Cost of tap water.

Setting a new precedent! They charge $1.50 for a cup of water. No it's not sparkling. No, not bottled. It is RO water. Ok so you have a restaurant at the beach and have to filter your water. I'd think your menu prices would cover that. First time in my life I've ordered tap water and had to pay $1.50 each water. The Spot, bad way to handle your costs. These are built in costs that you need to absorb elsewhere. Charging 1.50 costs you much more than you think! Disappointed.

Great outside deck and service. We popped in for a cocktail and enjoyed the nice selection on the drink menu. I wish we hadn't already eaten lunch or we'd have dug into some of the options on the specials menu.

Great burger and wing spot in Carolina beach. The wait staff split the tables so there was always someone to help! The place itself is very cool- very much a beach spot! Great outdoor patio!

The Non-Cheesy Cheese Nachos

DO NOT ORDER THE MAHI MAHI SANDWICH! They will tell you it's fresh and you will believe them, but what you get is a pre-frozen triangle fish formed patty that is DENSE & DRY. Never tasted something so bad. Sadly both me and my best friend ordered the same exact thing and they looked and tasted exactly the same, like crap. We took 1 bite and we started chewing and chewing and chewing and then we looked at each other with the same looks on our face. I had to spit part of mine out, but what did get through is now stuck in my throat, so I drank lots of their water, which tasted like it was fresh from the sewer, but I had to....to get the fish down. We both are not the type to say anything, but this was AWFUL. So we returned it, and their excuse was "it was dry because there was no Aioli" on it. We laughed at that one and said theirs no Aioli that'll make that pre-formed Fish less DRY & DENSE, I mean.... me and my friend have been on this earth for over 50 years (100+ combined years) and so you could say that we know a few things. I was shocked when the manager stated said would ONLY charge us HALF? I mean, I was embarrassed for THEM that this is what they chose to send out to us, to represent the restaurant, but now we had to pay $21.00/each to endure the bite of an awful fish. So we didn't want to fight or buck their system and just PAID, so I just want to make sure to warn everyone else that is contemplating eating at this place. The nachos were nothing to write home to Mom about, it seemed to lack the cheese part. I hope this Review helps you in your lunch/dinner decision, so that you and your family don't waist your hard earned money like we unfortunately did. We sat outside.... The ambiance was nice, had great vibes and music. I'd come here for a canned adult beverage, but NOT to eat. I only give HONEST and TRUE Reviews from the Heart. Thank you for taking the time to read it.

Portobello Sandwich

I placed a go order and ordered the Portobello sandwich. Wow! The sandwich had so much flavor and the portobello was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend ordering it. The staff was friendly. They have a small bar, and indoor and outdoor seating.

We had dinner outside with our dog one early evening at The Spot while visiting Carolina Beach. The outdoor patio is spacious, covered, and comfortable. Our dog was welcomed, and had plenty of room to lie under our table. I tried the La Playa shrimp pita special, and my husband had the blackened mahi burger. They used four or five large shrimp in my pita that were perfectly cooked, and I enjoyed the red pepper aioli. My dish came with fries, but I opted for coleslaw instead. The pita was too big and thick for me, however, and it was kind of hard to eat without falling apart. My husband enjoyed his flavorful mahi burger. While we don't usually listed to county music, they played nice country hits on the outdoor patio that even we enjoyed. Definitely sit outside if there's room--even if you don't have a dog. Their outdoor patio is one of the best for comfort! I am not sure I would return, however, because I felt their food prices were too high for what you got.

Stopped by here to grab a bite to eat for dinner and drinks. The food was 10/10 and service was good too. A great place to come for a drink and food.

"Delicious dive on Lake Park Blvd in Carolina Beach"…read more Came here for lunch on a Sunday at right around noon. The place is dark and kind-of makes you feel like you're in the bowels of a wooden ship. There's a large bar in the center, and a few tables around it, as well as a few tables outside in the back. We were seated right away. I ordered the hot honey shrimp wrap as well as the pickled veggies appetizer. My dining partner got the quinoa grain and greens bowl with blackened tuna. Our food came out in around 10 minutes. The hot honey shrimp wrap came with french fries, to my surprise (didn't see that mentioned on the menu), which were fine. The wrap itself was DELICIOUS. MAN, that hot honey was SO tasty, and the greens and corn batter on the shrimp really complemented it well. It is a very, very messy dish to eat with your hands, so be prepared, but it's well worth the sacrifice. The pickled veggies were local and very tasty-- also a very good value for $5. My dining partner really liked her bowl and the tuna in it as well. The staff were quite attentive, regularly checking in, filling drinks, and clearing dirty plates. Only caution is that a lot of the batters are corn-based, so be careful if you have that allergy. Overall, would very happily come back-- great in all respects. I recommend highly!

The food is fine, but nothing special. The service is slow and they aren't very attentive (unless…read moreyou are sitting at the bar). Really hard to get a parking spot in the paid parking options. Cute little dive bar look but going once was enough for us

It lent to a cozy vibe, and our terrorizer kids even chilled out a little. Highly recommend the flight of mimosa bombs (they were delightfully strong and equal to about 1 drink in volume!), and the all-you can eat brunch--but only if you want Diane to give you a magical experience with deliciousness coming out your ears. Bacon is crisp, FRIED CHICKEN PUTS CHICK FIL-A to damn shame, eggs were made with lots of yummy butter, the grill lends a nice char and toast to the sourdoughs and avocado toasts, the fruit in the parfaits were very freshly cut and prepared--the entire experience was handmade as we ordered, and any wait was WELL worth it once we got to chowing down! Diane was welcoming, extremely adaptable to our situation, and frankly cared about our experience. She might be a little overworked but; The rest of the town is full of the rudest service crews... Diane made me feel special. Love that woman!!!! Protect her at all costs! Lmaoooo

The space between the bar and the rail is maybe 2 bodies deep so we didn't get to walk around and really enjoy the view. The drinks were good, and the place was hopping. I would definitely pop by for 1 drink again, but I wouldn't make this my destination bar for an evening.

Honestly it was just ok. I dined here because it's where my family that was on vacation wanted to…read moreeat. There were ZERO vegetables on the menu. Everything was either high fat, meat heavy or deep fried. Just a side salad would have been great. They were short staffed so I will not comment on the service other than it's customary to ask if there will be separate checks with a large table. The server dropped one check off and it took another 30 minutes to get separate checks. I had the cheesesteak sandwich. I like mine with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise in addition to the traditional toppings. I was happy to see they make them the way that I prefer. When I got my sandwich however, there was very little meat and toppings and it was mostly bread. Everything is à la carte, so my onion rings were an additional 5 dollars and some change on top of the 14.50 sandwich and 3.50 drink. 45 dollars for an ok sandwich meal and a kids meal. It's cheaper to get appetizers for some things than the "baskets." There's also 4 different prices for the same item which is very confusing. I like to support local businesses but they didn't have anything I'd be back for. Vegetables on the menu would be amazing. Closest thing they had to a vegetable were sandwich toppings and "fried corn" which is actually a starch. And deep fried?
