practically no sauce on it. When I asked the server for some additional sauce, she came back and explained that the chef Said that there would be a four dollar charge for the extra sauce. I was surprised because I've never had to pay extra for not liking a meal before. Eventually, the manager came over and apologized and some extra Alfredo sauce was brought to our table. Apparently. The chef was actually one of the managers who was adamant about the sauce. But we were told we would not be charged extra for my sauce. Honestly, the sauce didn't make it taste good. I barely ate it. I don't know if it was because I was already upset because it was actually just really not good. I was offered a free dessert as and I quote the server- This will make up for it. We will give you dessert. Nothing could make up for the bad taste in my mouth from having to argue for additional sauce for my meal. Let alone for the bad taste of the food. In the end, they did take the cost of my uneaten meal off of the bill, It was explained that the calculation for the suggested tip was based on what the check would have been had the free dessert not been offered, and had the free inedible meal not been free. And what made it even nicer is that the server stood there while I made my tip selection. Oh sure, she said the tip wasn't mandatory as she stood hovering over watching. Yes the water refills were plentiful. And nobody else at my table was as disappointed as I in their meal, but it was just a rotten experience. I was not at all interested in having the two managers play good cop, bad cop, or having the server explain every aspect of the conversation she had with the chef. The color was not inviting had no flavor many of the shredded pieces of beef were hard. The colored looked as though the entire dish was burned. The butternut squash soup was runny not creamy no salt watery in fact. I did not send it back. Butternut squash usually is creamy a hint of sage and not thick but not runny NO flavor truly disappointed.
