My only negative about this place is that they don't allow tank-top shirts, which in hindsight probably makes sense to deter overly strong men from eating all the delicious food. We came here for lunch and the service was great. The food left me wanting more - not because it was underwhelming; rather, it was so delicious that the only thing stopping me from eating was the fact my food was gone. Get the fries! The menu choices are very good with unique differences than most bars. My fries were flavored well but could have been fresher. My burger had great flavor but was cooked well done so the meat was dried out. The service was a bit off. I felt like I was an afterthought. Looking for a place on our travel south from NC. A little off the beaten path but lots of good looking food and tvs. It is seat yourself so grab a seat when you walk in. One side has the TVs. Outside seating as well. Menu is large with lots of choices. I got the DM which was kinda like an Italian hoagie. Really good. Loved the dressing and the little bite from the peppers. Fries were delicious as well. Nice and crispy. Deb asked for the chicken salad on a croissant which they had no problem with. It was very tasty as well. Come in for lunch at 12:00. I sit and am promptly greeted. I get my drink and food order immediately. Server comes back with drink in a minute or two. No complaints, everything is normal. I ordered a salmon blt with fries. I get it all the time there and it's just an easy go to. After 45 min I see two tables get their food before me. Not a problem, sometimes orders cook quicker than others. I notice a guy at the bar looking through his basket, touching the food. It looks that he got my food. The server that brought it to him is corrected by another. She grabs the food and walks it to me. I, having seen him touch the food, decline it stating that it was already placed in front of him and he had touched the food. As a former server/bartender, our restaurant rule was that food that goes to the wrong table cannot be taken to the proper table if the plate has touched the incorrect table (in other words left the servers hands). Server then offers for them to remake it, however I was running out of time after waiting 45 min already, and did not feel comfortable after witnessing mishandling of my food and being offered food from another table. Thank you, Amy Lauren S. for the recommendation on Apple Annie's. I'd probably have kept driving past this place because it really doesn't look like much from the outside. And actually, there isn't really much fancy on the inside either. But once you get past that, you'll notice that there's a wall of beer that has a dozen taps and a whole lot of bottles and cans. I started with a locally brewed draft and then switched over to the Sierra Nevada that was on special. (Any SN for $2 each? Heck, yeah!) I did find a power outlet - under the table in the "hallway" between the deli and the bar. Drinking beers and working with my colleague on our laptops, we ate up a bit of their wifi (passcode is their name in lowercase with no space) before our dinners arrived. I'd chosen the burger with pimento cheese and it was the apex of tasty and messy deliciousness. Hot beef, melty cheese and a perfect stack of veggies? Yes! I did switch out the fries for macaroni salad. It was tasty, too. Great selection of beers, a very tasty burger and good service? That's five stars for me. MANY others. And the first time me I came to Apple Annie's, I sat at the bar, on a Monday. And I ordered the special which was a Jim Beam for $3 and a glass of beer I took the shot like anyone would and immediately started drinking my beer. After about 45m it was gone: So I sipped away the drops. I started to wait for the bartender to check on me to ask if I wanted another - I did Guys - I never leave these kinda reviews And at this point - IDGAF - if you believe me This experience was absolutely petrifying IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN FLORENCE - and we're NOT BORN IN FLORENCE AND DID NOT GO TO SCHOOL AND BE RAISED HERE - do not fucking go near this pathetic establishment. It will die when it's babies die which is inevitable- do not come here expecting to be treated like a god damn fucking human being. We sat outside on the deck of Apple Annie's for lunch. Not too crowded. Service was fine. Our waiter was friendly. The deck was almost in the parking lot next to a busy road, so it's not like there's a lot of ambiance or anything. Food was good. But it was all heavy, greasy bar food. I had the dip with homemade chips and it was tasty. Bathrooms not particularly clean. This is more of a bar than a restaurant. I gave it a 3 because it's like a bar and all the things that come with it. Dingy interior, not terribly clean, and food that is fine but not award winning or anything. Probably would be giving a one star if my girlfriend complained but she seemed to like what she ordered. Unfortunately I on the other hand did not. Sweet tea seemed days old( probably not but dispenser may need to be cleaned or something idk) chicken sandwich had two bones in it, and the homemade chips were either cold and undercooked(greasy and soggy) or cold and overcooked to hard to bite. read more

Last time there I ordered the Reuben and fries. The fries were delicious, as usual. Got to the Reuben, took a bite, spit it out. It was disgusting... tasting like a combination of plastic and textured lard. (And that's not even the worst of it because I *do* have some weird food karma from time to time, which I can overlook usually; which would have made this review a four star had the following not happened). So when the waitress came by the next time, I told her it tasted dangerous. She said, "Oh." and took the plate. That's it. No, "Can I get you something else?" No "I'm so sorry. What's wrong with it?" Nothing. No more words. Nothing at all. That would be the last time we would hear words from our waitress: "Oh." After about 15 minutes and two or three times of her passing us casually (empty-handed) and our amusement over her behavior quickly waning, C. goes to the bar to tell another person who worked there what happened and then currently what was happening... Her solution was to remove it from the bill; Not get a manager. Not to find and ask our waitress if there was any kind of plan for me to eat... Nothing. It was the most bizarre experience in service I'd ever had. We paid for his meal and didn't leave a tip. I plan on being there tomorrow for lunch (again) and will update this review I'm sure of it. This waitress, who I'd never seen before, wasn't one of my regulars - who are AWESOME - and I won't let her serve me again if she's there. Also, I will not order the Reuben. read more

While the outside patio was busy, it wasn't slammed. I felt as if my waitress kept running off to take care of everyone else first. She dropped off my drink order, and whie I was ready to order, she was not. "I'll be right back" she said as she rushed off to collect another tables' check. A few minutes later I had to stop her again just to place my order, as I was in a hurry to start the three hour drive to Savannah ahead of me. I liked my sandwich, but would have liked it a lot better if it contained more than a few small pieces of meat on the soft roll. Perhaps I just hit Apple Annies at a bad time. We stopped in here after the Tough Mudder looking for a place to booze while watching the last of the games that were on. They had a very decent bar, great beer specials and the bartender was a cool guy. There were TV's all over the place, all tuned to various games. The place was jumping, but is there really all that much to do in Florence? No offense, guys. I thought Apple Annie's was doing a good job handling the crowd. Everyone seemed to have a drink in hand and having a good time. They had a three-piece band doing decent covers of good songs, and although I thought they were WAY too loud given the size of the place, that seems to be universal in bars. Another one of our explorations. Anytime we go out of town, we try to find local establishments. We headed to Florence last night and found Apple Annie's. The food was awesome and the atmosphere was very cool. We sat outside and enjoyed an adult beverage and our dinner. Dave got the Dip and I got the Tay Dog which was a chicken teriyaki, bacon and cheese on a hoagie roll. Homemade chips and fries as sides were on point. One of my favorite spots since I moved to town. A great beer selection and very knowledgeable guys that serve on the specialty beer side. They always have awesome live music on Friday and Saturdays, and pretty good food at a decent price (great wings and sandwiches). The service on the restaurant side has take a bit of a dip in the last few months, but the staff is friendly and the bartenders are all amazing. I can't figure out why the people who I work with are so in love with this place. I have been here several times over the years and find this place to be barely adequate for a bar/pub. They have a wide selection of beers which doesn't really interest me but would be a big selling point for anyway looking for a little beer diversity in the FLO. The inside isn't all that expansive and they have a deck outside that usually gets filled up fast. Service is spotty at times. I have had a smattering of their different sandwiches (burgers and chicken sandwiches) which have all just been ok. Never really had any of them that I would consider bad. The sides and fries are also just average. I don't mind ordering food here when out on social gatherings but I wouldn't eat here for any other reason. Head here for the beer and bar atmosphere but get your food elsewhere. read more
