We have been here many times from birthday celebration to just a dinner out. Service is always good The dishes are seasoned and perfectly cooked. Besides the normal menu, there is a monthly specials menu. Some of our favorites are golden triangles, crab rangoon, and brussel sprouts salad to start. We have been coming here for years, and it is our favorite in the area. We went in last night and it was closer to closing, but it still did not disappoint at all. The outdoor seating is nice and the whole experience has a nice vibe. Inside can be a little bit loud, but that is to be expected. The food has always been outstanding. I used to get drunken noodles but have now tried many things on the menu. My new favorite is the Lad Na, which is amazing. If you like duck, the duck roll is extremely good as an appetizer. We have tried most of the appetizers and honestly cannot pick one over the other, so it just depends on that evening and what we are in the mood for. Perfectly fried and meaty and the sauce they serve it with paired well with the fish. Chicken Satay: 9/10. The chicken was very moist and not dry like most places make them. The peanut sauce was DELISH. Perfect amount of sweetness and texture. Yum! Beef stir fried with veggies: 7/10. The beef is beefy, didn't really like the flavor and it was mostly veggies than meat. This is very upsetting because I come here often with my family. Today, my daughter and I came in and asked for a booth. The first booth was being cleaned so the waitress told us it will be a few minutes. A couple came in after us and the waitress seated them in our booth. It felt very racist and I'm disappointed. The food was enjoyed by anyone in my party and for me, the veggie garden roll smelled fishy and tasted funny and the cashew/veggie entree I had was soupy and bland. Finally, our server was not service oriented in any way and the restrooms were filthy and smelled foul. I started with this drink called the Noel (or whatever it was!) and it was super refreshing. For dinner, I got some shrimp dish and it was seriously good - the shrimp were cooked perfectly. It had been a while since we frequented Thai Tanium and they were quite busy on Friday night! We started with our favorite appetizer there: the duck roll which is always delicious. You could get an appetizer and entrée and dessert but the dessert were these fried bananas that were not good. The restaurant was pretty busy and our waitress was nice. we ordered a lot of fun things from fried tofu triangles to satay chicken to papaya salad. I will say the papaya salad was pretty spicy and no one could eat it at the table. I did send it back and received the chicken satay which was excellent. I also ordered the fried tofu pad Thai and fried tofu with string beans. both were really good. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five was, the papaya salad being too spicy and not seeing our waitress for most of the dinner and having to get someone else to help us. read more

The curry had really good flavor, as did the chicken; although the chicken was kinda soggy by the time I got it. Portion sizes were kinda small, but consistent with other Thai places. Haven't had much Thai food in the Gaithersburg area, but I have had the pleasure of visiting Thai Tanium a few times with some other MoCo friends. Absolutely love the name of the restaurant, and it's in a good location near the Kentlands neighborhoods with easy to find parking around the corner. For food, this visit I had the Crab Rangoons and the Panang Curry with Chicken. The crab rangoons were tasty, crispy texture with a nice creamy filling on the inside, but there was a lot of residual oil on the rangoons, so each bite was a bit greasy. Perhaps they just didn't strain it long enough after frying and before plating, but not a huge deal. The panang curry was delicious and very flavorful, the amazing flavors of the coconut milk mixed with the spices and the meat, is a fantastic combo with some white rice. Portions for the curry are pretty good too, enough that we had to get some leftovers to go, which is always nice for the next day! read more

My first time trying this place because of the prices. I love that this place didn't raise their dishes at an unbearable amount post-COVID like other Thai places so I wanted to give it a try!
