My husband and I ate here on 14 December 2024. We arrived just before 11am and only had about a 6-7 minute wait. The place was packed. I've eaten here before (breakfast), which has been good. This time I decided to have their soup of the day (chicken noodle soup) along with the Caesar salad (dressing on the side). I was so disappoint with the soup. I expected it to be a fresh-made soup, but it was Campbell's chicken noodle soup with its small square pieces of chicken, the flat noodles, and overcooked celery and carrots. My husband concurred when he had a taste. I expected a fresh-made soup. I don't think I could ever order a soup there again. The salad was your average Caesar. The dressing very taste and thick in texture. My husband ordered the club sandwich. He said it was very good, ate only 1/4 of the sandwich and brought the rest home for later. The amount of deli was a very good amount. The tater tots were nice and crispy; not greasy at all. Looking at the other dishes that came out to other diners, the breakfast foods looked very good. My dog sitter said this place had the best eggs benny, so we came this morning before voting. It was already busy at 7:15. We were seated and brought coffee pretty quickly. Two of us got eggs benny and the other a mushroom cheese omelette. I wasn't impressed at all. The hollandaise sauce was thin and runny. It also had too much lemon taste. Service got really slow and my friend didn't have a fork so she had to use a spoon to eat half of hers, before we could even get the waitress to come over. Had a fantastic brunch here on Sunday! The wait was only 15 minutes, which was super reasonable for a Sunday brunch. This place is open concept and super inviting where you can see the cooks hustling around a neat atmosphere. I got the mimosa and a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheddar, and sausage on white bread--simple but delicious. Everyone's plate around me looked amazing, especially the massive pancakes and breakfast bowl! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The weight staff was super nice and the sweet tea was good. They make a pretty tasty biscuit. I ordered the western omelette and the green peppers, red peppers, and onion were all way overcooked. Onion was completely caramelized like you would for a fajita. Unfortunately, the eggs were on the heat too long, I've never had a dry omelette before, but I certainly experienced it here. Maybe they are having an off day I will have to try it one more time. I did eat most of the omelette as I was hungry and just did not want to complain. My family of 4 stood in the back of the restaurant for over 50 min, waiting for a table. We were told 20-30 min and the problem is- we literally watched as people drove up, walked in, got a beeper and were seated before us like we weren't standing there- parties of 4 or less. The food looks delicious, the wait staff seemed incredibly friendly from what we saw while standing there. but the hostess was once rude when we walked in- she isn't fit to pass out carts at Walmart. What to do: on a busy summer day...walk in, put your name on waiting list and let them know if you want to sit inside or out, and receive a hand pager from host. Go out to your car in the AC and wait anywhere from 10-15 min usually. When pager goes off the host will seat you. If it's a slower time of day you will get seated immediately usually. Staff: The staff have always been on point for me. Got a problem with your order? Let them know and they servers will set the guys in the kitchen straight about it. They will fix it if you don't like something. The servers know their regulars and are quick to chat and joke with them , but always aware of other customers. Food: I have my go to order that doesn't change up, but the other things I have tried have been always good. Sometimes my eggs might be a little off, but again, let them know and it will be corrected. I once had some pancakes that were just tiny and burnt and the server said omg what were they thinking and got me new plate of pancakes. Easy fix. Leaving: Server will bring you a pay slip to pay at table. Busser will clean up your table. read more

Wonderful breakfast this morning at Farmhouse as I started my exploration of the Wilmington beaches. I walked in at 8:00 on the dot and my omelet and bacon was set in front of me at 8:07. That's speedy service! My waiter took good care of me, refilling coffee and bringing condiments. He was wearing his mask the entire time, though the hostess took hers off a number of times. Fortunately, she wasn't near my table. The omelet was nicely loaded with cheese and ham. All nicely grilled and melty. Inexpensive, fast, delicious. That's five stars from me! We always enjoy eating breakfast here when we're in town. Very reasonably priced and large portions. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is small but very clean. I wasn't a huge fan of the Ruben sandwich. I put all the meat on half of my sandwich and it was perfect. I feel like it needs more meat for bread that thick. Our server was quick and very personable. we didn't want to get into the thicket of the menu as since it was your first time there, I wanted to see if they could cover the basics.....eggs, bacon, potatoes, coffee.....the basics. I had to travel to Leland for an appointment, and was wanting to try a new place for lunch. As this was my first trip to this town I didn't know where to go. I stumbled upon this gem of a place. First it was so cute in their decorations, and ombience. Just kinda felt like you where walking into grandmas kitchen. The tantilizing aromas from the kitchen where becoming me to try everything. I settled on a salad. I was the freshest tastiest salad that I've had on a long time. I even sat outside in their patio seating to enjoy the sunshine and food. It's small, so if you go at peak times be prepared to wait for a table. On a Sunday morning, ours was about twenty minutes. Happy to report their breakfast bowls are gluten free. They start with grits and eggs, and then you decide whether to add cheese and meat, and how you want your eggs prepared. I opted for cheddar cheese grits, eggs sunny side up, with a sausage patty. The sausage patty has a nice texture and is mildly spicy. The eggs were expertly cooked and the grits were tasty. (Not quite as good as Sonja's Grill down the road in Supply, but close.) My husband vouches for the blueberry pancakes, said they were quite delicious. Instead of coffee, I ordered hot tea with my meal, and our server brought a small bowl for my used tea bag and sugar packet. Nice touch. read more

This is a new place, so first time here. So, what does someone who doesn't eat eggs order?! They were flexible enough to allow me to substitute the veggie omelette vegetables for an egg on their avocado toast. My companion enjoyed his Western omelette. Breakfast potatoes were fresh & good. I would have given them another star if the coffee was good... but it lacked flavor; just colored hot water. I have dined there quite a few times, most times for brunch. They have the very best breakfast menu anywhere along with a great variety to choose for lunch. Service is excellent, delicious coffee and whatever you prefer ie water, tea, juice available. The ambiance is relaxing, friendly and comfortable and the servers are right-on as far as taking care of customers. My only complaint is that they close around 3 pm. read more

I got my fill of southern breakfast classics when we chose this place during a recent trip to NC. We'd never been to NC before and loved the southern charm we experienced in most places. I had a breakfast sandwich on a southern biscuit and a small bowl of grits and coffee. The food was delicious, our server was fast and efficient and the ambiance was very nice. I was shocked to learn how many out-of-towners mistreat food service staff in NC, particularly the Wilmington area. This was evidenced by a posted sign on the front door giving a gentle but firm reminder to treat their staff with respect or they were welcome to leave. I love that they put the sign up but also sad they had to do it. Dining out is a privilege, not a right. And treating the people who make and handle your food poorly is very bad form. Hats off to the owners of Farmhouse Kitchen for taking a stand against bratty patrons. read more

Good little place for breakfast and lunch. We had the Meat lovers breakfast bowl and substituted the tots for grits and a BLT with fries. They made you wait to be seated even though there were plenty of empty tables. Our server Trey was super friendly and checked back to make sure everything was good and that our drinks were refilled. The food came out super fast and was hot. The fries were a little on the greasy side, but other than that; no complaints. The portions were giant, so you may need a to go box. They had outdoor seating as well for when the weather warms up a little. Definitely worth a try if you are in Leland and looking for a good place to grab a bite to eat.
