This deli is a gem in the middle of our little old town. I wouldn't call it a mere deli. More like a mini gourmet pizzeria plus sandwiches. And the coffee! OMGosh! I came here to try their pizza and sandwiches. I got their Portobello mushroom pizza ($13.75), The Mar ($14.25), and Italian ($15.35). The Mar looked burnt but the bread was fine, it held up well and had a nice chew. The Mar is a tuna sandwich with capers, celery, white onions, lettuce, Havarti cheese, chopped cucumbers and tomatoes. It's a bit dry even with the garlic aioli but the tuna was well seasoned. The Italian came with sopressata, mortadella, genoa salami, provolone cheese, olive tapenade, tomatoes, onions, and roasted garlic and red pepper aioli. The sandwich had plenty of filling and was not drowning in sauce and the olive tapenade was not overpowering the other flavors. The mushroom pizza is a small size, good for 2-3 people. Very strong smell of goat cheese and garlic oil. It was filled with portobello, mushrooms, red onions, provolone, and garlic honey drizzled on top. The crust was thick and tasted plain. I had the Whole Farm cold sandwich - (Ciabatta Bread [menu said baguette bread and maybe it was, but it did not look like it to us; either way I was glad it was whatever it was!], Roast Beef, Smoked Gouda, Ham, Turkey, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Aioli [Roasted Garlic, Roasted Red Pepper], and Cucumbers.) The wife had The Steer sandwich - (Sour Dough Bread, Roast Beef, Green Apple, Smoked Gouda, Aioli [Roasted Garlic], Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Cucumbers.) The sandwiches came out to our table in less than 15 minutes and they looked great (and they were)! They tossed a white chocolate macadamia cookie on each of our plates, as well as a couple of dill pickle spears. My sandwich was extremely tasty and I enjoyed every bite! This sandwich jumped into my top 5 most creative and satisfying sandwiches I have ever eaten - BURP! The better half enjoyed her sandwich as well so she told me. She must have, because she wouldn't give me a bite to try. I surmise they are relatively new, as they had signs soliciting reviews to help spread the word; including one that read if you showed them your review before leaving they would provide you with a certificate for a decent percentage off. I point this out only because I did NOT take them up on their offer; and this review is truly based on merit (several days later).
