    Fresh Tagliatelle With Toasted Proscuitto

5 stars to the chef. The tagliatelle was phenomenal. The cream sauce with mushroom, peas and sage was on point. It was absolutely the best. Barringtons is a small establishment. We had a reservation for what turned out to be a party of 9 women. When making the reservation, it was stated that separate checks could be cut. And as a female waiting on a table of 9 females, what tells you that I want to pay for anyone's else's alcohol and dessert w/o telling us that the system is so antiquated she can't cut separate checks until she brought the check out and said it was 50+ per person. If this had been the only issue w/the wait person, it'd be no problem. She obviously did not want to wait on our party and made us fully aware of that. From not remembering who had what dish to complaining because the person at the end of the table, the very end not the middle screwed up how the orders were coming out. She hid in the kitchen while we were there and the bartender or the manager handled cashing us out. This is Barringtons - this is not the service one expects from a restaurant that is known as one of the best in Charlotte.

Dessert at Barrington's, an exceptional dining experience!

Rarely have my wife and I dined at a restaurant that is so good, I had to write a review about our experience tonight. The restaurant is located in Foxcroft off of Fairview, in Charlotte. We were eating lunch at Brixx earlier this week and saw the sign for Barrington's as we were leaving Brixx. We stopped to check out the restaurant and made a reservation for Saturday night. One of the better decisions we've made this year. Our server Jen, was superb throughout the evening. She started us off with drinks and we selected a delicious bottle of red wine. It was a red blend with great body and perfect with our meal. Bethany had the arugula salad for her appetizer and I chose the summer special, the corn soup. We always try each others choices and I would get either the salad or the soup on our next visit. For our entrees, Bethany had the scallops and I had the lamb chops. Again, either choice was an excellent one. My lamb chops were perfectly cooked and her scallops were as good as any I've had. We still had a bit of room for dessert so Bethany had the banana bread and I chose the warm chocolate pudding cake. I didn't try Bethany's dessert since it had nuts and I'm allergic. My warm chocolate pudding cake was wonderful. A scoop of vanilla ice cream over chocolate cake and a dark chocolate sauce...decadent. Throughout our meal, we could converse without raising our voices. Everyone in the restaurant was respectful of the people seated next to them. Jason Newman, the sous chef is one of those folks whose food you look forward to trying again. Especially since the menu varies, a little bit, with the seasons. We will be back and will offer to take out-of-town guests here. This place is special. Not cheap but certainly within expectations for fine dining. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the city of Charlotte and a restaurant we recommend without hesitation.

Barringtons was delicious. As always. Service was on top of it and made you feel special. My table opted for the pri fix menu. $95 for four courses. A special time

Incredible first time at Barrington's. Everything from start to finish was delicious. I had the special salad with butter lettuce, beets, and focaccia croutons to start. Next split the mushroom tagliatelle and halibut special with someone else. Both were incredible. We spilt 3 desserts including lemon cake, chocolate pudding cake, and seasonal cobbler. 10/10 meal can't wait to go back!

Came in with high expectations having lived in Charlotte my whole life and heard wonderful things about Barringtons - really wanted it to live up to the hype. Right out of the gate, the food was delicious and surprisingly comfortably priced. We each had the mixed greens salad (highly recommend) with actual nuggets of honey comb. My fiancée had the salmon, while I had a steak special - both also very tasty and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed a few of their cocktails (limited bourbon selection) and had the twinkies and hand pie for dessert. Definitely unique dessert offerings, which we liked. If I were rating for food alone, it would be 5 stars easily. Our dining experience was a little off which proved to be a bummer. We were celebrating our engagement this evening and mentioned that in the RESY notes, but it was never brought up by anyone during our meal- not even a simple congratulations. Not a deal breaker, but this place is Charlotte dining elite; you expect premium service. Due to COVID, the restaurant was only 50% capacity as well. We thought that would be a great chance to experience this small restaurant without being packed in. A first server came up and greeted us, shared specials and then vanished. Then it seemed like we were strangely handed off to a different server who did a great job, but then after the meal this second server also disappeared while the host brought our checks. Couple the lack of any real salutations with a stuffy neighborhood vibe and we left never really feeling totally comfortable. Go once to say you've tried it - the food alone really is worth it - and then either buy a house around the block and become a local or try somewhere else. Many restaurants will be more motivated to create a memorable experience for you, in addition to great food. Bummed to say we are new to Moffett Restaurant Group but are now less motivated to try their other restaurants.

We got here about 530 and sat right away, They do take reservations if you call them. The Ambiance is cozy in a galley dining room setting, Holds maybe 60 including the bar area. The Staff was johnny on the spot, Woody seemed to be the sharpest of the bunch and the most knowledable, (he was also our server) and friendly and was right there for our needs without hovering or hitting you up with the, I just stuffed my mouth "How is everything?" Routine. Wine was wonderful, Merlot, Food Was very good and it was relaxing without being pretensious like a lot of places in South Park. Well Done Barringtons We will return.

In between mall errands, grab a table or a barstool and dive into a Hot Chicken Sammy or Pepperoni Flatbread, paired with a flavorful Joyride IPA, Daydream Lager or another brew from their extensive selection. The menu also has shareable apps, salads and burgers, along with a wide variety of wines and cocktails. Service has been excellent on all our visits, and there's ample seating inside and out. The huge covered patio can get a little steamy in the summer, but is a joy in cooler weather. And the younger kids can burn off their energy on the adjacent playground while you and your spouse tip back a few drinks. Suffolk Punch is the best addition to SouthPark in years, and will give even the most reluctant shopper a new reason to hit the mall.

Warning - Detailed (worth it)! Peppervine - Southpark…read more My daughter took me to Peppervine for the first time for Mother's Day. On Saturday though. What an incredible experience! We got there at approximately 5:15pm free parking a short walk from the restaurant. The area is extremely clean, quiet, there were people out, but it was not crowded or busy at all. We were seated immediately, and I could see into the kitchen as the staff worked on preparing our meals. Extremely clean, I loved the decor, the environment, even the music was wonderful. Very calming and level. Service was stellar. OK now the food?! Pimento Cheese Scones Thai Spareribs Mussels Scallops Pork Tenderloin Lemon Poppyseed Zeppolis Butterscotch Pot de Crème I ordered the pimento cheese scones, which were excellent and went beautifully with the sauce that the mussels and the scallops were in! You get one piece of crostini for the mussels and it was gone, of course. Those scones? I scooped up every bit of sauce in both seafood dishes. It was THAT good! INCREDIBLE! I begged the manager to please please do not take the mussels or the scallops off the menu! Apparently, they rotate menu items regularly. I could not get over the seafood, neither one of us could stop talking about the size of the mussels. The freshness, the texture was perfect. I love seafood? Hands down. Those were the best mussels I have had anywhere. They were out of the shell and I'm not gonna lie. I was a little nervous when I first saw them. Honestly? We will go back and there will be more than one order of mussels to go around if they're still on the menu! He did share that they brought them in from Maine and explained the location that they were purchased from was very controlled. Pristine. Can I just tell you? It showed! We ordered the Thai spare rib, which was cooked perfectly and so tender it came right off the bone. A balanced and even flavor as well. We will definitely order those again if they have them. I had the pork tenderloin with dirty rice stuffed cabbage. It was fresh and beautifully cooked, but my daughter enjoyed it more than I did. That by the way is a personal preference I just felt after having the seafood? Nothing was going to compare. My daughter had the scallops again that cream sauce was just phenomenal! It was definitely different ingredients different flavor than the sauce used with the mussels, but they've got a winning recipe. Let me tell you. The pimento cheese scones were the best compliment to the sauces and the seafood dishes. Not to forget the spreads that they brought with the pimento cheese scones. They were excellent as well. Last we had dessert and I ordered the lemon poppyseed Zeppoli's, which were good. I felt they could've been a little lighter on the inside. They were slightly gummy, but the flavor was excellent. Again, a personal taste, especially being Italian and having them homemade by family. My daughter's dessert was to die for. Butterscotch Pot De Crème. Seriously, the ingredients they used and the combination of flavors. It was just spot on! I don't think any other dessert would've compared - it just really stood out and we ordered it on the recommendation of our wonderful server. He said it definitely was a favorite and he was right. I will be going back to Peppervine and I highly recommend it however, the seafood is what did it for me. That was my absolute favorite.

As someone based in Seattle and not attending in person, I spent considerable time researching restaurants in Charlotte that could accommodate a group of 12 executives, offer private or semi-private dining, and meet a high standard of service. The Peppervine exceeded expectations on all fronts. I worked closely with Tommy Trull, who immediately put me at ease. He was incredibly responsive to my (many) emails and even took the time to connect over the phone to walk through menu options and service details. His willingness to collaborate and accommodate our needs made the planning process seamless. Tommy was also very flexible--he thoughtfully adjusted the menu to accommodate food sensitivities, and when our headcount changed at the last minute, he allowed the group to order off the menu instead of sticking to the pre-selected options. They also offered a very reasonable food and beverage minimum, especially given the level of service and flexibility provided. Our guests had a fantastic experience, and everything was executed flawlessly. Peppervine is an excellent choice for business dining, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

How I Became a "Regular" - The Michelin Chapter…read more The Prophecy Fulfilled In my second review, I wrote that Counter "richly deserves" a Michelin star. On my 30th visit in November 2025, I got to see that actually happen. What started as a serendipitous discovery has turned into a front-row seat to Charlotte's first Michelin-starred restaurant. The Experience - Validated The core of Counter hasn't changed. It's still a tightly choreographed, multi-sensory experience where the food, visuals, and soundtrack are all working together instead of living in separate lanes. The Michelin star just makes official what regulars have known for a long time: Chef Sam Hart didn't just bring tasting-menu fine dining to Charlotte, he made it his own. The Home menu, landing right as the star was announced, felt like a culmination. You can taste the evolution: the playful nostalgia of "Drive Thru," the cinematic fun of "Tarantino Tribute," and that "White Cake" that, for me, was quintessential Counter. That season finale of "Home" service was the perfect way to step into the Michelin era. This wasn't a restaurant suddenly becoming "star-worthy"; it was the guide finally catching up. Why I Keep Going Back - And Why You Should Go At Least Once I've dined at over 13+ Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. Counter now sits comfortably in that group--not as a newcomer trying to prove itself, but as an essential experience if you care about food and storytelling. Sam's sui generis approach, his attention to the tiny details, and his willingness to take real creative risks are what keep me coming back. At 30 meals deep, I'm still not done--and if you haven't been yet, you should probably fix that.

We did make reservations for a Monday night, though it wasn't busy at all, so you could probably swing by on a whim should you want to during the week. The place was a bit elusive to find, as you have to look for the '3 dot sign' with a staff member guarding the door, which I'm sure is the intent! Once you enter, you walk down a long, candlelit hall, which sets the speakeasy mood right away. Upon entering, the classic speakeasy vibe hits you! Dim lighting, leather chairs, a beautiful bar stocked to the brim with whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and all the other good things you would expect to find in a place that prides itself on great cocktails. It certainly set the mood and got us ready to have an experience. The mixologists were welcoming and informative. I enjoyed my first drink, which was suggested based on my personal preferences in taste. It was a spin off a classic, and I really enjoyed it. Sort of like a cross of a penicillin and a whiskey sour. [The Never Ending Story]. My friend had the clarified punch since we had similar things we've loved in the past. It was slightly sweet, smooth, and easy to sip. We decided to just get some classics since the cocktail menu felt more like just off shots of other classics we love. They were both excluded well! I thought we'd take some home, but that did not happen! My friend got the Mushroom Casarecce. It was creamy and delicious! The beef carpaccio was also really nice.
