Unfortunately I didn't have the best visit at bulla Gastrobar! My friends and I came in during restaurant week this past Thursday night and I had such high hopes. The bulla mule was very tasty they had some cardamom syrup in there for a fun flair and their patatas bravas were also good to start with a few positives. The ceviche started out really good but then I bit into a piece of fish that was still iced and frozen on the inside which wasn't great. I decided to get the paella with chicken and it was a huge portion, but overall pretty bland so I requested some sauce to help it. When I had my meal my fork was taken from appetizers and no one came by to help for almost ten minutes and the first person I asked forgot. The service in general was just very slow. Best things the table ordered: pork skewers, corn cream that came with steak with steak, patatas bravas, mango sorbet that came with the flan

I was quite impressed with their wide variety of food selections. They have plenty of Tapas which includes a chorizo sausage. I'd recommend perusing the menu prior to coming. See photos attached. Calamari is what I was craving, so Calamari was ordered. I was very pleased with my steak. There are plenty drink selections. They have plenty wine selections, so that made me happy.

While visiting we decided to give these guys a try since the menu looked good & it was close to where we wanted go. Drinks to start we had Pink panther , Bougie Palmer , they were not bad good in taste light on the alcohol. On the food we decide to give a few of the tapas a try , they start u off with some bread & olive oil, not bad. We had the Meatballs , these were good , The Garlic shrimp was a favorite for us, good tasting shrimp, nice dipping the bread in the sauce. The Montadotos was the winner this was very good & finally the Truffle Carbonara , it was not bad good taste to the sauce & pasta. Nice looking place with a nice but simple decor, dimly lit, service was not bad a little on the slow side but not terrible. Good music playing, we enjoyed our meal.

Beautiful restaurant and amazing food! Staff was really kind and accommodating. There is also an outside area as well. Perfect for celebrations!

Montadito de Chistorra: This dish had Spanish-style sausage, piquillo confit (peppers slow-cooked in oil), and just the right amount of shredded manchego. Perfect for my meat and cheese lovers. Truffle Carbonara: While it's a classic carbonara, the addition of truffles makes it truly exceptional. My fiancé couldn't keep his fork off my plate, and I can't blame him - it's that good! Bulla Burger: This burger is amazing! With piquillo peppers, caramelized onions, cheese and a honey thyme glaze all on a brioche bun - pairing it with their saucy papayas bravos makes it even better.

Had a wonderful birthday brunch for my friend here! She reserved a mimosa tower and we had a great long table next to the bar. Service was great as we had 6 people and the waiter kept up with us all nicely. I ordered patatas bravas, charcuterie, and not pictured a kale caesar salad. I was impressed with all of the food and can't wait to come back and try more. They were out of the churros though and I was looking forward to trying these

Immediately bringing up a rival rating service was not what I initially had in mind for this review....but Google has them at 6,000 plus reviews, and a 4.9 overall rating. That's an incredible sample size. The good news is they lived up to the hype. As soon as you enter you are greeted warmly by the hostess. You are then lead through the beautifully laid out dining room. The entire space is well designed and decorated, the art is tasteful, and the lightning is very fitting for a laid back dining experience. As I got comfortable, Delilah my server appeared with menus and a wealth of knowledge. She asked was it our first time, and when I said yes her eyes lit up! She recited the entire menu by heart, not in a rushed robotic way either. Small details about what was spicy, or a house favorite she had it covered. 5 star service from Delilah. Then comes the food, I order the patatas, and grilled steak small plates. The patatas came out piping hot and flavorful, a great compliment for my grilled steak. The steak itself was a perfect medium well temp, the overall flavor was magnified by the cumin. The dish came with a mushroom foam on the side, and it was a nice offset for the heaviness of the meat. Lastly I decided to go for the trifecta, and try the paella de pollo. I will say it was good but not mind blowing. I've had it in Madrid a few times, and still wasn't too impressed with the dish in general. But I had to give it a shot. Overall 5 star service, 5 star food, 5 star ambiance. This should be atop your very shortlist of restaurants to try if you haven't. Pro tip: Have a marg! The lavender margarita suggested to us by Delilah was A1. Just ask for light ice, it's already a short glass and the ice is overflowing. Otherwise a incredibly crafted cocktail.

We had a lovely birthday brunch for my friend here. The mimosa tower and our long table by the bar made it extra special. Service was great, even with our group of six. The menu has a wide variety, especially the tapas, I'd recommend checking it out beforehand. I odered steak, and shared some patatas bravas, charuterie, and a kale Caesar salad. The chorizo sausage on the tapas menu was a standout. Drinks and wine selections were excellent. The only letdown was that they were out of churros, I'll definitely be back to try them next time.

I love this place! It's more on the pricier, fancier side. Been here twice, and the tapas here are some of my favorite to get. They have a variety of tapas, and all are delicious and flavorful. The tuna tar tar was so yummy with the wonton chips. Cocktails were okay. Service was very nice. Staff was nice and food came out in a reasonable time :) Ambiance is very nice. Like I said before, it on the fancier side, so it's perfect for a birthday dinner, girls night, or date night. Check this place out!!

So on arriving I was a little concerned. The location is very nice but part of a mall, not my thing at all. But the reviews are excellent so we proceeded. My concerns were entirely unfounded. The food, drinks, service (Naomi is awesome!) and atmosphere were excellent. We are planning on moving to Charlotte within the year and this place will be on heavy rotation!

Great service (we had Camila), all food and drinks ordered were really good. It's a great ambience and really a taste of Spain. Wish the menu given was the same as the QR that is on table so we had to keep scanning to see all options

I have to admit we love this place. The food and service is great. This time we went for lunch. The portions were great and it was a great value. We decided to add the tomato Brad to our order and this is the only constructive criticism I have. The tomato bread this day was flavorless. I do make my own and like rosemary and a bit of salt to create a great flavor. This had no seasoning at all and for $19 with cheese and ham a bit of a let down. Our server at the bar was outstanding. Allowed my wife to try multiple wines in her birthday to choose the one she really wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone. We love it and continue to go every time we have a chance.

It was a Friday night two weeks before Christmas, but it was only 5:45pm so I feel like we got lucky. We were able to walk in and be seated right away. Our waitress was a sweetheart and though the restaurant space was big and open, the warm wood and exposed brick inside made it feel welcoming and cozy. We head to Charlotte pretty regularly for various things, and I would like to bring our teenage boys back sometime. I think they would really like the menu and style of the restaurant. My husband chose this place again for his birthday dinner…read more.. We arrived for dinner RSVP at 6 pm, and the place was bustling. It seemed it was prom night, and there were many well dressed kids (mostly girls...with dates?). In any case, the place was gorgeous as usual...and as usual, the menu was a bit offputting. The price points are truly outlandish for what you get here. An example? A basic burger is 24 bucks...without fries! Truly, you're paying an extra 15 bucks or more for the ambiance. Pricing aside, even the options on the menu was a bit of a head scratcher. Honestly, there's barley a thing on there that appealed to me. Well, it used to be the Lobster Roll...but I had that a few times, and frankly, it's just not that good. It's small, and the bread is too hard...and again, despite the outlandish pricing, it doesn't even come with any sides. If this was any other restaurant, I'd probably just want to walk out. But then, there's the ambiance! Even that was a bit of an issue for me. On this night, there was hardly any music playing...and if so, it was on so low that I could barely hear it. There goes part of the ambiance...at least for me! My husband got his usual...the French Roasted Chicken, my son got the Roasted Sandwich, and I got the Shaved Ribeye Dip. We also ordered the Fries and the Creme Brulee for dessert. Well, more than ever, we all were extremely disappointed. First of all, my husband's dish looked nothing like it used to...paled in comparison in taste and presentation! In fact, afterwards, he said he'll never choose this place again to celebrate his birthday! My son and I just felt our sandos were OK at best...and really for its ridiculous price point, they were bordering bad. The bits of salad with our hand-helds were Argula...pretty, but possibly one of my least favorite veggie? Fries were good...but priced separately for $11-12 bucks, they should be! Then even the dessert was abysmal. Most creme brulees come with fruits...or some type of topping. Not here! Just a basic creme brulee. SO basic...with 1 ugly candle for my husband's birthday. It wasn't complimentary either. Just a DUD all the way through! As gorgeous as this place is, I'm just not sure if their foods are worth it anymore. BTW, for drinks, I got this Orange Cocktail (Blah!), and my husband got some beer (?). Again, nothing special. If this place cares to up their game, they should try harder...but apparently, they don't. In fact, it seems things are getting worse. I mean, just look at the recent Roasted Chicken plate...TERRIBLE!!! One thing positive is that we managed to get some good birthday pictures out of this fancy schmancy scene with good lighting....but the rest of it was just beyond underwhelming. Sorry, but gotta drop down to 2 stars this time.

They have several options for draft beer and a lot of them are local craft brews which we enjoy. We like to support local businesses and so does Growlers. They source their ingredients from local farms! The flavor profiles for the things we ordered were very good but there were a few execution issues. The Carnitas Nachos were good but the chips were not crisp, and the cheese sauce was grainy. The carnitas were tender but could use more seasoning, and once you get past the top layer, it's mostly just chips. I ordered the wings and asked for the three pepper and the jerk. I chose the blue cheese dip and it's the best that I've had in a very, very long time. Thick and creamy with lots of chunky blue. I'd go back just for that. The three pepper was delicious and the wings still had a super crispy skin. Absolutely an excellent wing. The flavor of the jerk is amazing. It's a perfectly balanced blend of sweet and warm spices, but the sauce had been reduced down too quickly and you still got the graininess from the spice. Overall, a few things could be tweaked, but it was a fun experience.
