When we entered, we weren't greeted, so we just sat on our own in one of the booths. But shortly after we were seated, our waitress came over with the menus. The menu had some business card sheet protectors holding the specials of the day. I ordered the short stack (2 slices) French toast with country sausage and a pecan cinnamon roll. My partner ordered the egg (2 eggs) special with hashbrowns, French toast, and a side order of strawberries. Fruit options were either frozen strawberries with sugar added, canned blueberries or bananas. I appreciated the waitress asking if we wanted sugar and cinnamon on our French toast. For the next time, I will ask for that to be on the side since they went a little heavier on the cinnamon then I would've preferred. French toast was good, cooked well. It was about a half inch thick sliced bread. Country sausage was great, loved that it was crispy on the ends. The pecan cinnamon roll was very good, but not your typical cinnamon roll. It's like a crumbly biscuit that needs to be eaten with a fork or spoon. It had tons of pecans throughout and was very sugary. Mm mm! My partner enjoyed his breakfast, it was very filling for him, so he was unable to finish it. The potatoes were sliced thin, soft, and had crispy pieces. I liked that it was plain so you can add whatever seasonings you like. The staff was great in refilling our coffee mugs full with hot coffee. Coffee was good. After we were done eating, we took our notepad ticket they left on our table to the cashier at the front to pay our bill. All in all, great diner food. read more

Finally came in early enough for no line. Anytime I've driven passed there's always a line but the early bird gets the worm...waffle! It's a small, hometown ma and pa restaurant. Looked like a lot of regulars and now I know why there's a line. It's just good, simple diner food. And the staff were super friendly and filled my coffee nonstop. I got the gyro omelette and my husband got the biscuit and gravy special. Both had a lot of food. I'm not eating carbs right now but I definitely want to come back for their bacon waffles....bacon inside, whoa!! And all there lunch options to warm the soul... it's a southern menu! read more

My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was so tender and juicy. The waffle was a hefty size and went so well with the chicken. We ordered a short stack after and it was delicious too. It's a busy place and the wait can seem like it's taking forever but it really delivers food worth waiting for. Not to mention the staff was really nice! My husband has been traveling through Wilmington for years now, but neither of us has stopped at Jimbo's before. Met an old navy buddy (Mike) and we had breakfast, I had Eggs over easy, hash browns, white toast (does not offer English Muffins) and Sausage patties. Mike had Pancakes (3), Ham Steak, Eggs Sunny side, potatoes and biscuit. The service was good, coffee was decent and food was hot and good, very nice and clean but... The staff is great and the breakfast was great. My son got a sandwhich that he enjoyed. I got the chicken and gravy which came with eggs and grits. Chicken was crispy and the gravy was a great compliment to it. My wife got the French toast and said it was great. We also got a cinnamon bun for the table and it was massive, fluffy and hot! I did not like the restaurant overall. I had the Greek chicken with Greek potatoes and both were very dry. The fruit salad was from a can with some fresh apple slices and banana slices thrown on top. The place was crowded and it is a good price for people on a budget. Because I didn't like it doesn't mean it's not good as it was crowded. It is just opnion. SUCH A GOOD BREAKFAST STOP! We came here after a night out in Wilmington and it was JUST WHAT WE NEEDED. Staff was super friendly - we were seated right away even though it was very busy! Our waitress, Shay, took our orders right away and our food got was here in 5 minutes! She was very attentive and checked on us frequently even with how busy she was! My husband got coffee, a farmers omelet, potatoes, and a half order of busicuts and gravy! I got the country fried steak and gravy, eggs, biscuit , and potatoes.
