Expired lime
Anna R.

This was a bad experience, plain and simple. My friend sent her burger back because it was wrong. When it came back, it was clearly the same burger with something scraped off -- and now it was overcooked on top of that. On top of that she is allergic to the thing the scraped off. That is completely unacceptable and honestly gross. If a dish is wrong, it should be remade, not altered and re-served. I also ordered two beers and the limes that came in them were old and expired . I do want to note that the hostess was the only bright spot. She genuinely tried to make things right and was apologetic, but there's only so much she can do when the kitchen handles a situation this poorly. Between the food safety concerns and the lack of basic quality control, I won't be returning.

I went before a show at Middle C Jazz, great place to grab a quick bite or drink before or after a show. I wanted something light yet filling so got the tomato soup added grilled cheese. That soup was so delish. Grilled cheese was good but I mean it's just cheese and bread so not much to say there lol. I sat at the bar and was served immediately. The place seems to be extremely popular for the after work crowd since they are right below Wells Fargo. Only thing I wasn't a fan of with their menu is that their sandwiches don't come with a side, In this expensive day and age, selling a sandwich and fries separately is kinda ridiculous to me.

Food was good. My favorite was a house made potato chips, freshly made and packed with flavor. Staff was nice. A cute Sports bar theme. Walking distance from our hotel - conveniently located and worth the walk. The weather was beautiful

We were looking for a cheaper restaurant in the area verse some of the other restaurants in the area. Our hotel mentioned this place.. it was very good and drinks were outstanding.

This restaurant is walkable distance from Nascar hall of fame, excellent for hanging out with a group and to watch sports on giant TV. They got a huge bar and a massive dining area. The restaurant in general has dark ambiance lighting with some sunlight from the front. I got the waffle and chicken from brunch menu. The waffle was really good but the chicken could have been more moist. The hot chicken biscuit was a good sandwich. We switched my fries for a salad, but then later found out I was charged for it. The staff were friendly. Food didn't take too long to come out. It was a decent place to grab a casual quick bite.

Peach Cider, not bad!

How can you NOT give a spot that serves an excellent Grilled Chicken Sandwich and beer till 2am?! I wish every major city had a spot like The Public House. That's coming from a person that lives in Chicago, an amazing food town.

We were beyond impressed!! We flew from Los Angeles to Charlotte and I would go back again just to eat here !! Everything and I mean everything was absolutely delicious!! I took a bite of my wife's burger and wanted to order another one to go just to take it back to LA lol . My tomato soup was perfect. Chicken parmigiana was fresh , hot , cheesy and scrumptious! Would give 11 stars if I could ! Well done Public House

Highly recommend! Came here on a Sunday evening before flying back home to Michigan. Plenty of seats to choose from but that might have been due to the rain. Located on a well-lit corner downtown is this bar/restaurant. The bar has an inside portion, as well as an outside bar rail that opens to the patio. TONS of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drink options. Vast food menu that will leave you indecisive. We are gluten free and we still had a ton of options. The bartender also has allergies, so she understood the assignment. Casual attire. Street or garage parking. Good for groups!

Showing not very busy

Buyer beware - the place was so slow they let us pick out our own table. Service was terrible - had to keep waiving down the waitress and when food was brought out we were told to ask the server for condiments. But the worst part was a "mandatory" 20% gratuity because of an event. I get it if the place is busy, but the service on a slow night was a bit ridiculous .

After a night at the club down the hall... a great place to gather for some pub fare and extensive beer/wine/booze selection. Super friendly service - big shout out to JoJo in her I New York sweatshirt and great stories. Friendly southern service, priced accordingly, eclectic crowd... this visit an even fuller bar/restaurant- advised on Charlotte Marathon. Cool, laid back vibe. Little loud for this gals old ears but hey... you're in the of the Queen City. Enjoy.

I had a lovely dining experience that I'd rate an 8/10. After a long day at work, I was ready to indulge, and the meal didn't disappoint. The chicken parm with pasta was flavorful and hit the spot. It was perfectly cooked, and the pasta complemented the dish really well. To accompany my meal, I had a glass of Single Post Ockfner Bockstein Riesling Kabinett, which paired wonderfully with the flavors. I also had their espresso martini, which was perfectly executed--extra creamy and just the right balance of coffee and alcohol. Everything arrived at a decent pace, and I appreciated that, especially after a busy workday. The service was attentive without being overbearing. I'll definitely be returning for another round of that delicious chicken parm and a perfectly creamy espresso martini.

We came in on a Thursday at 10 pm, and it was dead, but only for a short while. There were no table service, I appreciated them telling us we needed to order at the bar; thus, we sat at the bar. The bartenders were wonderful and very helpful. Their old fashions were awesome. It was nice to find a place that knows how to make them. My partner got the wedge, which he really liked. I got the parmesan chicken sandwich, recommended from the bartender, and fries. That sandwich was or as he called it . It was amazing. I wish I hadn't shared it with my partner. It was so good, I woke up thinking about it this morning. The fries were also REALLY good. They had the perfect seasoning on them you didn't even need ketchup. Overall, this was an awesome place to eat I would go back here in a heartbeat. Tip : after 6pm parking on the streets near it is free.

House made potato chips. Really good.

The staff is really nice and accommodating. I wanted the pasta with no sauce and they easily accommodated me. Nice tap list. Just a basic pub, nothing fancy. I'd go back for a beer. Definitely go for the house made chips!!! They are very good.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

I live super close to Optimist Hall, so it's been on my radar for a while. This particular night I wasn't feeling great, so I DoorDashed instead of dining in. I ordered the Royale with crispy fries and let me just say... I get it. The burger was genuinely impressive. The quality of the beef stood out immediately. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The meat to bun ratio was spot on, which is crucial. Nothing worse than a bread heavy burger. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the build was balanced, and even after delivery, everything held up beautifully. So far I've tried two burger spots in Charlotte, and this one takes the top spot. I'm not ready to declare it the best in the entire city just yet because my burger tour is ongoing, but right now it's leading the race. I'll definitely be going to Optimist Hall soon to try it fresh off the grill and experience the service and atmosphere firsthand. Expect an update. But based on this first round alone, Harriet's is absolutely worth the order. Burger lovers, this one deserves a try.

As a West Coast transplant now living in Charlotte, I have very specific standards when it comes to…read moreburgers. For me, the gold standard isn't fancy -- it's balance. Think that perfect meat-cheese-bread ratio you get at an In-N-Out: not too big, not too messy, not dripping everywhere, but still juicy and satisfying. A burger you can actually pick up and enjoy without resorting to a knife and fork like George Costanza. That's why I appreciate Ace No. 3. Their menu is refreshingly simple -- burgers, fries, shakes -- and that simplicity tells me they know exactly what they do well. Everything is made to order, and the consistency shows. The Ace burger is my go-to, and it delivers every time. The shoestring fries are excellent, and the sweet potato tots are another favorite. I've also treated myself to a milkshake here and there, and they're worth it. Fun bonus: they offer "boozy shakes" for adults, which adds a playful twist -- just note they have to be enjoyed on site. They also keep a short, rotating list of beers, which I appreciate. It's curated, not overwhelming. One thing I noticed recently -- and as a fellow marketer, I have to applaud this -- is their milkshake happy hour from 2-4 PM. That's a smart strategy to drive traffic during slower hours between lunch and dinner. Simple, effective, and well executed. A few practical notes: Parking can be a little tight because the lot behind the restaurant is small, but if you go during off-peak hours or order ahead for pickup, it's manageable. The Belmont neighborhood location is easy to get in and out of, and while it's not a high-traffic pedestrian area, that can actually work in your favor. Bottom line: As someone who grew up with West Coast burger culture, this is the closest I've found in Charlotte to that classic, satisfying bite -- even if it costs a bit more than In-N-Out. The quality and execution make it worth it. Get out there, eat well, be curious -- and follow me as I continue eating my way through Charlotte.

The vibe is fun very eclectic with ample inside and outside seating. The service is Amazing! We've never had a bad experience with the people at this spot. As a New Yorker we have our share of markets/food halls and OH fits the familiar script, with a slightly smaller footprint than what I've experienced. What never seems to change is that securing seating can be a challenge because all spots are "prime" real estate and the abundance of choices is an indecisive person's nightmare. Nonetheless, to all the foodies at heart those are just minor details for mere mortals... lol. We managed to grab a larger enough table and everyone circled until we made our individual choices and then returned to our central meeting spot to break bread and indulge in all of our finds. We enjoyed several of the eateries we experienced and I was particularly intrigued by the plant store (albeit kinda pricey). Return is a no brainer especially for the places that were most memorable.
