I'm a regular at the Sawmill Cafe. I've had really amazing breakfast experiences here and the few times I've come for lunch, I've been unenthused. They have a wide selection of affordable and delicious breakfast options. I always get two eggs, home fries, and a biscuit- and it is under five dollars. Service is fast. I'm writing this review in Sawmill and I wouldn't be shocked if my meal came before I was done. It is seat yourself and a casual ambiance. I've also never had an issue with parking. The one detractor is that the few times I got lunch here, I didn't really like the food. The fried oysters weren't good. If you stick to breakfast and stay away the fried seafood, you should be good. My food just came, so I'm going to eat now.

My first time for breakfast here, I've been for lunch before. It was crowded when we arrived , but opted for seats at the counter . We were immediately given menus and our beverage order was taken. The beverages and our silverware packets arrived speedily, I ordered ice water and coffee. The coffee was pleasantly hot and had great flavor. A single egg , scrambled dry with potatoes and a biscuit was ordered. As we waited for our meals to arrive we could watch either tv in front of us. The staff was bustling all around , they are always busy at this location, and great teamwork between the staff. My meal arrived soon after and it was hot. The egg perfectly scrambled dry , the potatoes and small pieces of onion, not over bearing , had great flavor and they were plentiful. The biscuit was hot, fluffy and had good taste. I did find it too buttery for my taste , but good. A great breakfast at a good price. I would definitely be back for breakfast or lunch.

Busy, popular place in Wilmington near the airport. The breakfast burrito was full of sausage, peppers and cheese and came with a side of salsa and sour cream. It was tasty, but nothing that special. The mimosa was good, and the pancakes were large and fluffy and good! It's a good place for a casual and dependable breakfast with good service.

Good basic country cooking. What does set them apart from other restaurants is "the staff." They are very friendly, attentive and makes you feel like family.

I called and o place an order and no one ever came back to the line! I am sitting in the parking lot of the business in hold... walked in placed the order, and made it know that I'd been holding for 7 minutes now... the young lady was real nonchalant about having a paying customer on the line... at this point the call is still connected and no one has come back to the line.. which is ridiculous! I'll never come back. Believe that

There is plenty of parking around, and the neighborhood is lovely. We arrived right when lunch hour started so the restaurant was pretty empty. We were immediately seated and our waiter, Luke, was great with bringing drinks and menus asap. I decided to try the summer salad and add shrimp and an order of the kalbi wings. The wings were absolutely delicious and enough to share. My friend ordered the deviled eggs app and loved it too. The summer salad was very generous, but the reason my review is 4 stars and not 5 is because it was $10 for 6 shrimp! Regular sized shrimp. The salad was $15 which is totally fine, but $10 more for 6 shrimp is ridiculous. I would go back and just not add the shrimp. There is a really cute outdoor area as well. It was too hot to sit there at lunch time, but I imagine for dinner it would be lovely so I will go back another time to experience that.

The Saturday special was wings & a $5 selected pint! The pint special was a Oktoberfest beer which was fun because usually it's something that isn't really worth the $5 at most places. I got the BYO burger, my husband got the Betsy Ross & my daughter got the kids cheeseburger. Get the Molly's sauce with the fries- it has such great flavor! We all enjoyed our food and had 3 empty plates. Service was fast & all the staff we encountered was very nice. The outdoor patio with tables is always an added bonus for seating options!

Unfortunately, we were by the door, and it was a little chilly with people coming in and out, but I totally understand that they have to pack in tables due to being so busy. Service was friendly and quick, and they were very patient with the fact that a member of our party was late arriving. I went with the Oh Molly, which included 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, grits & a biscuit with mollasses butter. They let me sub in double bacon since I don't eat sausage. The main draw for that dish for me was the molasses butter. The molasses flavor wasn't as strong as I was hoping, but it was still really tasty. The biscuit was soft and perfect, I liked the grits, the eggs were cooked right. There was room for improvement on the hashbrowns. For such a busy spot, the gender-segregated single stall restrooms did have a bit of a wait. So, just keep that in mind. Also, when they are busy, their parking lot does fill up. We struggled a bit with parking. I'd definitely stop in again!

It's sort of Italian and sort of steak and sort of a little bit of everything. Really clean, strait forward , reasonable menu, nice ambience. It feels kind of high end but the pricing is definitely mid range. I selected the tomato basil soup as my appetizer. It came with a nice toasted crustini. It was a really good soup. It tasted fresh. It had a lot of body to it like, maybe they did the tomatoes here in the house from fresh. It was definitely tomato. The basil was kind in the background, but it was a true red sauce. It was almost tomato paste or tomato sauce flavor. I would've not complained if they given it to me over a bit of penne.. It had a really nice flavor on it not too sweet not too acidic really a very good soup. It came out in a footed coffee cup so you're getting about one cup of soup. The main course was the broiled seafood platter. It was anchored by a large piece of mahi-mahi, that was amazingly well prepared, firm and tasty. To the side of that was a wonderful crabcake, one of the best I've had anywhere and definitely the best in the Carolinas. It did not have too much breading and it had a wonderful texture with lots of good crab flavor. Drizzled across all of this were scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked if you asked me. The scallops were sweet and perfect and everything you would want them to be. The side that comes with this is their crab fries which essentially our beer battered french fries dusted with old bay seasoning. If you've ever had the crab fries at the Philadelphia, ballpark, this is the way they do it. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cello mascarpone cake. It comes drizzled with raspberry sauce. I had visions of lemon curd, and what I got was really good and really lemonade and good cake. But it's not a very big slice. I know about the weight staff. I don't know if they're all good, but mine was exceptional and lovely to talk with. The place was very busy. It had a nice vibe to it, it could've been in South Beach or Miami or Los Angeles, not that it was over over the top just that it was very clean and nice and well done. This is a professional restaurant not some amateur attempt. I recommend it.
