I can't believe this was my first time to the Fork and Cork after living in Wilmington for 7 years! They had a full house on a late Saturday afternoon, so we sat at the bar where I had a delicious bloody Mary and the 'brisket biscuit' from the brunch menu.OMG, it was a perfect pairing with the cocktail. The bbq pulled beef over homemade biscuits was topped with a spectacular mustard sauce with two perfect eggs and a side of sweet potato waffle-fries sprinkled with cinnamon, cayenne, and sugar... You guessed it, I ate the whole thing! My husband had the beet salad topped with blackened chicken, which he raved about the whole time we were there. Ended up coming here for 4th of July because we were on vacation and found out they raised their prices compared to yelp menu prices. We ended up sitting outside because they didn't have seating available. Ended up waiting 34 minutes after ordering to remind the waitress to check on our food. She let us know it's going to be another 15-20 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. Which is pretty wild because all we ordered was burgers and fries. All in all we waited for our food for about an hour. Should have called beforehand to price check it because it's 100% not worth the price. Should have just cooked out on the bbq. I ordered the "Hot Mess" burger because it had decent reviews. The burger was decent size with a tiny portion of fries on the side. The service was mediocre, felt like the waitress / bartender was just damage controlling the small amount of tables in the entire establishment. Came here for lunch today and was left extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken salad as a wrap and it was amazing, however my negative experience stemmed from the lack of hospitality. Our waitress only showed up to take our orders and deliver the food. She didn't check up on us a single time or refill a single drink. Food took forever to come out even though the restaurant itself wasn't that busy. Even charging our cards took about 20 minutes to do even though, once again, it wasn't that busy. It seemed like they only had one waitress serving the entire restaurant which is probably why we never saw her. Overall I came in with high hopes and left extremely frustrated and disrespected with the way my party was treated here. This was a recommendation from a local when I was in town for the marathon. The place was pretty packed but I sat at the bar and it was great. The staff were super nice and attentive. I got the brisket mac&cheese which came with a salad. I chose the Caesar. The salad was just find. The croutons were very hard. The Mac& cheese was hot with a decent taste, but some bites were a bit watery. The brisket was good, not great. The burgers and chicken sandwich looked really good but I only had the mac&cheese. This place has a great small town vibe to it. Be patient if there are no seats. The place only holds 40 people. We lucked out and sat at the bar. We both got margaritas. Several in fact. The young lady behind the bar really knows how to make them. My wife got the special chicken sandwich they had. I got the spicy chicken sandwiches. Neither of us could finish our sandwich. They were both were excellent. I want to return and try the beef wellington dish that folks rave about. Sorry, no pictures on this review. I have been to this restaurant many times, especially when it was being run by James Smith. I ordered a Reuben today. The corned beef was hard and tough. It was inedible. Came here for dinner around 5:30 on a Sunday. We had to wait about 15 minute but the process was easy and quick. They took our name and texted us when our table was ready and we were able to see which number we were in line. The inside is quaint with a couple tables and bar seating with some tables outside as well. The menu has a bunch of appetizers, salads, burgers and different sandwiches. I ordered the lamb burger and I loved it. Fries were a little greasy and only came with a small side of ketchup. But the burger was really good. Loved the feta and the flavors were great. My wife, 2 teenage sons, and I enjoyed lunch here after a historical walking tour of Wilmington, NC in late March 2024. Lots of pluses. First, the fried chicken on salad (with avocado slices) was delightful! You can't go wrong with the fried chicken dishes here. Second, the portions are generous if you're especially hungry. Third, this place has a wide selection of local craft beers - and gives you an opportunity to try various IPAs. There were only 2 minuses. First, it felt rather crowded inside the small pub-like restaurant so we decided to sit at an outdoor table. This is not a place if you're feeling claustrophobic. Second, eating outside meant that our server came out later than expected (service felt rather slow). Not a big deal, but I would not eat here if you're in a rush during peak lunch hours. Went there on 12/27/2025. Ordered the all day breakfast, I ordered my eggs over easy and they were overly cooked over medium, the home fried potatoes were way over salted and the toast had no butter. We also ordered the california club sandwich, was very dry with hardly any meat on it. The server was pretty nice and good at her job. This place does not deserve the multiple star rating it had.
