The owner was a really nice, genuine guy. The food, however, was some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. From NJ, moved to NC 10 years ago. An very over-priced, as you are paying the tourist/Inlet upsell charge. Better off getting an appy and drink and listening to music vs. going for dinner and dropping $100+. read more

Stopped in last night for a bite to eat. I'll start by saying the live music was phenomenal and the owner promptly came out to introduce himself and welcome us. I thought that was nice. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer and it was delicious. Then came dinner. Husband and I both had the ribs. They were very dry and tasteless. The macaroni and cheese was watery and it had no taste either. My husband ordered the potato salad with his ribs and I feel it was not made in house as the potatoes had that store bought consistency. Horseradish pineapple slaw gave no hints of either pineapple or horseradish and I'd venture to say it was a premade item as well. The cornbread was very dry... the service was good, but the food does not warrant a second visit. This was a one and done for us. read more

This place used to be my favorite place! I'm so sad to see that it's under new ownership. My adult son and I went right after Christmas for one of their alcoholic hot chocolate's (no longer on menu) and some snacks. The drinks we got were the weakest I've had here and the shrimp was so bad that as I went to peel it, it disintegrated in my hand. I never touched anything else. We stopped for a late lunch around 3:30 on 9/25. This is the second time we have been there. We ordered the bbq flatbread that comes with macaroni and cheese on it as well as the bbq pork. All the toppings were fantastic but the star of the flatbread is the bread!!!!! Oh my gosh! It was heavenly! Like warm, just baked, fluffy ciabatta bread! The bread with the toppings plus some Pitmaster bbq sauce made the most delicious meal! We took home several pieces so we get to enjoy it again, plus we bought a container of the Pitmaster bbq sauce! The waitress said that all the toppings, as well as the bread, and the sauce are made in house!!! Fantastic! I did want to say that the first time we came by, about three weeks ago, I had the macaroni and cheese with brisket burnt ends. We also had the shrimp and grits appetizers. Everything was tasty, fresh and imaginative!!!! A big bowl of creamy macaroni with burned ends on top?? Yes!!! Shrimp and grits, my favorite dish to try anywhere, made into little handheld appetizer balls??? Absolutely!!! Needless to say we will be back and can't wait! Slow smoked meats are the main draw here, but the amazing surprise was the flatbread, with many choices of toppings. Something different for every preference, but the flatbread itself, prepared perfectly- just the right balance of crispy, chewy, fluffy, neither too thin nor thick- makes it stand out as much as what you put on it. And the Mac and Cheese with the pulled pork was creamy, savory, smoky- the pork so tender it fell apart as I stirred it into the Mac and Cheese. I made a reservation for 6 , upon arrival @ the scheduled time .. they asked us to wait .. and gave us a table for 4 inside with two end chairs .. Very busy with decent live music and the staff remained relatively positive .. Food took just over 90 min to come out , and while waiting the owner / manager came over and advised that he had a cook walk off and they were severely backed up .. the same guy just stood next to a table of 8 people making small talk for about an hour but did nothing to increase rate of food being executed.. When food came out , it was awful ... entree took just over 90 min , appetizer was delivered after the entree .. Children with us ate and finished prior to our entrees being delivered .. The manger offered free desert " on him " so we ordered but after an additional 30 min left without it delivering ... I paid $175 .... Had a great lunch today at F2T! The new owner Raymond Clark came to chat with us and give us the specials. Such a nice and warm person. We met Jean our waitress and she mixed up an excellent Bloody Mary! I started with the chicken and veggie soup which was very flavorful. My wife had the side salad with the tomatoes and garlic smoked like their meats which is an awesome touch. Ordered the brisket plate $24 and chose my two sides - smoked Gouda Mac and cheese and Grandmas Potato Salad, all three were delicious. I am not a fan of cornbread normally but Fire to Tables is the best I have ever had. My wife had the burnt ends plate $30 ...burnt ends are hard to find around these parts. So much work to smoke and make but worth every mouth watering bite. Sunday the 28th they will be hosting a traditional pasta dinner (not on regular menu). I got the Carolina chopped pork which was so dry and absolutely tasteless, a thimbleful of Mac and cheese- Again dry and tasteless, it literally tasted like flour sauce and noodles, and a tiny piece of corn- It's summertime, why not serve fresh corn?. Especially if you're going to charge $22 a plate?. It's corn, it's not exactly expensive. I feel like this place has a lot of potential, but the owner seems like a guy who doesn't take suggestions well. The vision was there, it just hasn't been executed fully- The menu needs a bit of an overhaul honestly. If Gouda is too expensive to make Mac and cheese with switch over to cheddar, it's ok I promise. I think most people would much rather be able to see and taste the cheese in their mac. read more

I'm a Texas bbq gal & this was really good. We got the sampler platter for two. Appreciated the opportunity to try everything but not a great value. I'm not a huge buffet type eater but definitely smaller portions than expected. I'd recommend just doing the wings bc they were the best! We got fries & onion rings (which wouldn't have been my choice if I had ordered a single meal) but they were elevated. Our waitress was awesome! Great place! Came here with our family on a whim. Live solo music on an amazing patio with a fire and beautiful string lights. We just had to stay after dinner and enjoy the vibe for a bit. Everything on the menu is made from scratch. I did the bacon BBQ burger with the potato salad and it was delish. My husband had ribs/wings with a few sides, he also enjoyed. My daughter (13) actually ate adult food (ham/Gouda/over easy egg sandwich) with kettle fries and didn't complain (this is impossible if you have teens ). Grabbed a late dinner here while in Surfside. What a great find! The Brussels spouts are the best I've ever had. So light and crunchy! We both enjoyed the salmon entrée. Prepared just as we ordered and delicious. A full bar with a great selection of bourbons. Our server was stellar even though it was very close to closing time. We never felt rushed to leave. We ate inside but their outside area was amazing, complete with a fire pit . There was live music outside but it was a bit too loud for us so we enjoyed it inside. We made reservations, which was wise as they were very busy. The atmosphere was lively and fun. The gentlemen on the keyboard singing was wonderful with an awesome voice. Nina was our server, she is delightful, ultra-friendly, fun, happy, and offered great suggestions. We will ask for her on every visit. She is very knowledgeable and gives you the perfect amount of attention. Nina is the epitome of a perfect server. Ray, the new owner (October 2024) came over on two occasions, the first to introduce himself and welcome us as he shared a little about himself and his family. He came back during our meal to see if we needed anything and to thank us again for coming in. He is a welcoming owner, who genuinely wants you to enjoy your food and to have a wonderful time. Ray shared that he has the best wings around; we ordered them to go, and I had to have one when we got home. After eating only one, I would say Ray has a legitimate argument. We ordered Corn Ribz for an appetizer (recommended by Nina) they are corn on the cob quartered, battered, lightly deep-fried with parmesan cheese. They are amazing. We then ordered the mac n cheese with burnt ends and the burnt ends dinner, with homemade chips, cornbread, and pineapple horseradish slaw. All were incredible and if you think the slaw sounds eh. Think again, it was amazing and a must have side dish. We had an incredible dinner, with wonderful music, a genuine friendly owner, and one of the best servers (Nina) you will ever have. I drive by this place all the time and finally stopped in this last weekend. So glad I did! My friend had the hog fried skins which smelled amazing, but I'm not a fan of fried pork skins so I passed. (She loved them). The oysters were delicious and the brisket was so tender, it melted in my mouth. Even the bbq sauces were great. When we were leaving, we decided to check out the downstairs patio bar and ended up staying a little longer. (They make real margaritas here, not the pre-mixed crap you get on the Marshwalk). Sat on the deck railing area and enjoyed a burnt end brisket bowl as well as a New York breakfast sandwich and our server Nina was kind enough to bring us an appetizer from the dinner menu, during brunch which was the fried brussels sprouts with blue cheese aïoli and it was incredible!!! The coffee with a kick was the inlet Bloody Mary came with three shrimp and all the veggies on top. Great food! I had the brunch hash and Shrimp and Grits. The consistency of the grits was perfect. The buttery flavor of the dish was layered as well and I can tell a true chef was at the helm. Lilly at the Bar was smart and friendly too. I was concerned because no one was in there--maybe I came too early.? Good news, as I was leaving, some repeat customers/locals arrived . I know the competition for your restaurant dollar is brutal in this market- but locals , you do not want to loose this place. The food here is more akin to what you find in the big city. Potato salad was so bland and had no flavor-dressing hadn't really absorbed into the potatoes. It was freezing inside and quite a job to get a refill on our drinks. My friend said her chili was really good and the Brussels sprouts were good flavor, but burnt. Server was nice though we came in towards end of the night. read more

The fried skins are fantastic, well worth the $9...drizzled with white and red sauce...seriously good. I had the ham sandwich, the wife had the sausage and we both had house made pork fat fried chips. We debated desserts and when I thought I'd won the debate and settled on the PB& J donuts, the wife ordered the brown butter banana pudding too! Wow...just wow. Service was good as well. Drinks kept full...nothing we ever needed that wasn't readily available. The climb up the stairs was a little unexpected but fortunate since we decided to add dessert so we got a little exercise before overindulging. My wife and I love this place. The prime brisket was melt in your mouth good. I loved the roasted Brussels and we both fell in love with the horseradish pineapple slaw. My only complaint had nothing to do with the food or the service. It was that the outdoor seats are pretty narrow and not so comfortable for a big butt like mine. This is usually a place we love to go to. Had an amazing pastrami sandwich several times I've been there however on this one occasion. Not sure if it was the end of the pastrami but it was in pieces almost shaved. It's hard to eat the sandwich when it was falling apart while pieces were falling out. Sorely disappointed.
