Just completely amazed at the service experience with Machu Picchu Peruvian Cuisine & Bar--to say that ever single item that came out of our order was memorable is just not enough. It felt like we were celebrating Peru's cuisine in our own home with the amazing food we received. The Pinto Beans/Black Beans seasoning had a perfect balance of seasonings to create a comforting side. The Cancha (Pan-Fried Corn) offered just the right amount of salt to satisfy the cravings with their addictively crunchy texture. It is no surprise it is such a well-liked snack. The Caldo De Gallina was one of our highlights. It had a wonderful, rich broth with perfectly rendered chicken. This is the type of soup that's always going to smother you with its comfort. The anticuchos were smoky, delicious, and packed with incredible flavor. It's no surprise that the anticuchos were a hit at this restaurant! This is typical street food brought right to our table. Arroz Chaufa Chicken came with lots of flavor. The rice is fluffy. The shredded chicken is soft. The vegetables add pops of color. It is a fusion cuisine that Machu Picchu does well. It combines texture and flavor well. The standout item on the menu had to be the Rotisserie Chicken with 3 sides. Not only could we have enjoyed the poultry alone or with two sides of our choice, we could have ordered it with three sides of our choice. The chicken itself was moist and well flavored. The sides ranged from coleslaw to beans. This meal alone could have been a Ordering for the delivery service went smoothly, and attention to every detail was evident-even the packing of the food allowed for them to remain hot. The food portions were large, and there is no question that Machu Picchu offers the best Peruvian cuisine in town. This is the place to come if you're looking for comfort foods or if you have cravings for something exotic and new.
All the restaurants around Pineville seemed to be closed for lunch on a Monday. So, my friend and I came here to celebrate my birthday since it was open. They brought the dry corn typical to Peruvian cuisine as a snack. They served our sodas in cute little jar glasses. We both got the Lomo Saltado lunch ($15). It was really good ! It wasn't too salty as I see some of the reviews mentioned. So hopefully they corrected that issue for good. The portion of beef was also a good size for lunch. The food was much better than the last time I was here in 2021. However, I got totally different items. The beef in the Lomo Saltado was very tender and tasted great ! For dessert I got the mil hojas. This time it was very good. Lots of dulce de leches between the layers. Our waitress was very sweet, but had a bit of difficulty speaking English. I speak Spanish, so for me it was no problem. There were about 4 other couples having lunch at the same time. I love the lights they have hanging from the ceiling. Now I will consider putting this place back into my restaurant rotation.
I went to Machu Picchu restaurant three times. The food is very good, and most plates taste real Peruvian food. The service is not the best and they don't speak English, and I think sometimes the waitress is a little scary plus, they don't explain about the food. The ambiance is good, clean, and broad.
Lunch with coworkers Parking lot with other businesses. Kind of dark inside and music playing. No other patrons in the restaurant when we arrived. I joined the gathering a little later than others, no one took my drink order until the food order was taken. Speaking of drinks, why are you running out of TEA at 12:30pm??!! The fried rice with shrimp only----the shrimp was already dead but super dead and over cooked by the time I got my dish. I love shrimp but not those rubbery ones. Needless to say, I would not return.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great, the waitresses were super nice. I'm Brazilian, but I have a special place in my heart for Peruvian food, I will definitely come back and bring some friends. I posted it on my Instagram stories (jualeka), it was a success.

The menu seems extensive but in reality it is a lot of choices with many of the same players coming off the bench (so many carbs: rice, plantains, and fries). Lori ordered the Jalea Single which is a lightly fried assortment of seafood and white fish served with a side of golden fried yucca, served with salsa criolla. The white fish was moist and tasty but the rest was basically an overfried assortment of breaded shrimp and calamari straight from the freezer. The yuca was hard as a brick. Yuck-a. My order of BISTEC A LO POBRE: "A breakfast for kings" was plentiful but the "steak" was merely a tough cut of cube steak that was nearly impossible to carve. Again, the fries were straight from the freezer bag, and while good, I don't consider $14.95 a lunch bargain with such cheap products. The winning ingredients were the side sauces and plantains which were excellent. We decided to order their Mil Hojas dessert which looked enticing. Described as "puff pastry filled with dulce de leche", we struggled to find the filling and basically suffered through a plate of crumbling phillo dough. Bone dry and tasteless. At this point we simply stopped ordering--it just kept getting worse. The staff was wonderful, and the vibe of the place promising; however, I cannot give a recommendation. Bummer.

Second time stopping by for late lunch! Free salsa & chips (very good) The place has great cocktails coconut , pineapple margarita - delicious ! jalapeño margarita nice with Tajin around the rim They're generous with the tequila , you can get for extra $3 a large size drink Seafood soup , delicious and hearty Burritos are nice with delicious sauce This is definitely a nice place if you are craving Peruvian or Mexican food ! read more
We ordered the food online and when we came in to pick it up the order they didn't know anything about it. The gentleman said the order was canceled and that we would have to pay for it again. There was a difference in the amount placing the order online than it was to pay in the restaurant. We ordered 4 dishes and they were all very flavorful but in our opinion the price we paid for each of these dishes we should've received more food for each entree minus the appetizer we ordered. read more

The food is good -but the service is very bad. Our waitress sat in the back playing on her phone and we had to wait for her to take a break before being waited on. Very annoying. read more

Loveeeeee this place. It never disappoints. Pollo a la brasa 10/10, ceviche 7/10, anticuchos 10/10! They also have Pilsen Callao beer. I haven't tasted food like this in charlotte since I was living in Peru!! Definitely recommend it's worth it ! read more

What makes a good Lomo Saltado is the quality of meat. If you go cheap on the quality of meat it doesn't matter who's in the kitchen, your food will be subpar. The Sautéed Beef tips were extremely hard and tough and not enjoyable at all. I'm from South Florida where there's a GOOD Peruvian restaurant on every corner. The Aji de Gallina is ok and their Chicha Morada needs improvement. They are lacking on the desserts as well. A Peruvian restaurant without SUSPIRO LIMEÑO is not authentic. I've yet to find an authentic Peruvian restaurant in North Carolina, but I'm hopeful one will appear one day. read more

I've been here twice...once a couple years ago and the other time, just last night (5-14-16). Machu is pretty nondescript, located in a strip mall with a Food Lion. The servers and waitstaff are so friendly and immediately greet you upon arrival. The inside is lit pretty dimly and includes a full bar. If you have a large group or a party of two, there's plenty of space to accommodate you. In terms of large parties, they prepare food and meals 'family style' so lots of sharing can be done. I personally recommend trying the Peruvian beverages, both non and alcoholic. I've tried the chicha morada (purple corn juice drink) and the mango/passion fruit flavor. I found the original chicha morada to be a tad too syrupy sweet but the mango/passion fruit flavor was/is delicious. Also, if you're in the mood for an alcoholic Peruvian beverage, go for the Pisco Sour. Tart and delicious. Goes down a little too smoothly. As for the food, my favorites include the plaintains which are sweetly charred, the arroz con chaufa(very similar to Chinese chicken fried rice), and there's a beef dish that I completely forget the name of but is served with peppers and potatoes. The menu is quite extensive and there's something bound to please every taste bud in your group. read more

I went there to eat last night and although there are a lot of restrictions in the state they were open till 10 so I chose to go there. I had the fish and steak bites appetizer and it was amazing the price is great the environment was awesome this is a very clean restaurant somewhere to definitely consider if you're in the mood for some Latin culture and food read more
So we were leaving from Triveni when my husband pointed this place out and because I needed a snack before dinner I made him turn back! It's a huge restaurant but until we left we were the only customers in there! So we ordered a chicken tamal and a papa rellena. The tamal is a regular one, but without an E! It was pretty wide and the chicken was along the length on both sides instead of a pocket in the middle. I thought there was too much of the corn because of that since the middle was all corn! I would have it again though! The papa rellena was HUGE and although it had a much higher potato: meat ratio than I would have liked it tasted good, especially with the onion salad and the sauces! You must be wondering why I've given 4 stars even though I felt there was much less meat? Well, with the pandemic I understand trying to cut costs so I don't mind for now I'll definitely be back for a proper meal! read more

This place is wonderful! So far everything I've tried has been tasty!!!!!! I give 3 stars ONLY because of service. What a shame. The service was not up to par whatsoever. LONG wait until seated and then our server didn't check on us at all. In fact, we had to bother another waitress 3 times in order to get the attention of our own. The food price wise? A TAD bit overpriced. 70 bucks for 2 cocktails, 2 plates and an appetizer. Meh. Was tasty though. Waiteress didn't refill our water when there wasn't a single drop left! Besides that, food and beverages are a definite hit! Maybe I'll order take out next time, or.... just be prepared to have a wait. I guess I'll decide when that day comes! :) read more

There are a few times when your drink is expertly crafted! This was one restaurant that crafts the best "pisco sour" in town! The restaurant was a humble looking Peruvian cuisine in south Charlotte. The interiors was amazing, you will be in awe seeing the huge machu pichu scenic picture on the walls! The tables were somewhat small for an average human. The menu felt like Authentic Peruvian with little or no Americanization. The waitress apologized she knows only Spanish and little English- but she was super helpful and we had fun communicating to her. The dishes came in after a short wait. The quantity on the plates were barely enough! The fried fish and white rice tasted very bland and with onions side, you would wonder how to eat the food! Lucky we asked for sauces and got some smaller cups of three sauces ( more like the ones you get in Viva chicken). We finally left home wondering if our dinner was pleasant or not! Would recommend trying here just for the pisco sour drink - haven't been impressed on the food yet! read more
Recommended by a Peruvian lady we met while shopping, we decided to try this restaurant for dinner . The 1st thing I noticed when I entered the restaurant was that it had a nice bright atmosphere of red and black decor. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who explained the food on the menu and suggested some dishes for us to try since we told him we were new here . Fried corn kernels were brought to our table as an appetizer . My dining mate ordered the papa rellena- mashed potato puffs filled with ground beef, egg and olives and served with salsa criolla, a red onion , lime and cilantro combo. This was delicious. I ordered the 1/2 rotisserie chicken with 2 sides. The chicken was marinated and smoked. It was tender and delicious. My sides were a salad and sweet potato fries. My dining mate ordered Aji De Gallina, or shredded chicken with a yellow bell pepper sauce with sliced boiled potatoes and rice. The flavor was mellow and pleasing. The food came out hot, nicely plated, good portions and everything tasty. A bit pricey for some dishes. Menu features a variety of Peruvian, fish, beef, chicken and specialties such as Ceviches, rice and pasta dishes, soups , appetizers as well as desserts. The variety of sides:, fried plantains, yucca, beans and rice, salads, sweet potato fries, eggs served any way plus other sides. There is something for everybody here. We will certainly return. read more

Come here for some traditional Peruvian food and to support a local restaurant! There's the Peruvian style 1/2 chicken with sides, ceviches, Chicharróns, fish and meat dishes and more. They've updated the menu for optics but the food is mostly the same. Weeknight specials are available like BOGO 1/2 price apps and a small discount on the 1/2 chicken. The prices typically range in the $10-$20. If you order something you don't like the first time, I'd recommend coming back and trying something else. I believe you'll quickly find something to enjoy. They still have the tv's for futbol but it's never crowded when we've come to just eat. Nothing spectacular with the service but a nice casual dinner suits me perfectly fine. read more
