This is a private bar. They do allow well behaved visitors. I enjoyed playing a couple of games on the billiards.

This is not a place that you come to for the ambience, but if you want solid wings, you're in the right place. They have an abundance of flavors, the classic sauces and all the sides you can imagine. I really liked that you could get a half order on the sides too. The ladies serving were working hard, but you didn't wait for anything. I would say, if you're coming here for a game, I'd get there early - there's not a ton of seats.

I met some friends at DD Peckers for a fun night of storytelling, laughter, drinks, and wings. It…read morewas a seven-stars-out-of-five experience. Out of the four of us, I was the only one who hadn't been here before. It's a long-standing, no-frills wing shack/sports-bar hybrid in south Charlotte that's built a loyal following around one thing: serious wings. There are other things on the menu--but unless you want an appetizer or something alongside your wings, ignore them--the wings are the main event. Their website claims 25 flavors, and if you order more than one set of five, you can sample more than one. I went with ten wings: mild Buffalo and lemon pepper. Everyone recommended the lemon pepper wings. These are not a dry rub; they're a wet, glossy toss--and they are OUTSTANDING. I'm hooked. The Buffalo wings were on par with the best versions of the classic style. They provide celery sticks with blue cheese or ranch dressing--I chose blue cheese--and it was a great accompaniment. We also had their Spicy Onion Rings as an appetizer before we ordered the wings. The onion itself brings natural sweetness and mild sharpness (especially when hot), while the batter/coating is where the personality lives: savory, slightly salty, and well-seasoned. DD Peckers' spicy onion rings are essentially a classic crispy onion ring elevated with a peppery seasoning--where the heat enhances the onion's natural sweetness rather than overpowering it. They have a great selection of craft beers and ciders and offer a full bar. Most of us had Olde Mecklenburg Brewery Copper, a local Charlotte beer. I had two bottles of Bold Rock Hard Apple Cider, which paired well with both the onion rings and the wings, along with a glass of Olde Mecklenburg Copper in between. Our waitress was attentive, fun, and efficient. She kept everything moving seamlessly, and all of our needs were met exceptionally. We all tipped her well. The food and drink here are quite a bargain--especially considering how iconic this restaurant is and how delicious their wings are. A great night with friends, good drinks, and incredible wings--what could be better?

My girlfriend and I decided to eat at Twin Peaks and overall had a really good experience. The…read moreatmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a sports lodge--tons of TVs everywhere so you can catch every game, but with that rustic outdoor theme too. Mounted game fish, moose, and deer heads give it that hunting-lodge vibe, which actually makes it a fun place to hang out and watch sports. We started with the Billionaire Bacon appetizer--six slices of bacon described as thick-cut, hickory-smoked and candied with brown sugar, red chile flakes, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cayenne. The flavor description was accurate, but the bacon itself really wasn't thick-cut and could've been much crispier. For the price, I expected better. If it had been thicker and crispy, it might've been worth it, but I probably won't order that again. My girlfriend ordered the Southwest Salad, and that dish absolutely delivered. It was a heaping portion topped with perfectly cooked sliced sirloin steak and shrimp, plus mixed greens, carrots, pico de gallo, roasted corn, black beans, pepper jack, and a jalapeño honey vinaigrette. She absolutely loved it. She also got a side of coleslaw, which was surprisingly delicious and a great addition to the meal. She paired everything with the Dirty Blonde beer, which definitely made up for the disappointing appetizer. I went with the naked garlic Parmesan wings and a side Caesar salad. Both were delicious. The wings were fried perfectly--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside--and the flavor was spot on. I was very satisfied with them. Service was great as well. We actually had two servers because one was in training, and both of them were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, I'd rate our experience a 4.5 out of 5. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all really good, and we had a fun time. If not for the underwhelming Billionaire Bacon, this would've easily been a full 5. We'll definitely be back--just skipping that appetizer next time.

Overall, the…read morerestaurant area is actually pretty solid as a sports bar setup with great, clear screens for watching a game. Just be aware that the background noise from the game machines in the arcade can be a bit overbearing, though it's tolerable if you go in expecting that to be part of the experience. The menu offers a pretty decent mix of choices. I ended up ordering the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. The presentation was nice, but the dish itself was unfortunately somewhat oversalted, making for a less pleasant meal. As for the service, the staff was friendly, but not particularly attentive. It took a long time for our server to take our order--despite her only having two tables at the time--and another long delay at the end of the meal to get our check. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience for dinner, but definitely not a great one either. We likely wouldn't return just for dinner alone, but we might try it again if we plan on doing some gaming as well. One additional pet peeve note which seems to be a growing trend in some restaurants. Payment at the table with the server standing there waiting for the device while you tap your card and enter their tip. I am not a fan of this as it makes the tipping experience a bit awkward, especially if the service was mediocre or poor. Would like to see more of leave the device at the table and pick it up after either a few minutes or the guest departs.
