We decided to give the new version of Fenwick's on Providence Road, a try tonight. Before they closed at New Year's, this was one of our top three places for dinner in Charlotte. You always worry if things will be as good....we should not have been concerned. The food, service, and ambiance were as good or better than the original Fenwick's. And that is saying a lot! We started with the crab and salmon bisque. Great flavors and served hot. Bethany had a fruit salad with balsamic dressing and I had the Nawlin's Po-Boy with shrimp. Not much left on either plate. We could not pass up the chance to try Fenwick's bread pudding. It's was a favorite of ours for years. Their current version is every bit as good. Great restaurant with fabulous food! We thoroughly enjoyed all of our food. Their prices aren't necessarily cheap but aren't very expensive either. The food is very high quality though. Sauces and dressings are made in house. In addition to a great regular menu they have great board specials too. The Ceasar Salad is one of the best that I have ever tasted. The fried oysters appetizer was divine. They were super fresh oysters breaded just before cooking. The batter was light but provided good crunch to complement them. We both ordered our entrees off of the Specials board. She ordered the Swordfish which was fantastic and I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken which was superb! They have a full bar but no beers on draft. They do have some good craft beers in bottles though. They had many delicious sounding specialty cocktails on the menu. This place is classic small intimate upscale great food. The service is family style. They do something different every night of the week. We went in Tuesday so they were doing creole food. I'm from New Orleans and was a little nervous and skeptical. I had the chicken and sausage jambalaya. Amazing! They put an extra piece of blackened sausage on top. Yumm. Jacob had the red beans and rice which is very authentic and delicious. We got a side of smothered cabbage which is the best cabbage I've ever had. It was creamy cheesy goodness. We did the fried shrimp appetizer and Janet did the cup of tomato heaven bisque. Also, delicious. We all ate from the bread pudding. WOW! New Orleans is known for bread pudding. It's authentic with a twist of buttery bourbon goodness and fresh whipped cream. Better than anything I've had before. I normally don't do dessert but had to try. It was sensuous and delicious. My wife took me here for my birthday dinner and I'm very glad she did. It's a very small restaurant, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in amazing food! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer suggestions. The Cajun burger was on special so I decided to try it, and it was fantastic! Their menu isn't very big, but the food is very good, so whatever you order is sure to be delicious. There is parking on site, but not a lot so plan accordingly. The burger lacked flavor and fried shrimp came with two small Togo sized containers of sauce. Overall I'd give this place a 7 out of 10 food wise. Overall paid $50 for two entrees and two sodas. A nice little neighborhood restaurant with an emphasis on little. It is little as in intimidate but maybe a little too little with not enough space between tables or counter seats. The atmosphere was almost frenetic but I think this was exaggerated by the close quarters and high decibels. The service was excellent and there were lots of servers and cooks filling the small space. The grill was open behind the bar and it was fun to watch the busy crews. They sell lots of burgers which are quite good and come with a large order of fries, the priced are a little high got what you get but not far away from fair. I suggest the fried oysters or fish fishes for lunch over the burgers. And nice salads. read more

I love this neighborhood restaurant. The feel is very personal, as the staff knows all the regulars. Sadly I don't go enough to be one of those, but am working on it. Brunch - oh my goodness, a must try! Not a young, boozy place, but the food is amazing. It has a diner type feel, but a nice neighborhood one - not a dirty hole in the wall one. They have daily specials on the chalk board, and these are my go tos. Avocado smash is like an open faced sandwich and so flavorful and delicious. We (boyfriend and I) stopped by before an event that was close to the location. He ordered the carolina chicken with potato salad and a green salad. I had the chicken strips. He says his chicken was "a 6 out of 10" the potato salad was a "5 out of 10". The chicken strips seemed to be made on site and were moist which I appreciate. BUT the reason this place gets a 4 of 5 (instead of lower) is because of the Pecan Cream Pie!! AMAZING!!!!! Absolutely off the charts incredible! While it has the classic pecan sweetness it also has a delicious creamy filling as well! You should totally go visit this place just for the pie!!! We would return for it for sure!! read more

The prices are very high and the food was mediocre. Although some may call it intimate; I call it small and tight!

3.5 stars. We tried Fenwick's because of the great reviews and it was pretty good. I had a barbecue chicken breast (that was more like an ordinary chicken breast because I didn't taste or see any barbecue), with fries. It was good, but nothing particularly extraordinary about it. I liked that it wasn't too thick or dry. My husband had a California burger I believe. He liked it but I didn't taste it because it had guacamole all over it and I don't eat guacamole. I tasted my daughter's well-done London broil and it was shoe-leather tough! She said she liked it but I'm not sure how. I could hardly chew it. But....to each his own I guess. All in all, the place is cozy and comfortable for a lunch date and I liked what I had. I wasn't blown away or anything, and I find them to be a bit pricey. Some of their other menu items might be more impressive. Perhaps I'd go back in the future to try something different. read more

I went with some fellow Yelp Elite foodies during a midday lunch get together. I ordered the vegetarian burger with their in house/homemade fries with a side of their homemade honey mustard. The server was attentive & pleasant. My friends and I stayed awhile after eating just to catch up & I appreciate that she would ask if we needed anything & also that she wasn't trying to rush us out of there. The vegetarian burger was slightly crispy on the outside (not burnt, but crispy, which I enjoyed). The fries were decent. The honey mustard isn't as thick as say, fast food honey mustard, but it's still good (that comment was for the texture/consistency folks LOL). Parking is super tight- just a precaution for those that may drive an SUV like I do. The inside is quaint as well, but it doesn't take away from the dining experience. read more

A very small and cozy restaurant tucked beside the Shell gas station. The parking lot is really small and I believe you can not park on the side of the building. I think it belongs to the other business. Upon walking we were greeted and asked for drinks . Our waitress was great and very pleasant . She said she only been there for 3 months but she was very knowledgeable and anything we asked she either answered or went and got the answer right away. We had a party of 4. We order the shrimp po boy, veggie burger and regular burger. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and their mimosas. I really like the fresh cut fries. The restaurant is kind of small and my friend had to move a few times for people to get by. Other then that it was a nice experience. Like many have said before me in reviews of Fenwick's I can't believe I have driven past this place so many times and not stopped in! This is going to be our new go to Sunday brunch place! I have never had such a hard time choosing from a menu before. The three orders at the table where the banana fosters French toast, the strawberry shortcakes/pancakes and the veggie frittata and all of them were amazing. The banana fosters french toast was fabulous BUT super sweet so I would recommend splitting it with someone who gets something on the savory side. The place is small just a few tables, seats at the bar and outdoor seating when it is warm enough but the wait goes quickly. The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu. They have parking in front and on the side but make sure not to park in the Ben and Jerry's lot as they specifically say no Fenwick's parking! read more

Great spot for Brunch or Lunch It's been a number of years since we have dined at Fenwick's but were in the area today and it's as good as ever. Small restaurant on the North End of Myers Park but always crowded. Today was not exception but we were able to get a table inside very quickly. A bit too warm outside for patio dining but a nice option in cooler weather. We were promptly seated and I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered my customary sweet tea. I was informed, we don't have sweet tea but can serve you with simple syrup on the side and you can sweeten it to your taste. This is what I have been advocating for years. Several nice specials but we opted to order directly off of the menu. My wife could not resist the urge to go with the Pecan Cinnamon Coffeecake with a bowl of fruit as a side. She must have liked it because there there was not one crumb left. I opted for the Tripledecker Club Sandwich with fries as a side. Both were delicious although I can't remember having a Club Sandwich before with fresh cucumber. Pickles I've had, but never fresh cucumbers but it was a nice twist and gave a nice contrast in texture. The fries were excellent and the potion size on both was more than ample. Great service and a nice atmosphere. Only complaint is that parking is a little tight. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch. read more

I've passed this place a few times and always wanted to try it. Went with a group on a Friday afternoon. FYI-parking is TIGHT. I'm not sure if they have parking elsewhere but their parking lot is pretty small and you aren't supposed to park next door. It wasn't busy when we first arrived but got busy by the time we were leaving. The customer service was great from the moment I walked in. Any questions I had, our waitress either answered or made sure to ask and got back to me with an answer. I started off with one of their margaritas which was delicious. Then I ordered the fenwick's burger with fries. The burger was good but I thought the buns were toasted a little too long and my burger was overcooked since I ordered it medium-well. I love that the burger came with a pickle and the fries. Would I go back? Definitely. Their brunch looked really good. read more

We have only been here a couple of times. The pimento cheese is on point. It not only comes with pita bread, but veggies as well. ( see photo) We decided to split the filet. It was tender and cooked perfectly. The chef split our salads and meal on two different plates for us. The vegetable of the day was green beans and they were flavorful with mushrooms and onions as an added bonus. The service was quick and the waitress was very attentive. Small place with LARGE taste is the best way to sum up this place. I've had this place saved (bookmarked) on Yelp for some time now and was finally able to check it out yesterday for lunch. While in the area for an appointment that we were a hour early to I decided to check ole trusty (Yelp) for nearby lunch and a list came up in which several were bookmarked and as I browsed and read aloud while being chauffeured by my husband who was more than ready to stop for food he made a quick turn, it appears Fenwicks was on the right as I read the list of nearby places and he pulled right in. The parking lot is their downside and almost warranted us to leave and leave the bookmark and try again another day. We pulled around the narrow side to the back which was just as full as the front, there are like 7spots on the front and side total and about 5 in the back. We noticed cars in this BP lot that could very well be in the restaurant but didn't want to take any chances. We began to pull out and leave when a lady walked out and waved us down saying she was done and leaving (A SIGN to STAY). We parked front door style ;-) We were welcomed by not one but two and then a third person. We were seated immediately in a cozy booth and began to browse the menu. I initially saved this place because I planned to join them for brunch but I figured if there is a huge hype over brunch the lunch couldn't be too far behind if not better. We ordered the hummus appetizer, a veggie burger with grilled onions and mushrooms and Swiss and a beef burger made the same way both with fresh cut fries. When I say the veggie burger was AMAZING, I mean it. My husband burger was juicy and tasty as well per him. The fries were super fresh and tasty. We noticed a couple sharing bread pudding which is our favorite and they shared with us that it's the best in Charlotte so we planned to try BUT was to full after eating so we will be back to try the bread pudding. I stopped by to support a local business for brunch. They were definitely abiding by guidelines to keep everyone safe. Brunch was served in a to go box and was very yum. Be sure to ask about the quiche of the day. This coupled with the broccoli salad made for a great brunch. read more
