APPALLED. BEWARE! I went today after work for just a carne asada burrito and California fries... The fries. I asked for extra crispy yes, I did. But noo. Absolutely not! The fries tasted like the end of the oil. Upon calling the cook got so so so mad at me, that the oil has been going all day and that he has had no complaints. Just because I'm the 1st of the nights-doesn't mean it's not happening). Either way, he had offered for a new meal in 10 mins -- HURRRRRY - if I want the new meal. (My husband's burrito as pictured was $25)! He had it (he works 15hr + days (Solar) he was starving he has anything). -this proves nothing. I went back to the restaurant, the order was not done. He THREW MY FOOD ON THE FLOOR! To the person at the drive thru, he ASKED ME TO TRY YOUR FRIES BEFORE PREP! To prove they weren't made in OLD OIL. I told him, I wanted just a remake of fries. But after him TELLING ME TO TRY THE FRIES FROM THE OTHER CUSTOMER. IS BEYOND. I gave up. HE INSULTED, HUMILIATED ME. Beware, he make take your food out the window for someone else to try. Probably one of the best burritos in this town. In this town where good Mexican food doesn't really exist. So it's slim picking and this place is the best of them all. Will I come back? Of course I will. It's all we got. What I will not come back for is the burrito with shrimp in it. I saw them prepare it and the shrimp comes out of this plastic tub. It's the little tiny cheap shrimp and who knows how long it's been in that tub. It's honestly kind of gross. So avoid the shrimp. Eat everything else. read more

First time here and what a good little spot. Drive thru only with some outdoor tables from what I can see. Easy to drive by and miss, which would be a shame. Ordering was clear over the speaker and the lady at the window was very nice. The surf & turf burrito was good: Had some weight to it! Good tortilla for the double wrap. Carne asada had nice flavor and good texture Not too much rice so the $15ish is for flavor not filler Salsas were pretty standard but good (if a Mexican places messes up salsa it's a bad sign) Only negative on the whole burrito was the shrimp, they were good, but lacked something to tie it into the rest of the burrito. Maybe some crema or cheese? So many burritos on the menu it'll probably be a while before I order this again, definitely looking forward to eating here again. read more

I've always heard about D'Sotos taco shop but never knew where it was. Since we were passing through Old Town and saw it, we stopped by here to have dinner. There is no interior seating, just 3 tables outside and a drive thru. Prices are decent and the food was good. We ordered shredded beef tacos, carne asada nachos, rolled tacos, and a super quesadilla. All of the food was made fresh, hot, and delicious!! I love how they were very generous w the toppings on the Nachos and the guacamole had some chunky pieces of avocado. My daughter really enjoyed her food and suggested I give them 5 stars, I agreed. I stop here about once or twice a month before work to pick up a combo plate. It's enough food for me to eat some for breakfast and then eat the rest for lunch. There was only one person in front of us in the drive thru so I was like great, we should get our food pretty quick. When we ordered, the lady wasn't very friendly but it wasn't a big deal. When we pulled up to the window, the lady working there didn't even acknowledge us (even though the service window was open). She simply asked for payment, no "hello" or anything. Pretty awkward. Even my friend commented on it. It also took a while to get our carne asada (surf and turf) fries. She did say thank you when she gave us our order and that was it for the interaction. When we got home and opened our plate of food, we were severely disappointed. 1/3 of the plate was pico de gallo. Not only that but you could definitely taste the fries were not freshly but tasted old (I can't even accurately describe it). The fries were cold and tasted really oily but cold. The plate was as not filled with fries and then we literally got very little pieces of carne asada and like 4 shrimp. I took a picture to show how much protein we got (after mixing it around to actually try to find some protein). Sorry I will not return. read more

This place is really tasty. They make good asada quesadillas. It's a fast serving mom and pops place. They have an outside window where you pick up your food and can order. They have tables and benches where you can eat.as well. They also have a drive thru. The price is really reasonable. Their surf and turf burrito I got was just under 11$ and the quesadilla was about 8 or 9 bucks. The only thing I didn't really like were the sauces. They actually charge 1$ extra for sour cream when I was ordering online. However, i really loved their guacamole. It was just so tasty and fresh. read more

We loved our machaca breakfast burrito and the monster burrito, which was unique. The portion size is huge and easily makes two meals. My husband and I stayed at The Signature Hotel for an event at Pechanga and D'Sotos is located across the parking lot. We enjoyed and 6 piece rolled taco a la carte, for lunch with all the toppings, lettuce, tomato, pico de gallo, creams, guacamole which was delicious and plenty enough for us to share. The next morning we had the breakfast, sausage, egg, bean & cheese burrito. Again, complete quality and deliciousness. Cold food - fries were chalky and tasted old, meat was hard and chewy, there was only a small amount of guac, the cheese wasn't even partially melted - it felt and looked like it came straight from the fridge. The portion wasn't worth the price or the 10 minute wait at the drive-thru window. The salsa was watery and bland. We got 2 orders of carne asada fries and a carne asada quesadilla with 3 agua frescas, the quesadilla had so little cheese and meat the 2nd tortilla just fell off (there wasn't enough filling for the tortillas to stick together). We live less than 2 miles away from here and ate the food as soon as we got home. It shouldn't have been so cold. In my opinion, save your money. I love the egg, bacon, beans, cheese & potatoes breakfast burrito, most places don't put or offer beans to them. They also give you plenty of salsas. Prices are about average to higher but I've had more expensive burritos further down Temecula Highway and they weren't that good or too small & greasy. It's a small drive through shack about 1 mile from old town Temecula. Got the bacon breakfast burrito without beans and light cheese, light potato. It was good but a bit too greasy for me. Liked the green salsa (on the side). The red was flavorful but too spicy for me. The bacon was thick and chewy. Proportions were perfect the way we ordered it. Friendly staff and efficient service. This score is for the breakfast burrito. Major points go to the perfect I'm assuming handmade flour tortilla, the ingredients were beautiful too. I would have given this 5 stars but it was so salty it was practically inedible. I tried removing the bacon (which I also would suggest not being cooked so lightly before adding to the burrito); which helped enough to make it edible but what could have been a perfect burrito was damaged by a heavy hand of salt. My husband also felt the same way and this has never happened to us before, but we were visiting town for the weekend and it was too far to drive back. Love this place. My friend and l stumbled on this place as we were coming back to Oceanside after spending the day in Temecula for a small pop up with vendors and the food there wasnt our thing. So on the way back we needed something fast and inexpensive but good tasting. We went to Yelp and found D'Sotos. My friend wasn't on board at first and l worried she wouldnt be happy even if the food was good. But she ended up telling me the rolled tacos were the best she ever had. I ended up going for a second time last night but on my own around 9 pm as a Rhea Lana's sale was going on and of course my first thought afterwards was to stop here on my way home. I casually mentioned it to my friend and she begged me to bring her back 3 rolled tacos. I assumed they would've been soggy after a 30ish min drive home but she said they were amazing. The staff are very sweet and accommodating. I pretty much request them to make me my own kind of burrito and each time they've been very pleasant and willing to do it. And bonus, it was delicious! Great Mexican food spot with a drive-thru between Temecula and Fallbrook. Recently drove by on the way home and ordered through drive-thru. Ordering process was quick and easy and we were in and out within 5 minutes. We ordered a fish taco and two burritos. Burritos were packed with meat and very filling.
