Fahrenheit Charlotte - Five at $5 Happy Hour We stopped in on a rainy Monday around 5:15 for the "Five at $5" bar bites at Fahrenheit atop the Hilton. Even with cloudy skies, the skyline views were still beautiful. Happy hour seating is limited to the bar area, but we managed to grab the large table for our group of five. Service was prompt, friendly, and polished, and the atmosphere stayed upscale but relaxed as the bar slowly filled in. The $5 plates are a surprisingly good deal for a rooftop spot. Truffle Fries were crispy and addictive (we ordered three rounds), though they could've used a heavier hand with the truffle and better parmesan than the grated kind. The Hawaiian BBQ Pork Slider was moist and flavorful, but a little more pineapple teriyaki would've taken it to the next level. however, the most Hawaiian thing about it was the Hawaiian roll. Japanese Karaage delivered exactly what you want: crispy outside, juicy chicken inside, and a rich tonkatsu aioli for dipping. The Herb Marinated Beef Skewers were the standout, tender, nicely charred, and so flavorful we ordered two more plates. It is very hard to rate this restaurant. Why? Well let's starts with the good. This restaurant is located on the top floor of a mix used building with Apartments, hotel, and this restaurant. It offers a great view of the city, the outside patio area is amazing. Our server was excellent, Eric and Pear did an amazing job, they are friendly and caring, most of the staff seem to be great too. Well here comes the food part. The Tomahawk Steak was amazing, it was cooked well, for the price of $140, this can feeds four. The presentation is excellent. The sushi roll was good, nothing special. The mushroom pizza was good, again nothing special. The Tuna Nachos was good, it needs more tuna and cheese, great presentation. Rock Shrimp is okay, just some fried shrimp with sauce. Then the worst is the lobster dumplings, I will suggest not to order this, this is just lobster rangoon, I can't tasted the lobster and it is really disappointing considering the price of $23. Overall it is a very mid tier restaurant for food, if this is not because of the rooftop I think it will not do well. Also here is the worst part, remember I said the mix used of the building, well the parking here is chaos, it is the worst for a uptown hotel with valet, it took forever to get our car and forever to get out because all the car stuck parking. The valet attendant is mad about everyone, but he was friendly to me. The mix use of building can be confusing even with elevator. Also dress code? It was all over my reservation email and outside the restaurant, it is not a fine dining dress code. It is more like a club dress code. Yes it is ok with jeans. I was visiting Charlotte from DC and had heard great things about Farenheit, so I made a 9:15 PM reservation through OpenTable expecting a smooth and enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations. We arrived on time for our reservation, yet we were not seated until 9:55 PM -- a full 40 minutes late. No meaningful explanation, no accommodation, just a long wait despite having a confirmed reservation. When we were finally seated, we were placed outside in extremely cold weather and told that was "all they had available." After waiting that long, being seated outdoors in uncomfortable conditions was disappointing, especially given the price point of this establishment. The service from our server was actually good -- she was attentive and professional -- but that was the only positive part of the evening. For two people, with just two drinks total and dinner, the tab exceeded $200. At that price, you expect a premium experience -- proper seating, smooth reservation handling, and overall hospitality. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Coming from DC (and having spent years in KC as well), rooftop bars overlooking downtown are nothing new. There are plenty that execute the concept far better -- with better service management and guest experience. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. Probably one of the best views of the city here I Passed by for some quick pre-dinner drinks and really enjoyed their lounge/view! I would recommend coming for sunset time. You definitely have to make reservations if you're coming for dinner and request an outside seating as they have inside and outside seating. We intentionally came only for a quick drink and they let us grab a seat at the bar. If you visit just the bar, you are allowed to walk around the rooftop and they have only a handful of lounging seats where you can also sit to enjoy the view. read more

"This is the worst birthday dinner experience i've ever had." - my best friend whose birthday dinner we had here in July. We've been here before to have drinks on the rooftop and that's always been delightful along with the bartenders. We decided to have her dinner here based off of these prior experiences and we are sorry to say we will keep it to the rooftop bar and never dine in again. Our server Lilly couldn't be bothered to do her job well or politely. First, She took one persons drink order only and then walked away from the rest of us. She came through enough for us to get apps in but even then seemed bothered. When we needed her, we asked other passing staff members to please grab her for us and they also couldn't be bothered. The carpaccio was amazing but the Ahi Tuna nachos were sloppily plated with not enough tuna for the price! If you're new to a cloth napkin place, you'll like it ... but like many things atop a Hyatt Place, further inspection has the ratings revert to the mean. Killer views that don't have a match in Charlotte help a lot, but the outside dining area lacks much character otherwise. Same with inside. It's built for throughput and has a decent menu and a surprisingly strong NA menu. If you've read this far, you're likely not heading there anyhow, but don't let it scare you. It's fine. Someone at our table ordered the short rib steam buns ($21l but I don't eat beef or pork so I passed on that. I ended up getting a Margerita pizza. It was good, but not sure it was worth $30. Several of the guys in our party ordered steaks, which looked huge. Someone at our table ordered a signature sushi roll ($24) and it looked great...after I saw it I wish I had gotten that instead of pizza. Entrees here ranged from $30-75, so be prepared to spend some $. They do have some huge signature sushi rolls for $24. Our server was very sweet, but was very slow. Also, the kitchen did not do a good job ensuring that all the food came out at the same time. For some reason my pizza took forever to come out and everyone else sat there awkwardly letting their entrees get cold while waiting for mine to be brought out. (I told them all to go ahead & eat while it was hot but they all refused...so by the time mine arrived they had cold food.) For the price point you would expect to see a better quality of serive & attention to details. Overall, it was ok but not great. I visited Fahrenheit on June 12, 2026, with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. We had a 9:00 PM reservation and were seated immediately by two wonderful hostesses. Unfortunately, they turned out to be the only competent employees we encountered that evening. We were seated in Kevin's section, and from that moment on, the experience was an absolute disaster. Despite having only a handful of tables, Kevin somehow managed to ignore us for over twenty minutes. In fact, we had to involve a hostess just to remind him that his section included human beings. Even then, another seven minutes passed before he finally made his way over. His grand entrance consisted of pouring water and immediately disappearing again. No greeting. No apology. No explanation. No effort whatsoever. Apparently, basic hospitality was asking too much. What made the situation even more insulting was watching Kevin happily offer newly seated tables the bottled water option while deciding we weren't worthy of the same courtesy. I eventually had to sarcastically ask for it myself. Nothing says "fine dining" quite like having to beg your server for the same treatment everyone else receives. We spent over $230, and I can confidently say this was some of the worst service I have experienced anywhere. The food was mediocre at best, but that isn't why I'm writing this review. Food can be improved. Recipes can be changed. A server with absolutely no sense of urgency, professionalism, or pride in his work is a much bigger problem. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I understand bad nights. This wasn't one. Kevin wasn't overwhelmed. He wasn't slammed. He simply didn't care. There is a difference. Needless to say, I left a $0 tip. Tipping is a reward for service rendered, not a charitable donation for showing up physically while mentally checking out. Kevin knows exactly who I am, and he knows exactly how poor his performance was. If this level of service is acceptable at Fahrenheit, then management has far bigger problems than the kitchen. Fahrenheit likes to market itself as an upscale dining experience. In reality, upscale prices mean absolutely nothing when guests are treated as an inconvenience. No restaurant can survive on atmosphere and marketing alone while employing people who seem annoyed by the very concept of serving customers. Fahrenheit, you can replace ingredients. You can redesign menus. You can renovate dining rooms. What you cannot afford is employees who single-handedly ruin special occasions and leave customers wondering why they didn't spend their money literally anywhere else. Kevin does not belong in hospitality, and the fact that he represents your restaurant speaks volumes. Do better and relieve him of his employment. read more

My friends and I went here to celebrate my Birthday with yummy desserts. The desserts were tasty. I got the blueberry cobbler. The presentation was beautiful with edible flowers on top of the cobbler but the taste was the best part. The juicy and warm blueberries filling, the sweetness from the compote with vanilla bean and Bourbon brown sugar. Our waitress also bought out a delicious Birthday dessert for me. We went to Fahrenheit for restaurant week and the food blew my socks off! I have been hesitant to go here for years because I heard the food was iffy. I know they recently got a new chef and I must say the food was to die for! Ahi poke nachos were fantastic and the tuna melted in my mouth. I got the miso black cod which was only on the restaurant week menu but it was some of the best fish I have ever had. There was so much flavor, the fish was cooked perfectly, and it cut like butter. I really hope they consider putting this on their menu. My only suggestion would be that I wish there was more wasabi in the mashed potatoes, I couldn't taste the flavor. read more

My group of three ladies who attend the Nutcracker every Christmas (four years and running) decided to repeat last year's dining experience with three new members. Our reservation was set for 5:15pm, and our group arrived early enough to start the evening with a delicious cocktail in the gorgeous bar area. My cocktail choice was the Lady of the Dynasty, which has SelvaRey Coconut Rum, Tito's Vodka, Lychee Juice, Lychee Syrup, Lemon Juice, Coconut Cream, Clarified Milk, and a Toasted Coconut Rim. The term perfection is less than appropriate! We were escorted by one of their friendly hosts to the most epic of tables, which is a lovely semi-circular booth in the northeast corner of the dining room. It featured panoramic views of downtown Charlotte and was decorated in classy and festive holiday decor. The Executive Chef, Justin Loo, visited our table to greet the repeat customers and meet the new three members. He is an amazingly warm and sincere person and personifies the entire feeling at this elegant restaurant as being very upscale while also being warm and welcoming. He always treats us like family. The ladies and I shared the Dynamite Rock Shrimp, Ahi Poke Nachos, American Wagyu Short Rib Steam Buns, Tokyo Street Corn, and Crispy Brussels. For dinner we enjoyed the Margherita and Lobster pizzas, Slow Braised American Wagyu Short Ribs, Chicken Schnitzel, and a 10oz Hand Cut Filet. Each dish was extraordinary and exquisite! We could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. Before leaving, we went outside to enjoy the spectacular vistas in the chilly winter air. Fahrenheit has been on my list since I moved to Charlotte. I had to go on a solo dinner date as part of a challenge, and thought this would be a great place to go for happy hour. I definitely appreciated the $5 happy hour menu! Great deal for a place that is usually more on the pricey end. It was a bummer that you are not allowed to be served food outdoors as I was excited too check out the views. Although I appreciated the prices of the happy hour menu, the food was subpar. The fries were fine, the sliders were too salty, in the karage chicken was overcooked. To start off the location is beautiful as you have a view of the entire Charlotte Queen City. The food menu sounds absolutely amazing. The vibes of the restaurant was also pretty nice. Now, when it comes to ordering the food, I wouldn't say that the description matches the exact taste of the food. What I mean is the price point of the items compared to what you actually receive is not really worth what you get. The steak we ordered was not cooked to what we asked. Maybe it was just me expecting more but the potatoes that came with the steak also was very bland. Had not much of a taste to it. There is only one vegan option, and it was hard to eat. It was so salty and very confusing. I don't know what they were trying to do, but it was barely edible. To have such a young modern vibe, Fahrenheit is behind on modern cuisine, especially in the realm of non meat and dairy entrees. If I go again with friends, I will just get a salad and eat elsewhere before I go or I will skip it altogether. Additionally, the valet is a joke. The valet attendant told us where to park the car instead of him parking it. We had to walk in the rain back to him to get our valet ticket. He was doing this to everyone who pulled up. I told the restaurant hostess, but she said I needed to tell the hotel. I was there to have a nice dinner not to run around managing their employees. Between the food and especially because of Mason's exceptional service while we were at dinner I moved a birthday/anniversary (party of 8) celebration for my parents to this restaurant and asked to sit in his section when we come back. We just so happened to stay at the hotel where this restaurant is & we're blown away when we entered on the top floor to this beautiful atmosphere that provided a sophisticated dining area inside as well as a very calming vibe in the outdoor seating area that over looked Charlotte. The staff were quick & accommodating regardless of not having a reservation. Our waitress seemed a little overwhelmed upon our arrival but quickly refocused on our experience.
