The building and parking area is inviting, the interior is nice and clean, and there are plenty of places to sit. Our server was very sweet and pleasant, although she was a little slow moving. We started off with a soft pretzel appetizer, which was very good. I had the jumbo bbq sandwich with slaw and fries. My wife had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries. Both were delicious and plentiful. We had sweet tea to drink. The meal was excellent and we paid about $50 not including the tip. read more

All around a good experience in a simple but effective setting. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the pulled pork was excellent. Portion sizes were respectable, and we had some leftovers to take home. The server was available to answer questions and to take orders, patiently helpful without being pushy or rushed. read more

So excited for this addition to Florence! The space is so much more accessible now with the addition of the games and pool tables. We had a group of 6 adults and 2 kids and when we walked in and told the hostess it was like they'd seen a ghost despite there being plenty of tables/space. We had to wait like 10-15 minutes then were sat. The hostess tried to take our drink orders as soon as we sat down and we told her we needed a minute to scope out the beer list and she just didn't come back. Thankfully our server eventually showed up and she was great. Across the table we ordered almost everything on the menu. Highlights were the pork chop steak, ribs, and the baked beans. The wings were good, just a bit small, and the nachos were huge and we enjoyed the sauce/salsa on top. We'll definitely be back again and look forward to trying any specials they do. read more

The food is great. The service is amazing. What I absolutely despise about this restaurant is the management constantly booking large parties on Thursday or Friday nights, thus pushing out your regular customers. How are we supposed to know you've booked out half the place until we go to make reservation. I cannot fathom the frustration and annoyance customers who don't know about the reservation system have to go through because management wanted to let a group of people take over the restaurant on one of your busier nights of the week. read more

Visiting from the Pawleys Island - we have really good locally owned BBQ places here but I would happily make the drive to come back soon. The 4 of us all ordered different things - I'll break it down. I had one of the best smash burgers I've ever eaten. The Patties were deliciously, lightly seasoned, letting the fresh beef shine in its own light, with that good crisp on the edges as a smash burger should. Looking for a lighter side (nothing deep fried - more on that later) I was pleasantly surprised to get a thick slice of fresh, fully ripened seedless watermelon. Delicious! My buddy ordered the platter with ribs, pork BBQ & smoked sausage. I tried a tiny bite of each. The BBQ (which is whole hog, unlike most places that just smoke a butt which is a totally different taste) was tender, incredibly moist and the house sauce was *chef's kiss* the ribs were perfectly cooked (not fall off the bone mushy like some I've had but pull from the bone with some heft & chew to them) sauced perfectly from the kitchen. The sausage... OMG. A little (not too much) Cheesy with a nice jalepeno bite & so juicy & I will def get a whole link when we return. My brother got the small BBQ sandwich, when it came he said "this is the small?" - it was pretty dang big. He got the sweet potato fries (as did his wife) because they always do & they swear by them. She got the 3 chicken tenders plate - I wanted to ask for a bite but I was already full & didn't want to over do it - and I could tell by the way they looked it was freshly cut & battered breast, not frozen food service junk some pass off as "tenders" & so big she had to take one home with her sweet potato fries to eat later. Beer made on the premises - the Assembly is the "go to" because it's a lighter tasting lager (still 4.6 % ABV so def not a "light" beer!) pairing well with most food. Bonuses which take this from a 4 star to a 5 star rating are the gaming area in the corner for kids (and adults - they have 5 or 6 pinball machines & a pool table) to blow off steam, close enough to keep an eye on them but far away to not hear the noise, a great selection of music on the PA (if this place doesn't turn honky-tonk late in the evening it certainly should!) a very large dining area so the tables aren't shoved close together, the booths have wonderful high backs so you aren't staring at the people in the next booth, a large enough bar if you just want beer/BBQ on the quick, really fun tee shirts for sale (I bought one - whoever is designing them, tell them they're advertising your business in a unique way) and finally (FINALLY - this review is long!) the restrooms were immaculate. I always say the kitchen is going to be as clean as the restrooms. Kudos to our server, the cooks and the manager who brought a few of our plates because our server was busy with other tables - good managers do that, BTW) Very Highly Recommended. read more

Being from around the area I have been exposed to great bbq my whole life. When I saw the vinegar sauce in the table I knew I was in the right spot. Started out supper with the smoked wings with mustard sauce and they were crispy with flavor and the sauce complimented the wings perfectly. The atmosphere and service is excellent. Very kid friendly with the new kid's menu, ice cream and garden area as well as inside games and pool tables. You do have to order take out for the garden area, but with kids and budgets, it works; especially for young people who want to get together and talk. Tuesdays they do a $10 meal special. The food is good. They have changed the ribs to baby back which are good but not what they started out with so for me a disappointment. Why change? They are a brewery with many options. I like the stout (dissertation). If you prefer alcohol or wine, there are many options. It has been fun to watch how much Seminar has grown since new ownership and bringing in Elliott's. The whole hog bbq comes without sauce. They have a vinegar based sauce you may add but is not peppery The ribs were very good. The heat is in the baked beens. After reading an article on Elliot's, my wife and I were intrigued to try the BBQ Lounge, But was disappointed all the way around. I had the Trinity which was BBQ, baby back ribs and sausage with cheese. The food had little taste and was barely warm. In fact the BBQ was cold. The ribs were very short ribs and the sausage didn't taste like it was done. Won't be back and will tell others don't waste their time going. read more

I have been coming to Seminar/Elliots for the last few years. While there have been some menu changes over the years many food items are good, the bbq half chicken and the pork steak are winners BUT why ONLy the pimento cheese burger?? I used to look forward to their mushroom Swiss burger , the best in town. Why can't you offer more than one burger choice Elliot ?????? Not everyone likes pimento cheese. Would it kill you to have mushrooms and Swiss cheese on hand ? I used to say Elliot's had the best burgers in town BUT if you are only offering only one type of burger then I would say Buddys burgers us where you should go because there you have a choice. First time going , we were really excited to find a good BBQ place local ,BUT.... After about an hour after ordering we finally got our food and it was cold. Also we just ordered basic items that should have been ready. BBQ, ribs, rice, so nothing that really needed "cooking" . Grabbed a lunch at Elliott's today with friends (and kids & dog) and loved the experience. In the spirit of transparency, I have followed Elliott Moss' work since early 2000s at the Admiral, Ben's Tune Up and Buxton Hall in AVL. He is an amazing talent and I was happy to visit his new(er) operation in Florence. First off, the hostess/server was awesome, (shout out to Miss Jackie) and I loved that they were happy to welcome our pup with a bowl of water upon seating. Elliott was nice enough to take a few minutes with us to rehash some old memories and check on our food after finishing. I can't say enough how special a talent Elliott is but also how personable and rooted in his upbringing his masterful culinary efforts are. I feel lucky to have seen his efforts celebrated and rewarded during my time in AVL and am happy to see him bring those talents back to his home in the Pee Dee and see those dreams realized. Everything was wonderfully orchestrated and we had apps, entrees and amazing ice cream for dessert. It's an excellent spot with a brewery attached, courtyard and open dining room. So happy to see Elliott continue to do what he loves and in his hometown. Best of luck and continued success to one of the best! read more

We found this on Yelp. I wanted to take my husband to Victor's but they're remodeling so I Yelped restaurants. It was delicious! My husband had baby backs, potato salad and sweet potato fries. I had the combo plate of shredded bbq pork and ribs with potato salad and zipper peas. It was delicious! Our waitress, Jessie, was amazing! She was helpful with our order and very attentive! The entire experience was awful. The food temperature was poor and food lacked flavor. If a grown man asked for a Togo box for his entire meal to take home without eating it in the restaurant should have set off a red flag to the waitress there was a problem. My husband is way too nice to be honest that your food was terrible! I have to be the mama bear and say it's terrible that I had to go home to cook him supper since your food wasn't worth consuming. read more
