I was able to visit Birdsnest on March 4, 2026 for the first time with colleagues attending a local conference during lunch. We never received our order after the male waiter sat down with us to take our order. We waited 45 minutes no food nor communication. Every other table around us were serve without any concerns including the ones who came after us. A colleague decided to go to the front to check on the status and said waiter procceeded to yell at her very loudly. We immediately got up to leave and waiter continued to yell at the 3 of us as we were leaving. I've never experienced this type of behavior from any restaurant before. Came by here with a few of my coworkers after work. Downtown Florence overall has a few spots that caught my eye but this one seemed to be the best option for the night. Coming in there's a bar area with small tables in the front, more tables if you head to the back, then a back patio all the way outside. We were seated right away and served our drinks. I ordered a Trail Magic Burger with a seasonal Fruit Punch Sour. The burger was phenomenal and was the absolute perfect portion to fill you up. Fries were slightly less crispy then I would like, but were seasoned perfectly. My sour was absolutely delicious. As we finished eating our server brought over the separate checks and let us take our time. Overall, a very good experience that I would recommend for anyone in the Florence area. read more

Decided to try out a nearby restaurant close to the hotel I was staying in. Cute restaurant with attached seating on the outside for no more than 4 people. Inside seemed small until you walk farther back. It's more of a let's watch a game and have a beer feel. I sat at one of the tables and the bartender noticed me and brought me a menu and advised me who my server was and that they'd be out in a few. Thankful I didn't have to wait and just sit. My server came out shortly after and I ordered the black bean burger Oregon Trail style with added grilled onions. It smelled so good and was DELICIOUS!! You can tell by the pic, the bun is smooshed because I took a bite before the picture. The only reason I didn't give an extra star is I'm particular about condiment packets on or around my food. You never know if someone's hands are clean. I would make a suggestion in putting them in a condiment bag, or in the to go bag not in the food box. I'll definitely be back!! read more

Walked in and everyone stared at us like we had 3 heads. Sat down waitress took our drink order and it took 10 minutes to get those then she never came back but visited our neighboring table 2 times. We had to chance her down to order more drinks. Now having said that ... the food was really good. First off, the service was quick and knowledgeable. She had our drinks out fast and even made appetizer recommendations. I love friend pickles and if they're on the menu I typically get them and these were worth it. So yummy. The bistro sauce that comes with the pickles left a strange aftertaste for me so I went with ranch instead but my boyfriend loved it. After eyeing the menu we both decided on the space jam burger. Absolutely amazing! One of the best burgers you'll get in this town and I'm not exaggerating. The fries weren't anything special but they complemented the burger well. We went to the Bird's Nest last night for the first time. It has become our dinner stop for our stop in Florence twice a year. We needed a place that allowed us to bring our 5 month old puppy and their plaza seating in back was great. I ordered the Brazilian, steak chunks, caramelized onions , mushrooms and provolone on a toasted hoagie. I have to say, the very best hand held meal I've ever had. The French fries were perfect also, hot and crunchy. My wife, Ophelia, ordered the Oregon Trail, a hand formed double patty burger with Swiss and mushrooms, which she loved also. Have eaten at this restaurant a couple of times trying new menu items. The burgers are good and the tuna appetizer is tasty. Every time I have taken my family the service has been VERY slow. The last time we went for my daughters birthday because she wanted the grilled chicken salad we were charged for refills on tea and soda, not a normal practice I have seen at restaurants of this casual level. I even had to go to the bar to get silverware for the table after the appetizers were brought and none was brought after it was asked for. The server seemed more concerned with his tables that were primarily drinking on the deck than me and my family. Even had to go to the bar and ask for our bill even after we requested a box for leftovers and it was brought. Buffalo chicken salad was mostly breading rather than chicken. Horrible service ! Manager and waitress were the rudest I have ever delt with. I get being busy but when no cares just says ...sorry but you see we are busy. We ordered an appetizer so that we wouldn't care if it took time for food. Appetizer took 25 mins! And then another one comes out 20 minutes after that ( we only ordered one ) and still don't get our order. Everyone is surprised we are upset and wants to argue with us and not fix the issue! Not sure how manager got his job but it explains why the place runs the way it does. Staff is rude and unorganized. 10 out 10 DONT RECOMMEND read more

I've tried this place on a few occasions to be sure I was giving ti a fair chance. I went once for dinner, once during a downtown event, and once at lunchtime during the week. The service was terrible all three times. If you count the time I ordered a beer from their street bar, that makes four times with bad service. I'm no really sure "gastropub" applies here. I would rate it as an ambitious greasy spoon. Our table ordered a couple of sides and appetizers, which they got wrong (they delivered appetizers). The rest of the food was average at best. Two other guests ordered the Tay Dog and the Sliders. They seemed to be far from fresh. I really don't get a different vibe from this place than their other bar, Apple Annie's. For the value and the overall experience, this is a pass for me. Three strikes. read more
