I have had this place on my radar for a while but my daughter said she had a dynamite sandwich at this shop and it was NO JOKE. Obviously we had to roll up and get on board and it was a great experience and great food. The owner is an awesome guy who called my daughter out as a repeater the moment we walked through the door- so solid. Been in a couple times but some time in between visits. This is located in a quieter mall area right on the Promenade periphery with storefront and shared lot parking. Both indoor and outdoor seating and I imagine can get a little tight during peak hours. Appreciate that there's a sandwich shop with dutch crunch which honestly became my fave sandwich roll after a first taste in the Bay Area. Most recently tried The Capital with everything on it + Hella Saucy. It was good and I'll likely come back for another menu item sometime. I do wonder if it'll be possible to request the bread to be toasted slightly more to capture more of that crunch on top. Finally had a chance to try this place. Wanted to try since it seemed similar to Ike's sandwich. They offer 7 speciality sandwich and I ordered #6 the Hollywood Cajun turkey with the hella sauce. If you don't like garlic and pesto that sauce isn't for you. For me I do and it added a touch to the sandwhich. The displayed menu at the store had 30% of their toppings and breads crossed out. Ordered a BLT but was told they don't sell any pork products. The bread had a light crunch/crust and I ordered the mesquite smoked turkey and mozzarella with the "Hella Sauce" 10/10 sandwich. Very nice and friendly staff. We got both the Wharf and the Hollywood and both were sooo delicious. The worker (Russell) told us how their dutch bread wouldn't cut the roof of our mouths like others and he was right! The bread was so good and soft but still had that crunch! You should definitely get all sauces on the sandwich- it made it so yummy. The service was amazing by all of the workers (I think there was a Chloe and Carl as well) and my boyfriend even dropped half of his Hollywood (nooo!) but they gave us another with 20% off. :) I wish we could go back!! I wanted to see what makes this place a local favorite, so I chose one of their signature options--The Wharf tuna sandwich with all the fixings and the Hella sauce. The sandwich was generously filled, and I appreciated that the tuna was fresh and not overloaded with mayo or sweet relish, which I usually don't care for. What really made the visit stand out, though, was meeting what I believe was the owner--an older gentleman who took the time to enthusiastically describe the uniquely made bread. His passion for the business was clear, which is always great to see in a local shop. As for the sandwich itself, while it was well-made, I found that the crunch bread wasn't quite to my taste; the flavor and texture didn't work for me and I would have preferred a simple, softer roll for the tuna. That being said, this seems to be a personal preference--I overheard another customer raving about how much she loves the bread here. Overall, the place was busy, the customer service was excellent, and the owner's enthusiasm for his craft definitely left an impression. Such a great find! We're from out of town and were in the area for a high school football game with some time to kill before it started. Dutch popped up on Yelp and sounded worth trying, and it didn't disappoint! The bread is seriously so good!
