My only negative about this place is that they don't allow tank-top shirts, which in hindsight probably makes sense to deter overly strong men from eating all the delicious food. We came here for lunch and the service was great. The food left me wanting more - not because it was underwhelming; rather, it was so delicious that the only thing stopping me from eating was the fact my food was gone. Get the fries! The cheesesteak was fantastic and I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town. The sandwiches are huge and I missed getting a pic of my partner's wrap before she crushed it.

Looking for a place on our travel south from NC. A little off the beaten path but lots of good looking food and tvs. It is seat yourself so grab a seat when you walk in. One side has the TVs. Outside seating as well. Menu is large with lots of choices. I got the DM which was kinda like an Italian hoagie. Really good. Loved the dressing and the little bite from the peppers. Fries were delicious as well. Nice and crispy. Deb asked for the chicken salad on a croissant which they had no problem with. It was very tasty as well. Overall a solid locals spot with some really great pub food.

Great local restaurant and bar. Bands on Friday night. Cold beer for a great price. Tons of tvs. Food menu is unique and fresh. Love sitting outside on the porch too. Get by and check it out!

The food is good! The service is good as well! They have indoor and outdoor seating which is great! I wish there was more parking though.

Best Reuben sandwich in town!!!

This little place was quite a gem!!! The DIP sandwich was amazing with perfect cheese & angus beef on a soft yet toasted hoagie. My burger was the summerett. An angus burger with homemade pimento cheese (can never say no to homemade!) and I added bacon & pickles. Stoooopid good. The beer selection is top notch if you love a small brew, micro or local beer. Literally the wall is full of selections! You won't be disappointed!

Back again for lunch today with a friend. Great as always; Chelsea was an excellent server and my Reuben was delicious. I'll be back.

A small local beer hole that's balanced with a vast selection of beer. Nothing more, nothing less.

A Florence standout worth returning to!…read more As a San Francisco Bay Area foodie, I'm always searching for restaurants that care about sourcing, seasonality and the entire dining experience. Town Hall checked those boxes for me a couple of years ago, so when work brought me back to Florence, I knew exactly where I wanted to eat. I looked at other options first, but nothing appealed to me at quite the same level. Town Hall's farm-driven, Southern-inspired menu, shareable plates and beautiful setting won me over again. And I'm happy to report: the second visit was every bit as memorable as the first. We started with the house-made cornbread and honey butter at our server's recommendation. Be warned: this stuff is dangerous. Hot, sweet and almost cake-like, with that honey butter melting into it. We promptly ordered another basket. Cocktails were equally impressive. I ordered a Sidecar, and when our server asked my cognac preference, my colleague volunteered Hennessy. Hennessy it was--and it made one spectacular Sidecar. For dinner, our server described a scallop special served over a shrimp étouffée-style preparation with microgreens. Sold. I paired that with the wedge salad because, well, I needed some roughage. The wedge came beautifully dressed with blue cheese, tomatoes, pickled red onion and bacon. The scallops were beautifully seared and tender, and the rich sauce underneath made the dish. My dining companions joined the fun with the house-made sausage, another order of the scallops, and a ribeye with French fries swapped in for the creamed corn--a little steak frites moment. Everything landed beautifully. What impressed me almost as much as the food was the service choreography. Our server was knowledgeable, personable and attentive without hovering. There was thoughtful table touching throughout the evening. Our dishes arrived together, and no plates disappeared while someone else was still eating. Those details may seem small, but polished hospitality lives in those details. We were far too full for dessert, so we called it a night--happy, well-fed and already talking about how good everything had been. Town Hall is the kind of restaurant I hope to find when traveling for work: locally driven, interesting food, strong cocktails, beautiful surroundings and service that understands hospitality. Two visits several years apart, and both delivered. If you're in Florence--or passing through South Carolina on your way toward the coast--Town Hall is worth making part of the trip. Life is too short not to eat well, sleep well, travel well and shop well. Get out there and find your next destination.

Collards are technically I think cooked with meat but didn't have super heavy flavors for those that may still eat meat. Corn bread was absolutely delicious. Snap peas were delightfully sautéed in a cast iron with almost a blackened flavor. Highly recommend rooftop!!

Wholly Smokin' in Florence was a very good stop, especially if you're looking for barbecue with a…read morefun, casual atmosphere. I had the pulled chicken platter with lima beans and corn, plus a side of fried okra. Anjelina had the small pulled pork platter with slaw and the lima beans and corn. The food was DELICIOUS. Both the pulled chicken and pulled pork were tender, well cooked and full of flavor. The sauces were particularly good. The Kansas City style was sweet and savory, while the Carolina mustard sauce was tangy with just enough kick. Both were excellent with the barbecue. As usual, dining out for us requires a little more homework than simply deciding what sounds good. Between the two of us, we bring a tree nut allergy, Alpha-Gal syndrome, a gluten allergy and dairy sensitivity to the table -- with diabetes thrown in as the kicker, just in case ordering dinner was getting too easy. Our waiter seemed to genuinely understand the allergy issues and was confident in the restaurant's ability to accommodate them. He was friendly, helpful and made us comfortable with our choices. When you're dealing with actual food allergies, that confidence and knowledge matter. The dining room was spacious, clean and had a good casual barbecue atmosphere. There was also a live band playing while we were there, which we weren't expecting but ended up really enjoying. They were good, although the music made things a little loud. Wholly Smokin' works well for a casual date, getting together with friends or just a good everyday meal. I'd also be comfortable using it for a casual business lunch or dinner, although the live music could make conversation more difficult depending on when you visit. Good barbecue, excellent sauces, friendly service and a positive experience navigating our somewhat ridiculous collection of dietary restrictions. We'd happily eat here again.

The onion rings were also very poor in terms of taste and texture it was like eating a donut with an onion in the middle. My wife ordered the pulled pork plate with mac and cheese this also came with hush puppies the hush puppies were chewy and completely lacked any flavor, the pulled pork was tender but unfortunately had been over seasoned with a very harsh spice, her onion rings were also basically donuts with onions in the middle. The only highlight if you could call it that was the mac and cheese which was decent. How this place rates four stars I have absolutely no idea more like one and a half stars. As for the service our food was brought to us fairly quickly which was nice but we should have been informed that they were out of components for making some of the food which would have altered our menu selections. Clearly at some point this was a bar that had closed down and has now been reopened as a barbecue restaurant the decor is fairly simple and casual if not rustic. Overall a huge disappointment.
