Hello all, Great food at an expected food court price. Fresh cooked right in front of you so you can see most of the action. I didn't wait too long as there was not many people around today. We order the original cheesesteak which was awesome. Loved the side of pickles. Then an order of ultimate fries. Always love those. Service was fast and friendly, not to mention a free lemonade with my check in. The food court was the normal blend of sounds and people shopping around. Had this at work in LA recently and was impressed with the size in the flavour decided to get one for the family at home. Went to the mall to place an order for 3 large philly cheese sticks number 7. The menu said comes with lettuce tomato and mayo. Out of the 3 orders 2 with vegetables 1 with just the tomatoes and basic. Also atake out order. Well get home ....all just meat and cheese and 2 with meat, cheese mushrooms and bell pepper. No tomaties,lettuce or pickles . The restaurant is located in the promenade mall, where there is plenty of seating in the food court when it is not super busy. I like the fact that you are able to see them cook the philly chicken. This isn't a Philly cheesesteak place... Why would a Philly have lettuce and tomatoes? Why don't they offer Cheez Whiz? All that aside, my Philly Deluxe was good although it barely had a lick of cheese on it. Nonetheless my boyfriend and his brother witnessed a rather slightly heavy petite girl (haha) devour the large sub in less than 5 minutes. I kid you not. My boyfriend got Bacon 3Cheese Steak, added teriyaki however, according to him there wasn't any teriyaki... his little brother got the Chicken California. In the end we all devoured the subs entirely w/ an order of their cheddar, bacon, and ranch fries. BTW- there is a check-in deal: free regular lemonade however, only one deal can be used at a time. Thank you, Yelp for the $10 for $20 deal. The deal was readily available through my app, I also printed the voucher, and the manager on duty looked me up by using my first name. Kind of cool. TLDR DISCLAIMER: I write lengthy reviews and usually do a "summary" at the top of each. But in this case I'm not sure a summary is fair, so I'm just posting the full review - SORRY (lol!) My original review was 2*, and then edited and updated to 3*. For this second update I've decided to revise to 5*, but do an actual "updated review" rather than replacing the original, since both reviews are accurate for the time they are written, and I think it's fair to let both stand - but finish with the 5* review. My first visit to Charley's did not go well. As detailed in the original review, the customer service was good, but the Philly I ordered was under-cooked to the point that the cheese wasn't melted, and the meat tasted unseasoned. Based on positive reviews at the time, I felt it could have been a fluke bad experience - but it was the experience I had had. But I've always said that the true measure of a business (or person!) is not how they handle the routine - it's how they handle the adverse and unexpected. After posting the review, I received a private message from the business owner, that explained steps they had taken to make sure nobody else ran into the problems I did. I was impressed for several reasons, but they all came down to the fact that I was convinced she cared about her business and its customers, and I decided to give Charley's another shot, and see if my first visit WAS a fluke. I returned yesterday and purchased the same sandwich I did the first time, the only difference being that I asked for extra salt on the fries this time. I was again impressed by the cashier, who kept a long line moving quickly and efficiently, while also being very friendly. To be honest my expectations for the sandwich were a bit tempered, as I was confident the sandwich would be fully cooked this time, but the lack of seasoning from the first time had me expecting it to be bland. It was not! This time the Philly was fully cooked, and the flavor came out much better. I enjoyed the sandwich quite a bit! I also found some additional seasoning bottles on the counter, to the left of the pick-up window, which further enhanced the taste. The fries were also better this time. Though I hadn't noticed the first time, when comparing the two trips, I think they may have been slightly overcooked during the first visit - on the second, they had the right balance of crispness on the outside and potato flavor inside. Though I will say, even with extra salt, they were a bit under-salted for my taste - but that is just personal preference I think. I'll also mention that at one point I returned for a refill on my soda, standing in the back of the line and waiting. The cashier saw me, motioned me forward, and handled the refill, without slowing down at all the process of taking orders from other guests (again, impressing me with her efficiency and ability to multi-task.) Overall it was a very enjoyable lunch. And while I'll have to eat there a couple more times before I can entirely rule out the first visit as the fluke I think it was, the combination of the good second visit, and how the owner handled the first bad one, does give me confidence to return :). read more

The food is not horrible, but when you talk about a Philly cheesesteak, the guys in Philly and even other places in California that make cheesesteaks, they pack the savory meat on like there's no tomorrow and it's dripping with cheese. Tried Charlys for the first time tonight. I ordered the "New Kentucky Bourbon Cheesteak" without sauteed onions. What I got was a flat bun, with various sizes of chopped beef, tough, almost burned. They were scattered on the bun, on top of unripe tomatoes, and sprinkled with what were supposed to be French Onion Crisps, but were more like the size of panko breadcrumbs. Being called a Cheesesteak, I expected, well, cheese. NOPE. NADA. But they did toss around random Jalapeno slices, which im allergic to. Well... a brand new addition inside th local Walmart at 92562 Murrieta, CA. It began, with me trying a 'sample' off the tray from a young employee, handing out tiny pieces of tye Philly sandwich. It was bone dry and had no flavor but I must add that these sample pieces where so tiny, that may have been the problem to not taste anything and dry out within. A minute....I think. Just to be nice here. Lol. Finishing my shopping inside Walmart, I was still hungry and decided to go inside this Charley's and have a Philly Cheese steak sandwich, which has always been one of my favorites. As you can see in the photos, it looked somewhat ok but I immediately saw that... the green Bellpeppers where not visible. I lifted up the cheese and meet to find them, but....no Bellpeppers anywhere. I walked back up to the ordering desk and told one of the, what looked to all be very young employees, told them that my sandwich had no Bellpeppers. The young lady apologized and instructed a young man to give me Bellpeppers on the side. He threw a few l, cut pieces on the grill.. ...and I had to wait. Meanwhile, I already knew that my sandwich would be getting cold. Sure enough, having received my Bellpeppers pieces, adding them to my sandwich, taking my first bite, my sandwich was semi cold. I was pretty hungry, so I settled for....continuing to eat it. I then noticed how dry it was, too and I investigated the roll insides and wouldn't you have known, they where bone dry. Nit a drop of Mayo or whatever that Mayo mix was, being advertised on their photo board, showing what is being put on to this sandwich . Bone dry and no, the thin meat and the barely visible cheese did not make any difference because the meat, too was bone dry. Hmmm....that tiny sample, being handed out when I entered the store came to mind right away. Could it have been that all these (very) young employees missed to put it on? Just like the Bellpeppers? Well....while all this was going on, I noticed the gentleman in front of me doing 'his thing', WITH JUST THE SAME PROBLEMS! Smiling at me, getting his Bellpeppers and what looked to be Mayo on the side, from the counter, too. Well? Again....well? I had ordered this Philly as a conbo and let me add to my already frustrating report, tye fries i received where may be the size fir a small child but not good enough for a total price of over $16. I did decided for the tangerine lemonade instead of a fountain soda, so yeah, I was bamboozled to an extra charge fir that small drink, too. Over all....I WAS NOT HAPPY AT ALL. I am guessing that, since thus place just opened not to long ago, all these 'kids' must still get used to the proper 'menu put together' but....should that really be my concern? Noooooo. Guess what....I will not eat my beloved Philly cheese there ever again. Lol I know, who cares.....well, I DO and my wallet does! Being a fan of Charley's for many years, I've been to a number of locations local and overseas. This one, located within the Temecula Promenade, is probably the best I've been to. It's pretty much my first choice out of all the places to eat in this particular mall food court. This place excels at customer service, efficiency, and quality of food compared to the other businesses around it. I really have no complaints. This is my go-to cheesesteak brand, but other Charley's definitely don't come with extraordinary level of service provided here each time. There are always samples, which is a large draw, and every member of the staff are a rarity in this line of work--they seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and go the extra mile to help you. There once was an issue processing my payment method, and they were quick to resolve the matter, even upgrading a portion of my meal just for the trouble. All of their sandwiches are delicious, from the regular cheesesteak to the chicken Philly. French bread is perfectly crisp. The fries (especially the gourmet fries (get the bacon and cheese!) hit the spot too. And the lemonade is a great beverage pairing with your steaming meal. The coupon deal on yelp is incredible! What a great lunch! My friend got the bacon cheddar fries and the ultimate club (we all loved his fries). I got the chicken club and I loved it. The freshness of the bread and lettuce yummy! If you are going to a movie grab one of these coupons and get dinner for a great bargain before or after you go. This place was the most popular in the mall. I watched as groups of people would line up (when there was no lines anywhere else mind you) here and wait a few minutes for their food instead of choosing the other places. I stopped by here the other night while checking out Macy's and it was my first time trying Charley's. They were pretty good for something you'd get in a food court. Prices are what you would expect from a mall food court... as well As the service... exactly what you'd expect in a mall food court. The cheesesteak was okay. There wasn't much to it, and the meat is very thin and they don't give you very much. Definitely not #1 cheesesteak in the world. There were very few veggies. The best parts were the French fries and the roll that the sandwich come on. I'm not a big FF fan and I'd probably go back there just to get fries so that says a lot. this is specifically regarding the Charleys Cheesesteak on East Colonial Drive Orlando - I went a few weeks ago and waited in line for 40 minutes with 3 people ahead of me and I ended up leaving with no lunch because I had to get back to work. Today I decided to give them another chance and waited in line for half hour and there was only 1 person ahead of me, then waited another 15 minutes and I finally get my order. Food was good overall, but employees looked at me funny when I asked for a single cup of ranch after I made my transaction, cashier said "we charge for ranch" which is totally fine, I didn't read the sign until after I began to eat my lunch. I spent $15 on a meal, so I figured it's common decency to allow me to enjoy my sandwich and fries with a cup of ranch (I never carry change and did not want to double swipe my card).. anyway I went back to ask for Buffalo sauce and was told "we charge for that too." But there's no sign saying they charge for buffalo. Long story short food was fine but it was irritating being denied sauce after purchasing an over taxed meal. We ordered 3 sandwiches one sandwich with no fries, one with medium fries, the other with large fries. The medium fries were put in the container with the sandwich.
