Just as good as I remember! We used to go to the Temecula location until they closed up the shop. Today I went to Murrieta to look in the meat a frozen cases and order two sandwiches. Before I get to reviewing the sandwiches I want to mention the great stuff I saw at the meat counter that I will definitely come back for! They had chorizo, pork breakfast sausage, Hungarian pork sausage, two kinds of brats and more. Nice organic chickens, bone in skin on chicken thighs, and herb marinated half chickens. Their chickens are smaller than what they sell at supermarkets which tell me they are younger and more tender. The steaks....ohhhh the steaks! Wagu, Prime grade, rib-eyes, New York Strips, big shrimps, fish, etc. In the other cold case there was Duck, and other Duck related products, plus so much more I can't remember them all! They are a busy place at lunchtime and I didn't mind waiting. We had a turkey and bacon hot sandwich and a BLT. Outstanding on both! My wife's only suggestion that the turkey needed more chipotle aioli, it was a bit dry. read more

I'm a meat dept manager for almost 3 decades. I have worked for 4 companies and successfully managed for 3 companies. I was the top guy and worked at the outhouse and the penthouse, meaning I worked in financially stable and unstable departments. With all that said, I saw plenty of problems at this location. Starting off, they are way overpriced. Unless the owners gross profit percentage is 50% or more, should definitely be embarrassed pushing low marbled over priced products. Also, questioning the rotation and shelf life on the product. Quality; putting a first cut, wedge cut that was barely scraped in your counter is embarrassing. Anyone that knows anything about cutting or displaying would walk out, which I did. Displays are amateur at best, no quality or finesse. I would recommend avoiding this place until they learn the business. read more

The sandwiches I ordered were great! Roast beef sandwich and prime rib sandwich was what we ordered and both were delicious! Fresh and tasty! It's a butcher shop that has a few patio tables out front, fridge filled with homemade sides and drinks. Showcase of the different meats they have to offer and a Thanksgiving meal menu made to pre-order a couple weeks in advance! A private parking lot shared with neighboring companies in the complex. Friendly staff ready and a well maintained facility. Open and airy store, setup to display the different type of meats available. It was fairly busy for a Wednesday afternoon. read more

It shares the same plaza as Destination Smokehouse so I got two places off my bookmarks that I've wanted to try. This is mainly a butchery so it was filled with nice cuts of meat, they also sell tallow, smoked duck, and elk (?). I was here to try their Philly sandwich which is rib eye with provolone cheese, white cheese, grilled onions, with garlic mayo. The staff is nice and the parking lot can get packed. The meats are exceptional. Quality cuts of lean meats, burger patties, ribs and more. Our lunch was a splittable corned beef sandwich on St Paddy's day. Packed with meat, and served on marbled rye. Very good. Per pound a bit pricey but for a splurge well worth it. read more

Now for the reason for the review....the sandwiches...do not sleep on a small town fresh butcher deli sandwich. I cannot describe how simply amazing these were. The Philly burger was a massive juicy burger packed with tender steak and cheese it was amazing! Sonny's Revenge was full of flavor just what I needed. Loaded high with delicious meats and the husband had the Naughty Pig Ruben and said it was delicious. Highly recommend this place for quality local meats as well as their amazing sandwiches. Came here on the way back from Mammoth and were craving a sandwich and this place hit our radar as we passed through Murrieta/Temecula and the Yelpers were spot on. Not just pig, but they have several other meats (it's a butcher shop). The sandwiches were tasty and staff were friendly. We definitely would come back if in the area. We stumbled across this place after trying to go to Destination Smokehouse and finding a line almost out the door with a 45 min wait. We happened to park in front of Naught Pig and I'm so glad we stopped in. They have a cute little water and fresh produce set up in the front and the meat counter displayed prime cuts throughout, we will have to try some of their fresh cuts next time. But today, we were hungry and not about to cook, so we opted for the Philly Cheesesteak hot sandwich and the cold Smoked Duck. Both were absolutely delicious. The Philly was VERY savory and cheesy, the meat was extremely tender and not fatty at all. It was our favorite. My only note would be to ask for extra jalapeños or see if they have vinegar to cut the richness of the meet/cheese/buttery bread combo. I think that would balance it out perfectly but that's just me knit picking a perfect sandwich. The Smoked Duck is very smoky (obviously) and refreshing. The salty/smoky meat paired with the slightly sweet and crisp slaw was very well balanced. The duck was also very tender. Would absolutely get this again. Bread on both sandwiches were perfectly paired with the ingredients. We're always looking for great food in the area to grab a bite and that's sometimes hard to find around here. If you desire grass fed steaks and sausages , you find it here at Naughty Pig Butchery. You pay more for grass fed protein but if you can afford it, you are going to get something special. They also offer hot and cold sandwiches and it was lunchtime so I tried "The Philly", a take on Philly cheesesteak. It was hot and filled with plenty of shaved rib eye steak, with provolone and white american cheese, grilled onions, pickled jalapeno, garlic mayo all on a toasted 8" french hoagie. The rib eye was the real standout, lean and tasty making it one yummy Philly. No inside dining so take it to go or snag one of the two tables just outside the door. read more

They have these amazing burgers. They're " steak burgers". The guys use several types of steaks and ground them up and turn the steaks into the best burgers you will ever eat! I've been to their shop only a few times but so far I've been happy with what they have and the customer service. We need more shops like this around, so many grocery stores carry garbage. I won't buy any steaks from any grocery store these days. The cost is more but what you're getting is not only a much higher quality of meat but you get more meat and way less fat and grizzle. When you want a hearty sandwich, none come better than NPB's sandwiches in Murrieta. The Naughty Pig Ruben is my usual go to. Slow Roasted Pork Belly, sauerkraut, melted provolone w/ Russian Dressing on Lightly toasted New York Marble Rye. One bite, and you will be hooked. My wife usually gets Sonny's Revenge. Mortadella, Sopresatta, Salami, Black Forest Ham, provolone chopped romaine, shaved red onion, roasted artichoke w/ pesto aioli on toasted 8 inch French Hoagie Roll. Hands down, by far...the BEST sandwiches I've had anywhere around here. Been coming here mostly for the sandwiches for over a year, and also have gotten some bacon and some of the in-house made offerings they keep in the fridge, including potato salads and once tried a piece of cheesecake. All of it was on par. First time I came in, they had Filipino-inspired Ube cheesecake, and I believe the wife/ co-owner is Mexican. It's unfortunate I read one review stating something along the lines of not being the "rightful kind of people" and felt he was treated poorly, but I personally have never encountered such experiences from my multiple visits here being a "person of color". I've had some of the absolute worst experiences anywhere since living here, but this place has been a saving grace. The thing is, you need to have a hearty appetite to have one of their sandwiches (probably fast/ skip breakfast, and maybe even lunch), or expect to have leftovers. I'm so appreciative of this little spot. On par with my native Chicago restaurant/ food standards. The sandwiches are HEFTY, with a huge stack of meat, incredibly juicy, tasty, and generous(!) unlike a lot of places I've checked out where I feel ripped off of my money. As the sandwiches are currently priced, THEY'RE WORTH IT! They've got the meat properly situated on swirled rye, served HOT! - not lukewarm (unless a sandwich is meant to be served cold). And their in-house made pickles add a nice touch. Get a sandwich here - you seriously can't go wrong. Where I've been incredibly disappointed and left angry at so many places here, this is one of the few places I think seems to be of integrity, and won't waste your time, like I've repeatedly experienced at many other places since moving to Southern California. Wow, this place is awesome! We had the opportunity to taste their smashburger at one of the local wineries a couple of weeks ago and decided to stop by today for lunch. We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and fries and it was the best cheesesteak I have ever had!!! I highly recommend you try this sandwich at Naughty Pig! The fries were so delicious and came with a mayo dipping sauce that brought them to the next level! (Naughty Pig: can I get the recipe for that sauce!?) What butcher shop doesn't cut/slice your meat when you purchase it? I came here a couple months ago because this place is half a mile from my house. Asked the guy behind the counter for 5lbs of ribeye and asked them to slice the slabs into 3rds. "We don't do that here." You don't slice your meat offerings.....but you're a butcher shop? Ok. Went to Kennedys and asked for the same thing and had no problem at all; ended up going back for 20lb supply I needed for the month. Better service there and their meat is excellent too. read more

Not sure why Yelp is saying this location is permanently closed bc my daughter and I were just here an hour ago. They have moved from Madison Ave to Kalmia St, in the Northwest corner of Jefferson & Kalmia. I've heard so many great things about their sandwiches so my daughter and I decided to check it out. We ordered the roast beef sandwich w extra onions. It was delicious! Lots of thin slices of beef in a ciabatta bread w red onions and aioli. Yummm... that aioli was really good!! Yumm!! They really do put a lot of meat in their sandwiches, not to mention the quality of the meat is top notch!! Next time I will have to try out their steaks.
