It's not your typical five star restaurant, but it deserves credit for its authenticity. A place to let lose after a long day with a crisp cold beer and laid back atmosphere. You can play classic tunes on the jukebox. As a shared appetizer, I recommend the wings which are fried to perfection paired with a creamy mild hot sauce. The main course did not let me down either. Salad was freshly made. Steak was cooked to liking, and the baked tater was perfect. The owner & bartender were very attentive & accommodating. This place isn't for you if you're any degree of "boujee." I guess not everyone can appreciate a place that has changed very little over the years. I felt like I was at a great uncle's man cave, one that serves good food & good times !!

After having the crab cake sandwich we would recommend doing the platter because the bread overpowers the crab cake. Everything was incredible, the flavors, consistency, and quality. It is for sure comfort food but nothing sits heavy and feels super fresh. Not a fan of coleslaw but it was super yummy and great corn fritters for our first time having them. Service was great. Ambiance was super informal and adds to the vibe of what you're eating. Also unrelated but the cashier/server has a super calming energy/presence/voice which totally added to the vibe

Came with slaw, 1x Side (Collard Greens: sweet vinegar with some heat, and a bit of pork, really good!), and some AMAZING Hushpuppies (fresh, sweet corn bread). Shrimp & Grits: Fantastic! Buttery and cheesy grits with sausage and nice shrimp (not over-cooked or chewy). Green beans were slightly too soft (30-mins until closing), but good comfort food. Coleslaw was "meh," but a good, crunchy foil to the fish and rice. Counter Service (order at register, then they bring to table/to-go) was quite fast, given that they had to cook the fish and prep foods for take-out. Everything looked clean, staff was nice, and owner was talking to everyone. Didn't get to try the variety of desserts, but they looked and smelled great. Traveling, but worth the stop!

She rolled her eyes at us and huffed like we were a bother. Let me say this, we were the only one in the restaurant and no one in the drive through, so it was not like they were busy or something. We got home to enjoy our 2 dinners or so we thought, ALL OF THE MEAL WAS NASTY AND HAD TO BE THROWN AWAY! The fish had NO TASTE and was dry like it was from the day before and left out on the counter, even though we were in the restaurant at 5pm. The fries were so hard and once again left over that they had to be thrown away as well. A huge waste of $22.00 when everything had to be throw away and we had to make dinner at home. Well today, 4 years later of saying that, we stopped. It's a small 'food truck' (but it doesn't move from this spot), and I believe the smoker in the front is where eveything is made. The smell is unmistakeable and you can take it to go or eat inside a covered area that has booths and even a pool table. They sell farm fresh eggs and other various produce, flavored honeys and bottle of bbq sauce. What we ordered.. 1/2 rack ribs - don't even know where to start with how tender, fall of the bone the ribs were, with a perfectly spicy bbq sauce 1/2 lb sliced brisket - this is their best seller and my lord, I entirely understand why 1/2 chicken - hubs loves chicken and this was like a mutant because it was gigantic and not overly smokey, but just right dipped in the rib sauce A small container of potato salad - had I known how truly delicious this was going to be, I'd definitely have gone bigger. Next time!! It was a tad sweet but balanced perfectly with relish. I have no problem traveling for quality.. this spot is about 1.5 hours away from Myrtle beach where we stay, and worth every minute of the drive. Best of all, I got to meet Mike!! He's a southern gentleman, a blast to chat with and I cant wait to go back. If you're traveling south on 95 through SC, it's a couple miles off the Bucees exit, I suggest you take the detour and give it a try!!!!
