    Kids All American breakfast
    Mike P.

I used to recommend Brunches as a solid breakfast spot, but after my last visit, that's changed. My girlfriend and I went on Labor Day around 10:20, were seated quickly, and ordered Shrimp & Grits, the By the Sea Omelet, and a kids' meal to go. The food was hit or miss -- Shrimp & Grits were tasty but small, and the By the Sea Omelet had only a few shrimp and a dab of crab, with way too much bacon. Service was slow throughout, and even though we ordered before the table next to us, their food arrived first. When it came to the to-go meal, things really went downhill. We were told it would be "right out," but 40 minutes later we were still waiting. Our waitress apologized and explained her tablet had gone offline, which caused the order to be missed. That part was understandable, but even after acknowledging it, it took another 40 minutes to get a simple kids' meal. What made it worse was the manager's response -- no apology, no ownership, just a dismissive "we took $7 off" as if that fixed the problem. For a kids' meal to take nearly an hour and for management to not care was incredibly frustrating. The waitress at least tried, but the manager's lack of concern left a bad impression. I won't be recommending Brunches anymore. If you want a better breakfast, I'd suggest Blueberry Grill instead.

For the amount of people packing the restaurant and the wait times for seating, I expected to be wowed--and I wasn't. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure it's worth returning to and waiting 30-45 minutes for brunch. If you love alcohol, this place has an extensive and creative menu for brunch inspired drinks. Over all the place was too loud for my liking and definitely caters to the younger crowd.

Balsamic glaze and toast. Is the avo in the room with us?

I really hate to leave a bad review, BUT I am a long time loyal customer and I was really disappointed today. I went to this location in Mayfaire. First of all the water tasted like chlorox. It was undrinkable. Secondly, their stable menu items have been altered for the worst. Their avocado toast used be served with delivered delicious lemon greens. Now they don't have them at all. The toast had the crust cut off which I thought was just odd, and used to have avo smear with slices of avocado and a sunny side up egg on top. Now, it's only a smear of guacamole, no actual avo, drenched in balsamic glaze which was super overpowering, feta, grape tomatoes and pickled onion. It just wasn't good. Way too much going on. And the egg was 3$ too add! The Carolina sunrise was still good but also altered a bit and just not what it used to be. There used to be way more kick and hot honey. This avo toast ruined my day lol. Unfortunately I won't be back. Hopefully the BLT is still good..

Stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning while in town. We just missed the early bird special of 20% off Monday through Friday. But, no matter. Food was still great and still worth it even missing the discount. It was busy and very lively here in the Mayfaire center location. It was across the street from my hotel, so very convenient. We enjoyed a build your own omelette and the avocado toast. The portions are very large here. I almost couldn't finish my avocado toast, but it was so yummy, I certainly did! It is on a croissant so it is extra filling, plus, it is slathered with guacamole then the eggs and more sliced avocado on the side. The arugula on top is a nice touch! Husband wanted mushrooms in his omelette but was informed they didn't have them. That's something to maybe add to the menu? Pretty common omelette ingredient, I think. Anyway, he was able to get spinach and cheese, so he said it was very tasty. Prices are great here. You get a good amount of food for the money. Very nice staff as well. Very friendly people. Sorry, no photos of our plates this time. But I will remember to get a photo of that Avocado Toast next time! So good!!

The food was delish even after 3 years of not being here the only thing I would say have change was the portion size no biggie. The food was cooked to perfection with little room for improvement once again Brunches you've out did yourselves. The service was great as well it was a slow morning but they were getting food and drinks out pretty fast.

Great food and excellent service!!! The seafood omelette was awesome! Try the seafood burrito, it's full of yummy goodness and plenty of protein . The biscuit and gravy is filling and kudos to you if you can finish it all. Service is superb !

Ok I gave it one last shot! Came and had the steak habachi bowl. Wasn't much flavor had to add pink sauce and soy sauce to it. The rice had a really weird taste like moth balls. The iced tea was good and my waitress was nice and attentive. Sorry I won't be back though.

I've been here twice and each time was great, the servers are friendly and attentive, and the food was really good! Definitely recommend mimosas, and sitting outside if the weather is nice!

The sweet potato wedges were amazing the cinnamon is the way to go! I was kind of disappointed with the sizing I ordered a large to split between the two of us and it wasn't enough. The 12 oz shake was amazing the only thing with that was it took forever. I was done with my food by the time the shake was done. It did look like they only have one shake machine so that could be why it took so long but the fact the I was done with my food before even seeing the shake was a bit crazy. The price of it all was a bit steep in the 40 some dollar range, but it was great. Located at the end of a strip mall, with plenty of parking. Come down and check this place out for yourself. The staff were awsome, kind, and polite with energetic spirits, the restaraunt was clean, and most importantly....so was the bathroom.

We ended up sitting outside because they didn't have seating available. Ended up waiting 34 minutes after ordering to remind the waitress to check on our food. She let us know it's going to be another 15-20 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. Which is pretty wild because all we ordered was burgers and fries. All in all we waited for our food for about an hour. Should have called beforehand to price check it because it's 100% not worth the price. Should have just cooked out on the bbq. I ordered the "Hot Mess" burger because it had decent reviews. The burger was decent size with a tiny portion of fries on the side. The service was mediocre, felt like the waitress / bartender was just damage controlling the small amount of tables in the entire establishment. On top of it all the ice tea was too sweet, we exchanged it for a water and still got charged. Overall, would not recommend, it was an absolute waist of money and time.

As a New Yorker, I was excited to see it on the menu. And let me say this first... the sandwich was delicious. I cleaned that thing up and didn't leave a single crumb behind. The flavor was on point. Here's the only issue: it wasn't really a chopped cheese. Instead of using chopped ground beef like you'd find at a New York bodega, it was made with sliced steak. I asked the owner about it, and he explained that they used to make it the traditional way, but they switched because the ground beef would dry out by the time customers got it home or had it delivered. Using steak keeps it much juicier. I told him, "Then it's not really a chopped cheese anymore... it's basically a Philly cheesesteak." He laughed and said, "No, our Philly cheesesteak uses different meat." That caught my attention, so I said, "Hold up... you have an actual Philly cheesesteak too?" He said yes. So naturally, I came back the next day to try it. After trying both, I can honestly say I liked the "chopped cheese" much more. The Philly cheesesteak was made with Steak-umm-style beef, and unfortunately it was a little dry. It also could've used a lot more cheese (or cheese sauce) to bring everything together. I didn't complain because everyone has their own way of making things, and I respect that. But here's my opinion: if they simply renamed that "chopped cheese" sandwich to their Philly cheesesteak, it would be one of the best cheesesteaks around. In fact--and this is just my opinion--I think it would give J. Michael's Philly Deli some serious competition. At the end of the day, that's just one New Yorker's opinion. Go try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
