I really liked their toasted bread. The meat was perfect, wish they added more grilled onions. It bugged me how they skimped out on the meat though... man, I paid $7ish, give me a decent amount of meat! After shopping at Forever21 my tummy was getting rather upset and I had to use the restroom. Wooooo for runs! My mom didn't finish her other half so she told me to take it home. Charley's Grilled Subs I believe is one of the most recent additions to the food court and I'm gonna give it 2 thumbs up. There's a Quizno's 30 feet away, yet, I'm not just interested in them whatsoever. A big bonus is that the subs are always fresh since they make it once you order it and there's free refills even on lemonade! The reason why I knock one star is because I feel that for the price, I don't really get full?? Not sure if it's the thin-feeling bread, but I devour the sandwich in about 8 bites and I'm still feeling kind of hungry afterwards. Strange. Decided to grab food here when taking my little girl to see Santa. Hubby got a philly deluxe n bacon/cheddar fries, I got a philly. He liked his. My family and I visited this establishment tonight. We places a pretty big order the cashier was great, shift supervisor, and the gentleman preparing our sandwiches. Never had a bad experience when visiting this location. Delivering a load of fuel to the Costco just outside the mall, I was able to take a lunch while waiting for another truck to finish dropping. Parked my truck (no, they do not have truck parking; I rolled the dice) and headed into the food court inside the mall. I had always wanted to try this franchise, but the one by my house is always slammed. There was no line at this location, so I walked right on up and ordered a large Pepperoni Cheesesteak, fries, and a drink. The cutie-pie at the counter was very nice and helpful, the food came out quickly, and I was prepared to have my mind blown. My mind was not blown. Not even a little bit. The lettuce was wilted and had browning edges. The "steak" and pepperoni were not the best quality, and even though toasted bread can be crumbly, mine seemed to have leprosy. The "steak" looked like cooked fat trimmings, and the pepperoni didnt taste very good. Gobs upon gobs of mayonaisse poured out the sandwich on each bite, like an old Carls Jr. commercial. The sandwich gave me instant heartburn. No bueno. I must have gotten the bottom of the bag of fries as well. Most of the fries I recieved were less than two inches apiece, and they were overfried. The Iced Tea I got came warm, and you had to fill the cup with ice to make it "iced" tea. It was extremely bitter, even after a packet of sugar was added. It tasted like someone mistook tea leaves for dirt. Im sure its pre-brewed before it comes here, but whatever company they use for their tea needs to be fired. Yuck. I was going to give this review a little more love, based on the great customer service of the cashier. (I believe her name was Skye.) But as I type this, more than 24 hrs later, I still have mild heartburn and horrible indigestion due to this sandwich. The "death burps" I am having right now taste like bad cheesesteak. Ugh. We ordered for delivery from Grubhub and the order was incorrect due to a misunderstanding. So we called the restaurant and they were AMAZING to correct it even though they were technically closed. They not only replaced with the correct order, they met us outside the mall to pickup since the mall was already closed, apologized profusely and gave us coupons for next time. i decided to jump on their yelp deal. 10$ for 20 of food. Not bad. I tried to call them and ask where they are located but the listed number was a fax or they set it to the fax setting. I had to call the promenade mall to find out where they were. That was enough to take off a star. I ordered a few subs and they made it quickly. Tasted pretty good, but i wish they would've added more meat to it. I felt like it was more bread and less meat. But I shouldn't complain since all our waistlines are bulging. The fries with bacon, cheese, and ranch dressing was awesome!!!!The service was extremely friendly. The employees look like they genuinely like to work with one another. When I showed the employee my yelp deal, she looked puzzled and asked for her boss to check it out. Some guy came out and said he'd get someone else. Then a lady showed up with a piece of paper in her hand that had my name and said my "Diana?" Apparently as soon as you purchase a yelp deal, they are notified as if they're expecting you. Love it here, the owner Brenda is one of the nicest women out there. She is so kind and makes a point of getting to know her customers. I first started eating here back in 2010, I proceeded to eat here around 5 times a week due to working at the mall. I will tell you that their Chicken California is absolutely the best thing on their menu. SO DELICIOUS! They used to have a much better staff however, almost every single original has moved on to other opportunities, Thomas is still there and he definitely makes the best sandwich of them all and has serious skills tossing those spatulas around.They make the sandwiches right in front of you, there is no questions of what you are getting when its made right in front of you. This place is terrible! I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and the chicken tasted bad. I complained and the person working there named Trevor said there is nothing they could do and sorry. I then threw my sandwich away, it was inedible. I noticed the manager a few minutes later and spoke with Chandler and was told because I already threw the sandwich away they would do nothing for me. I explained I only threw it away after speaking with the associate. Needless to say they had terrible customer service. I guess that's what happens when only children working there. I love this place , i honestly do , but after few days of bad experience , i had to write this , i work at the mall , so i eat at charley's about 3 - 4 times a week sometime twice a day. few days ago i had 2 breakfast burrito, with drink , i came back about 6 hours later , ordered steak sub , with fries , and i wanted to refill my drink (like i always do) he said its $0.5 , i was surprised because i always get free refill , but i didn't say anything , maybe its new rule or something , but the guy on the very next register got free refill , I WAS STANDING LIKE RIGHT THERE AND WATCHING, my refill on the receipt said (ranch) , because they dont even have refill item to charge for on the system i guess ,, and guess what , i DID get ranch , lol , i dont even like ranch then i got annoyed , so i asked someone is the refill free, he said yes of course!! i told him i was charged $0.50 for it . he goes oh maybe because you purchased your drink in the morning. So i am not sure what is that , but we would like to know whats the free refill rule , is it after an hour ? 2 hours ? 9 hours? same day? please say so , because you know , some of us are NOT stupid. how could you determine when i purchased my drink and if i do qualify for free refill ? i will still go and eat there , BUT i will not purchase my drink from there any more , i will just get it RIGHT NEXT STORE , where its $0.2 cheaper and come with free refill anytime that day. These young people have got it going on. Very professional and my sandwhiches were awesome. I was helped by Joe and Adrian. Not sure if everyone gets treated like me or if Im special but they put on a show while making my food. Expert on the grill and my fries were perfect. You can tell these young men take pride in their job. I wish more fast food places had motivated polite people working at their shops. First time at this location but i have been to Charley subs as far east as the one in Ft. Benning Georgia military base and the one here at the mall is my favorite so far.
