As my daughter says, "It was just mid." Service was great. So were the Honey Drizzled Croissants. The Potato skins were good. My lightly breaded shrimp - not so good. Wanted to take pics of menu as there weren't any when we looked here on Yelp.

This is my family's favorite restaurant in Wilmington! We visit very frequently. We love the shrimp and grits, chicken tenders, and the Mahi sandwich was great! We will be back!

Had lunch with some friends. We were told it would be fifteen minutes but in less than two minutes we were seated. Our waitress, Clarissa was friendly and attentive. I had the chicken salad croissant. $10.99 This is my regular dish I always get. It came with a side and I picked the coleslaw. My sandwich was tasty but I was disappointed in the coleslaw. it was very wet and vinegary. My friends had the chicken salad and the Texas burger with bread. Both enjoyed their meals. We like Rucker Johns and will be back. 6/24/22

Three of us had lunch recently. It was our first visit. We were out shopping and came upon the place, so we decided to try it out. It's very large inside and it looked dated. We had excellent service by our young waitress. I'm sorry that I don't recall her name. I ordered the Little Italian Flatbread, which had roasted red peppers, Italian sausage, mozzarella and a marinara sauce. For a flatbread, it was quite tasty. It could have used more sausage, as the pieces were pretty small. The other two items that were ordered were the Texas burger, no bun and fully loaded with all sorts of goodies; and the seared tuna salad with a raspberry dressing. My friends were very happy with their food. The tuna looked great! Overall, we were happy with our food.

    Shaved RJ's Ribeye Sandwich

Our first trip to RJ's, overall not a great experience, but the food was good. Our server was either having a bad day or overwhelmed... "Samm" was not only not pleasant, but not great at serving. We were part of a large party, but another server handled the second table and did a great job with them! Our server however never gave us silverware, barely checked on us (we had to flag her down multiple times), and just all around wasn't nice. Now I understand we all have off days, but even without the pleasantries, she could've handle our table much better. On to the food, the sirloin sandwich was good perfectly and the mahi sandwich was excellent... the fries were phenomenal. Will be back again, but hopefully we have a different server.

    Dining area.

Always good food and service. Love the potato skins, burgers and the calamari. Eat there often because it is consistently good.

Depending if your dine in or carry out! Most restaurants give small portions for carry out- vs- eat in but still charge $$$ amounts.

The Food We went straight for what matters. * Chilean Sea Bass -- cooked right, flaky, moist, and seasoned without trying to show off. That's how it's supposed to be done. No nonsense, just good fish handled properly. * Fish Bites (house specialty) -- lightly battered, crispy without being greasy, and paired with both Thai chili and tartar sauces. That combo works. You don't fix what isn't broken, and thankfully they didn't. * Ponzu Tuna Tacos -- these were the standout. Fresh, flavorful, balanced. The ponzu brings just enough bite without overpowering the tuna. If you're going there and skip these, that's on you. Sides held their own--fresh vegetables with a good sauté, and coleslaw that didn't taste like it came out of a tub somewhere in the back. Service Our server, Kali (K-A-L-I), did things the old-school way--attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. That's getting rare these days, and it's worth mentioning. Value Two people, solid seafood, no corners cut: $67.15 total. In today's world? That's not just fair--that's impressive. Final Take New ownership can sometimes mean a place loses its identity. That didn't happen here. Fish Bites still delivers what made it a favorite--fresh seafood, straightforward preparation, and consistency. If anything, they've tightened things up just enough to notice

But not the best view with the gas station. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We started with the Oyster Bombs, which were cheesy and delicious. I also got the clam chowder which was hearty and very satisfying. For my main meal, I had the stuffed flounder. It was rich and packed with flavor. I picked the mixed veggies and garlic mashed potatoes as my sides. I ended up taking half home because I was so full! Plus, we got a few slices of cake to share at the office in the afternoon. Everyone enjoyed our meal. I'll definitely be back.

No through traffic of wait staff or customers. We ordered drinks and started off with small house salads. Salads are a good portion for smalls. However, we were just barely finishing salads, bread had just come out, then entrees. I guess we thought putting in orders together, food wouldn't come out so fast. Server took our salad plates and handed us our entrees. We both ordered shrimp scampi. So delicious but I took half to go. When food comes out too fast, I just can't finish. I will think to wait on ordering entrees. I really don't like food coming out one after the other. I understand the kitchen makes the food as it comes in, but the timing could have been better. Food and service is always good here. Wouldn't mind waiting a few extra minutes for meals so we don't feel rushed out.

The shop itself is tiny with only a few tables, and because the food quality is so good, it's definitely a popular place. You may have to wait a bit, so maybe not the best choice if you're in a big hurry. The couple running the shop were incredibly sweet and made the experience even better. I had the Portland Lobster Roll and loved it. Next time, though, I definitely want to try the Stonington Roll -- lobster warmed in butter. My daughter ordered it and it looked absolutely amazing. We had a nice chat with him and he talked a little about the lobster rolls and the sizes. The restaurant is tiny with a few booths to sit at, and it is decorated with lots of great decor, like a lobster trap, lighthouse art, charts, etc. Brings you right to coastal Maine. After living in the northeast my whole life, we frequently vacationed in Maine. We moved to NC several years ago, and haven't been back there yet. How do we get some good lobster rolls? We found Maine Lobster Roll Company in Wilmington. This place is 100% the real deal. So, we tried two sizes of lobster rolls. Each have same bun, but different amount of lobster on them. I got a half portion and my hubs got a whole portion. It is a very good amount of lobster on them. I don't think I could have finished a whole portion. Looked massive to me. But, the preparation is fantastic. I had the Mainah and hubs had the Rockland. It came with a side of Cole slaw. The Mainah is cold lobster with just a light coating of mayo. The Rockland has the celery and onion with the same light coating of mayo. He had a small cup of clam chowder as well. Just amazing. One other person was with us and tried the non lobster grilled cheese. They have Maine made Whoopie pies in a refrigerator that you can choose different flavors. We picked out 2 to share later. Prices are very good and fair considering you are getting Maine lobster. If you are in the area and enjoy a real lobster roll from a Mainer, stop in and try them. You will not be disappointed.
