    Duck dish

Made a reservation for a Saturday evening with a girlfriend at 6pm. Got seated immediately and our waitress was very nice. The duck appetizer was just ok. A little dry and almost tasted like BBQ instead of duck. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender. Sauce needed a little bit of salt. Otherwise it was delicious. My friend loved her duck dish. The arugula with the vinaigrette made it. The pumpkin cheesecake matched the description. Very creamy but not overly sweet. The vibes there are great. It can get a little loud at times but nothing crazy. Would definitely come back for the next seasonal menu!

Ribeyes rule the world, though Covey has an excellent filet as well

We absolutely love Covey! It's our go-to date night spot. The food is great and so are the cocktails (coming from a picky drinker) We always get the greatest waiters too!

Delicious hidden gem! We drove across town to try Covey and I was not disappointed. The services was outstanding, great atmosphere, diverse wine selections, fresh food. We got oysters rock-a-fella, fried chicken, and wagyu steak, and espresso martini for dessert

Extremely overpriced for the quality of food that you get. I got the lobster entree. The lobster, shrimp, and mussels tasted and felt like I could get them at my local trashy seafood spot. Chewy, not very flavorful, and also not hot. The temperature was the most off-putting part. The pasta also stuck together as if it had been sitting in the plate for a while. My girlfriend got the filet and it was very average - not worth being the most expensive menu item. That said, or waitress was nice and provided good service.

Everything was wonderful. Our reservations were honored immediately, and we were seated in a private room with their wine inventory. The food was remarkable and the service spectacular! We tried the shrimp and grits, black and shrimp over Caesar, filet mignon and the Frutti Di Mari special. All fabulous! The desserts were awesome, we had the doughnut which was filled with chocolate cream and then orange glaze. We also had the peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake, which was fantastic!

My wife and I dined at COVEY restaurant in Wilmington NC on Friday night. Parking was available in their good size lot and extra parking on adjacent street. There restaurant sits in a quaint, somewhat wooded area with outdoor seating available. We dined inside this lovely COVEY. There was a good crowd but we had reservations and were seated quickly. The restaurant is "upscale" nice. The ambiance is welcoming. There are plenty tables, booths, private areas and a gorgeous bar. I did use the men's room which was immaculate! We were served with drinks almost immediately. Lauren was our server. She was truly "on point" with representing COVEY in a warm and welcoming manner. We would surely ask for her service again! The food..."Superb" ! My wife had the ribeye steak, cooked perfectly as requested and juicy and tender. I had a special request of the catch of the day, tilefish, on top of a crab cake. It was delicious! The sauce that adorned the plate was exquisite. I wish it had been draped atop the food. My mouth waters just thinking about the other night there. Also, I requested a semi-dry wine with a hint of sweetness. The manager, Brandon, brought me a wine to try. It was as if he read my mind. The wine was perfect for my taste. The prices were fair for the quality and service provided. They also have specials during the week. All in all, we plan to return soon. We highly recommend giving them a try. ~SW

Came here for a birthday/engagement combo celebration. The staff put us in our own private room it was very nice. Everything we tried was spectacular. Drinks and food. My cosmopolitan martini was delicious. I got the short rib tagliatelle (a special), shrimp and grits, lobster di la frutti and the Wagyu steak. 10/10 just be prepared to spend some $$

KUDOS to Madison for providing supreme quality customer service ! Our WWP Adaptive Sports Clinic appreciated everything! I ordered Oysters Rockefeller, Red Snapper with Ratouille, the Bundt Cake for dessert ! Thank God for Covey! Even the bathrooms are clean! The ambiance was quiet and quite mellow! I highly recommend all to come and visit to support this local business! The pics say it all! They even have a military discount!

The restaurant is beautiful!! We were seated in a separate room which was very nice. We ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner. Everything was good. I was told the pork chop was the best. I had the seafood and it could have used a bit more seasoning but was still good and filling. The service was excellent. We had a very good time. Will definitely be back.

What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.

This was the 3rd time we've been here. The first two times we did not make it to the table because…read moreof the service. They generally do not care about the customer at all. The star of the show is definitely the food. The chef is super proud of his food, and he should be. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 on food instead of a 5 is because there was no iced tea (in the summer in the carolinas - not really forgivable) the water was nasty and the biscuits on my Benedict were towards the burnt side on the bottom. Honestly, everything otherwise was amazing. What was really great: The restaurant itself is AMAZING! It's like being transported to a Parisian cafe. I love that when you walk in, you immediately see the fully in view kitchen. I'm assuming a chef owns the restaurant and designed the layout. The patio is quaint and delightful and surprisingly private for a downtown sidewalk restaurant. The eggs on my Eggs Benedict could not have been more perfect. I'm not a fried potato person; however, the pan fried potatoes here are mostly whole and they are out of this world. They were exceedingly crispy on the outside and completely soft on the inside. My son ordered the dutch baby. It was delicious. The accompanied fruit was perfect and truly ripe. I feel like they would have to toss a lot of fruit to get the ones that were truly that perfect. What did not work: The water - it was about 85 degrees out and humid. There is nothing here refreshing. Water is served European style meaning no ice and out of the tap. Warm tap water on a hot day in South Carolina is just nasty. It's ironic that while Europeans visiting the US for the World Cup are posting social media reels raving about ice in drinks in the United States, meanwhile The Dram Yard is insisting on pulling all of the worst parts of eating out in Europe into their restaurant. I truly dislike restaurants that serve canned and bottled beverages. It screams, "nickel and dime". If you bought your cans of soda at Costco and charged $4.00 for a can, I'd have to drink 9 cans before you're losing money. There is literally no reason to limit beverages other than driving higher profits. I hate price gouging. At the very least get a fountain and serve iced tea. SERVICE - the service staff simply makes you feel like they're doing you a favor by being open. Don't expect anything after that. When we arrived, the restaurant was at about 25% capacity with 2 food servers, who also double as the hostess. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated (yes...even at 25% capacity), service truly went downhill from there. It wasn't that the staff was rude. They were just not present and extremely slow. It honestly seemed like they were doing everything they could to not be seen. We needed salt, a refill of the water carafe and our check. That was it. The staff would come to our part of the dining room but then not even glance around or come by to see if we needed anything. I'm giving them a 2 because they were exceedingly slow and not present. When we did chase them down, I felt rude asking for help. The chef delivered our food. He was very proud and should be. However, here's the rub. The chef needs to learn that being in the restaurant business is not only about creating great food. It also requires front of house service and an overall dining experience that people are happy with. Right now, I'm walking away feeling: 1. great food and great atmosphere 2. terrible service 3. nickle and dimed me on drinks 4. doesn't have the sense to serve iced tea in the Caronlinas So - as much as I loved the food - there are too many restaurants in Wilmington that are good enough to overcome 2, 3 and 4 above. The Dram could be fixed so easily: 1. hire servers who want to be there and smile a little 2. put ice in your water 3. serve iced tea - at least in the summer months 4. get a soda fountain - it's 2026 Unfortunately, we won't be back because there are simply other options that, at the very least, hit 1, 2 and 3 with good food.

It's sort of Italian and sort of steak and sort of a little bit of everything. Really clean, strait forward , reasonable menu, nice ambience. It feels kind of high end but the pricing is definitely mid range. I selected the tomato basil soup as my appetizer. It came with a nice toasted crustini. It was a really good soup. It tasted fresh. It had a lot of body to it like, maybe they did the tomatoes here in the house from fresh. It was definitely tomato. The basil was kind in the background, but it was a true red sauce. It was almost tomato paste or tomato sauce flavor. I would've not complained if they given it to me over a bit of penne.. It had a really nice flavor on it not too sweet not too acidic really a very good soup. It came out in a footed coffee cup so you're getting about one cup of soup. The main course was the broiled seafood platter. It was anchored by a large piece of mahi-mahi, that was amazingly well prepared, firm and tasty. To the side of that was a wonderful crabcake, one of the best I've had anywhere and definitely the best in the Carolinas. It did not have too much breading and it had a wonderful texture with lots of good crab flavor. Drizzled across all of this were scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked if you asked me. The scallops were sweet and perfect and everything you would want them to be. The side that comes with this is their crab fries which essentially our beer battered french fries dusted with old bay seasoning. If you've ever had the crab fries at the Philadelphia, ballpark, this is the way they do it. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cello mascarpone cake. It comes drizzled with raspberry sauce. I had visions of lemon curd, and what I got was really good and really lemonade and good cake. But it's not a very big slice. I know about the weight staff. I don't know if they're all good, but mine was exceptional and lovely to talk with. The place was very busy. It had a nice vibe to it, it could've been in South Beach or Miami or Los Angeles, not that it was over over the top just that it was very clean and nice and well done. This is a professional restaurant not some amateur attempt. I recommend it.

All in all we waited for our food for about an hour. Should have called beforehand to price check it because it's 100% not worth the price. Should have just cooked out on the bbq. I ordered the "Hot Mess" burger because it had decent reviews. The burger was decent size with a tiny portion of fries on the side. It is an unassuming little place in a strip mall that serves Maine lobster and all the ways you can have it. Our fave lobster roll, it's the epitome of Maine, what I love most about visiting Maine. They offer it four ways. I love the Rockland roll. Bits of chopped onions, celery with huge chunks of lobster meat stuffed into a buttery top sliced New England bun and toasted. This option is cold lobster and you can taste the freshness of the meat. You get a delicious side of Cole slaw that is so fresh. I can't speak for too much of the menu other than the chowder, so delish. The rolls come in three sizes. The bun remains the same, it is by the weight of the lobster meat that changes: half, whole, hearty. I have had the Mainah which has the bit of mayo on it, the half portion. I do enjoy the crunch in the Rockland. That is my recommendation, but try each and decide. I haven't tried the dessert or the bowls, but I imagine they are amazing too. The one thing I don't leave without is a whoopie pie. There is a huge freezer case of them in various flavors. From Maine, of course. Overall, great experience here.
