I came in Wednesday at 12:58. It was packed and their was q long wait time. Which they let everyone know in line. I decided to wait as others left. I did wait a long time for my food, but what changed my perspective and my attitude was the nicest lady. I don't know if she is a trainer or the manager, but after the rush she went to EVERY SINGLE person in the store; and their was a lot of us, and checked in, apologized and thanked us for our patronage. My wife and I have been to a few Firehouse Sub franchises but never gave a thought about going back to any particular one until we visited their Temecula branch. We have become regular customers since our first visit about three months ago. We found their sandwich selection to cover a wide variety. Although reluctant to try a warm Italian sub we both tried one and found it to be one of our favorites. Each sandwich comes with a pretty large crisp pickle that is always fresh and delicious. The best part of their place is the friendly woman that runs the place and that includes her young staff. All of whom aim to give the best of service. The prices are very fair and the quality of their food is always good. On your receipt they always ask you to go onto their website to complete a review which upon completion gives you a code to write onto the receipt and next visit hand it to your server and it gives you a free medium drink. If you sign up for their app you get points for the dollar amount you spend, which gives you reward points for free food items. My suggestion is to give them a try. Asked isis if we could use a one day expired coupon deal and worker here told us no problem. When it came time to use it she then said the system wouldn't allow her to use it. We wanted to speak with a manager but she was the "manager." Then we wanted to know if she was able to discount us for the misinformation. Several weeks ago, my wife and I went here for lunch. Subs are good, but it took 21 MINUTES for them to make the order. As a consolation, they gave us a couple coupons for two free medium subs: nice gesture... We went again and used the coupons... it took them 28 MINUTES to make the subs -- no consolation coupon this time. The takeaway here is to go when you have a lot of time and not during your limited lunch break. Been here twice now. Sandwiches are more expensive and smaller than other sub places but has more meat. The last time I came, they made 2/3 sandwiches incorrectly by including mayo when I specifically asked them not to. Went here for a late lunch with my boyfriend and his son. First of all the menu was a little confusing. I was very very disappointed. Worst sandwich I've ever had. I ordered a turkey club with everything. Couldn't even find the cheese in the sandwich. It was a sloppy mess which consisted of mostly mayonnaise. Lettuce and tomato. It was as if I had asked for a mayonnaise sub. We had two regular combos and a kids meal all came out to 31$ a little bit pricey for not so good of a quality of sandwhich. The kids meal was even eaten he ate the chips and dessert but didn't like the actual sandwich I tried it and it was again, mostly mayonnaise. Anyways, came here for the first time last weekend while en route back home to Chula Vista and I must say, this was my first visit to this chain and it's GOOD. Very good sub... Impressively slow service. I came in with a free sandwich voucher, because a supervisor handed them out due to poor/slow service earlier this week. My second trip was somehow worse. I ordered to go, and watched 4 people behind me get their food before I did. Eventually I decided to ask the crew what was going on, and the order wasn't even being prepared yet. It's ridiculous that my order (which was placed 20 mins prior by that point) isn't even started until I go out of my way to complain about it. So excited i did, they have a large variety of hot and cold sandwiches, a kids menu and chips and goodies. I ordered the BBQ sandwich double meat and got chips and a drink for $14.87 with the 20% military/first responder discount! They use Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce and the cashier recommended Jalapenos which added some balance to the BBQ sauce and make a awesome sandwich. Staff was friendly and even gave me a quick education of how Firehouse came here from Florida where the Firefighters started it. I was in here Thursday 3/30/17 at around 3:00. The lady who helped me was super sweet. I mentioned I was eating in my car so she cut my sandwich in half and wrapped each half individually for me & gave me extra napkins without me having to ask for either gesture. Incredibly disappointed. I ordered my sandwich to go, drove through McDonalds for a happy meal, and then straight home. All of this less than a mile from the restaurant. My sandwich was a soggy mess. I could literally run my finger across the bread and scrape off goop. I was unable to run back out so I valiantly attempted to eat at least part of it, but I could only suffer 4 bites before tossing it in the trash. I'm not sure what upset me more, throwing away over $10, or the time I wasted waiting for that slop. Perhaps this was a fluke, although I fail to see how, but I will not visit again. My girlfriend and I sat down waiting patiently for our overpriced subs, and all she could wonder was what kind of soda beverage we should be drinking, I could feel this evening was already turning out to be a nightmare. At last our subs arrived at our table, I looked down in amazement at the devine beauty of the sub in front of my face, it looked even better than the picture! Warning! This next review is extremely hot, proceed with caution. I am a patriot! I believe in this country and the things it stands for. The military, police and firefighters all deserve a round of applause for what they do on a daily bases. They are our modern day gladiators. Getting in the ring with the animals of the world and coming out victorious. However, I don't like to mix my hero business with pleasure. A sandwich shop should just be a place to be fed sandwiches and not patriotism. I need to be able to judge the food based solely on its taste and presentation. I don't want to be influenced to appreciate the food because I have a love for civil servants. The way to a man's heart is thru the stomach and that is what I want to be judge and jury. Having said all that I would give firehouse subs 4 food based stars. The most important part of a sandwich is the bread. The bread was soft, had flavor and wasn't so large that you had to bite it from all angles. I had a hot sub sandwich so I anticipated some melting to the cheese. I think the cheese may have melted a little too much to the point it got all clumped together. I ate the turkey bacon ranch sub, emphasis on the ranch, they went a little heavy with it. Despite some minor infractions the taste was even thru out the sandwich. Meaning there were no surprise bites of something you missed from the bite before. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the unnecessarily complicated soda machine. It is one of the buffet style soda fountains where all the drinks are mixed and dispensed out of the same nozzle. The process is unnecessary and the cherry Coke doesn't really taste like cherry Coke. So in closing, keep patriotism out of the kitchen and in our hearts and minds where it truly belongs. read more

Italian sub was so sickeningly sweet, couldn't stand it. I go online and check the nutrition info: 34 grams of sugar in one sandwich! That's almost as much sugar in a 12 ounce cola. Total carbs 111 grams. The food here is not safe for a diabetic, so I will not be eating here anymore. The honey ham in the Italian sub was so sweet it left a bad taste in my mouth. Sure there are other choices here but even my favorite meatball has more carbs and sugar than I can eat and stay healthy. read more
