Food is just ok, nothing spectacular. Had the tuna nachos which were good, hot wings were decent, Cesar Salad had too much dressing. Service was excellent, only reason I am not giving 5 stars is they had very loud music blasting and it was annoying. The place is clean . Went on a Wednesday night, 20 minute wait for 4, not too bad. All servers were so amazing and helpful even taking photos for our group. Manager came outside and turned on fairy lights for us. Shrimp scampi was a little bland but overall tasted lovely. Chicken Alfredo was the same, yummy but needed seasoning. Fries were very yummy with a nice crunch. Service for one! We had a favorite server and that's why we even went. Only ate crab dip and banging shrimp. You fired the server we went for and it's ridiculous paying for parking to spend 100 bucks on dinner You fired a great server because a month after a breakup the cook Austin couldn't work with the girl he broke up with ? She was the only reason we came. Bad move! Plus the whole general manager getting fired from previous jobs for sexual harassment. Screw y'all. read more

Everyone is so rude. Hostess was so disrespectful the second we walked in. The server just as bad. Didn't get our drinks till after we finished our meal. Asked for cocktail sauce when food got brought out and didn't get that also till after we were done eating. Ruined the entire vibe because of employees and women manager attitudes. read more

Clam chowder was not great. Cream had separated, was not fresh. Oysters were okay. Drinks were good! Server and staff were awesome. Did not want to order more food after eating the clam chowder. It sort of turned my hunger off knowing how long it had probably been sitting in a hot pan. read more

We went there last nite and had a bad experience. First we waited over an hour only to be told AT THE TABLE that their oven had been broken all day so you couldn't get most of the dishes that involve sea food. That's should have been told to us at the beginning. Then their alcohol slushy machine needed to be refilled so you couldn't get those drinks... very disappointed. read more

The service is super fast here! We visited in bad moods because we were extremely hungry, and we got an intuitive server who could pick up on the hungry vibes and got us drinks right away, and food very shortly after. I love getting my food quickly, but I love it even better when I get my food quickly and it's really good! I ordered the Captain's Fish Sandwich, which was tasty and crunchy and greasy yet light. It came with my choice of a side, and I chose pasta salad. We also ordered the blackened tuna Stoked up Island Tacos, which came with a mango salsa on top and a side of coleslaw. The fish tacos were equally tasty, and it's just nice to eat fish so close to the beach. Speaking of the beach, Stoked is located right near the water, tucked into a harbor, and it even has boat docking access. They have patio seating, of course, and you can sit outside and see the boats coming and going, and the water lapping and doing whatever it is that water does. Stoked is a solid restaurant choice if you're in the area, and I would definitely come back and try other things on the menu. read more

I am 65 years old and have been eating out at restaurants since I was a teenager. I have never written a bad review about a restaurant until now. This was the worst dining experience of my life. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. and asked for an outdoor table. Hostess said it would be a half hour wait. No problem. We got a drink and hung out on the back deck. While hanging out, I noticed that there were some empty tables. After forty-five minutes, I went back and checked with the hostess who said she couldn't tell me how long the wait was and that they weren't seating anyone right now so the kitchen could catch up. We were just about to leave when we got a text that our table was ready. It was now 8:00 p.m. They seated us outside and no one came to check on us. 20 minutes later I go back to the hostess to see what the issue is. She says she'll get someone to us right away. 5 minutes later the hostess comes and takes our order herself. We have now been waiting for almost an hour and a half and no one has apologized for the wait. We finally get our food around 9:00 p.m. By 9:15, a busser comes buy and asks if he can clear the table. 5 minutes later the waitress asks if she can bring us the check. Mind you, we still have not received an apology for this atrocious service. The waitress brings the check, full price, no apology. I have close friends who are in the restaurant business. I understand that bad things happen sometimes. But no apology, no free drinks or dessert. Nothing. Worst dining experience of my life. read more

Great for large parties and kid friendly. We had a party of 7 and was seated fairly quickly. A lot of stuff was not on the menu. But hey it means they did good last night. Full bar available. I ordered the poke bowl and it was delicious! Packed full of flavors and my husband ordered the shrimp quesadilla which was also drool worthy! A good selection on kids meals too from pastas to grilled cheese. They have on site parking. I would recommend carpooling during high volume time. Bathrooms were very clean. Service ruined the meal. Several dishes sent out wrong and major attitude from waitress because we asked to have the food made to how we order it. My daughter even felt bad bc she had to send hers back. No kid should feel that from anyone in the service industry. 3 meals sent wrong, no apology and eye rolls when we asked to fix with sighs. 8 of us for a Friday night special dinner that was not cheap and the food could have maybe been worth it but the service and actions of the staff ruined it. Not one try by the business to make it right or apologize. read more

This place has a very relaxed atmosphere with parking and it's located on the canal in Carolina Beach. Nice location with attentive wait staff. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I had a quinoa salad bowl and it was so good and got it again on my second visit. The outdoor seating is great for good weather. Nice casual eating. read more

The girls complained the minute we walked in about who was going to take our table. We were sat and waited 15 minutes before one of us went inside to let someone know no one had came out there. Food was cold, huge roaches were crawling all over the floor. read more

Let's start: The hostesses were great. They were friendly and inviting. We were a party of three including a high chair. We had told the upfront staff that we needed a high chair. When they took us back to our seat they said the waitress is coming right behind with our high chair. After waiting for several minutes our waitress showed up with no high chair and asked us if we wanted to order drinks and finally asked for a high chair again. After several minutes the waitress came back with the high chair and adult drinks. We requested a few waters for the table and after that point the waitress acted as if we didn't exist and when we did we were met with short snippy quick responses. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great. I hate how poor service can derail what otherwise would've been a nice dinner. read more

My boyfriend and I came by yesterday for dinner while in town for vacation. It was pretty quiet since it was a rainy Sunday so we got seated quickly. Clean and modern interior for a nice sit-down dinner and our server was very sweet and friendly (although I'm not sure of her name). We got the calamari, shrimp poboy with cheese grits, and the poke bowl with salmon. Ultimately the food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. Only two things that could have been better: the Sundrop soda tasted very watered down and the sushi rice in the poke bowl may have been fried a little too long as there were some very hard grains with each bite that were a little jarring to bite down on. Parking was very easy and there are also several large TVs inside, so this could be a great spot for sports fans! read more

Our waitress, Anna, was wonderful. I got the orange creamsicle cocktail and LOVED it. Husband got the super sweet spiked lemonade (can't remember what it was called) and he liked that. I ordered the poke salad with tuna (tasted very oniony. Would've been better with some soy sauce!) and a side of Mac and cheese. The bowl was heaping!! He got a fish sandwich but again I don't know what it was on the menu. For appetizers we got barbecue wings and they were huge. And delicious! This was a busy place on a Saturday night but the food and company were the best :) read more

We ate here yesterday evening.(our first time)The ambiance was very nice and warm.We ordered the shrimp cocktail which tasted fresh and they were slightly sweet.Very good.We the ordered a wedge salad which the staff split for us.I was expecting to have fresh bacon at thr price we paid but I was very disappointed the the bacon was from a jar.Sone of the bits were so hard I had to spit it out.I ordered the mahi with mashed potatoes and cole slaw.The fish was fresh but very dry.Even the mango salsa did not help.The potatoes were also dry.Both of these items should have had a sauce/gravy.My spouse had the salmon which was great as well as the cheese grits..The fruit bowl was good but the orange sections don't need the linings of each section.The we're too fibrous. This was my first time here. We were warmly greeted and asked if we had a preference where we wanted to sit. There was live music on one side and a quieter other side. There is also outdoor seating but it was too cold. We had great service. I got the shrimp and grits and was able to make two meals from that. It was good as leftovers. I also had the clam chowder and it was good but not the best I ever had. The crab dip was wonderful with warm fresh pita bread. I definitely recommend and will be back next time when visiting CB. read more

The location of this place was great. We had just finished a sunset tour and this place was directly next to the marina. It was a great place to stop after our tour and we saw different people from that same tour stop here too, so it's clear how they're able to get the sort of business they do. But I feel there are areas for this place to really take advantage of it's location and make it a better dining experience for guests. We got the flatbread to start and it was delicious. For entrees, I got the fried combination platter with shrimp and flounder. The fried shrimp was great and they didn't skimp out on the portion. The frying on the flounder was alright but I wish they had added a little lemon on the side or something else as it fell kind of flat (but this could've also been on me not requesting a lemon). The portion of fries was great, too. The tartar and cocktail sauces were both delicious. My husband got the salmon with grits, and brussel sprouts, but unfortunately they had run out of the sprouts so he got fries instead. While the salmon itself was delicious, the garlic herb butter seasoning wasn't a great fit. The salmon itself was very juicy but it was weighed down by the richness of the butter. We think it could've been better had they used a more herby sauce, with LESS butter, to go with the salmon. The portion also didn't feel like it was worth the price, which was disappointing given how close this place is to the ocean. The service was overall good, nothing to complain about but nothing to brag about. In general we see the reason this place was as popular as it was, but I think it could use an extra something to really push it over the edge as far as being a stellar beach restaurant. read more

This place was recommended to me especially for the crab dip. It was delicious. I also had the fish tacos and the salsa on top was wonderful. We had a nice view of the marina. It was too cold to sit outside but this would be a very nice view to see while sitting outside. The service was great. I would come here again when visiting Carolina beach. read more

MAN, that hot honey was SO tasty, and the greens and corn batter on the shrimp really complemented it well. It is a very, very messy dish to eat with your hands, so be prepared, but it's well worth the sacrifice. The pickled veggies were local and very tasty-- also a very good value for $5. My dining partner really liked her bowl and the tuna in it as well. The staff were quite attentive, regularly checking in, filling drinks, and clearing dirty plates. Only caution is that a lot of the batters are corn-based, so be careful if you have that allergy. Overall, would very happily come back-- great in all respects. I recommend highly!

There's non alcoholic, beers galore, THC drinks (must be a big thing in NC), ciders, and some other canned concoctions. You grab what you want and head to the register. If you are staying and grab more than one, they have to hold it for you as your second round. You can only have one open drink per person. There is a $10 minimum on purchases. Once your drink is secured, you then find a spot to perch. There's indoor and outdoor options. It was rainy when we went and we were able to find a spot that was covered. This is a super chill place. Worth coming with a group or alone. You will be chilled! They do have bathrooms, merch, and some machines to play. Super nice employees too!!!

We arrived at 6pm, and waited maybe 20 minutes for a table. When asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor, we said either was fine as long as not full-sun (some tables were full-sun). Sadly, we were placed at one of the full-sun tables initially. Luckily, when we fussed a bit, they got us a table inside. The restaurant is quite large, with a truly indoor area as well as mostly covered outdoor ones-- we were fortunate to get a truly indoor one, since it was quite hot. The menu was a bit eclectic-- seafood dishes, sandwiches, chicken, and burgers, and lots of drinks. I opted for the fish tacos, since that was reasonably priced-- something like $12-15. The AYCE crab legs were $59-- no thanks! I added a side-salad and also got a fried pickle appetizer for the table. It was a Friday night and busy, but I will say service was SLOW and frankly not great. Took us maybe 15 minutes to get asked what we'd like to order. The fried pickles came almost 30 minutes later. And the meal maybe another 15-20 minutes after that. Our server also seemed almost "put off" whenever we asked for anything, too... like basic flatware after our food arrived. He wasn't great with questions either. Though he did check on us a couple of times. Food was pretty good. The fish tacos were tasty, though one person noted that they were rather minimally seasoned and could have been really great with more. The fried dishes were "fine". One thing to note is the portions are HUGE for many dishes-- one of us got the captain's basket or something, and he's a big eater, but this was way more than he could finish. Similarly, one of us who got the chicken tender platter noted it was really, really big. On the one hand, that's good, but on the other, you're also paying the extra price since the prices were also proportionately higher. The fish tacos were a good compromise-- basically the right amount of food for one person and a decent price. The bathroom was not especially clean-- the soap dispenser was broken and on the side, and it looked like the space hadn't been serviced. The doors to the restrooms were also sticky such that they'd sometimes be left propped open. Overall, I'd say this place was OK but definitely could have been better. I liked my food fine, but the service was definitely underwhelming. One exception-- the lady working the bar was very helpful. There are a lot of GREAT restaurants in Carolina Beach, so this one doesn't do great by comparison.

We have been waiting for a place like this to open in CB! Our server, Amanda, was lovely and very helpful! She told us about the various menus and how most items could be adjusted to meet our food desires. For instance, my son originally wanted fried flounder which is not on the menu but they said they would happily adjust one of the other entrees to make it work (he ended up with mahi and tropical salsa which he loved too!!) I also had the best penne ala vodka and sautéed shrimp ever (a recommendation from Amanda too!!). The ambience is great and they are very accommodating to everyone. We came by boat and enjoyed a great dining experience (even with a 3 year old - which is no small feat. Pelicans and games are good entertainment.) New Management. New name. The restaurant was closed for several months while it was updated. Well worth the wait. The interiior is a big improvement and the decor well carried out. They have a bar room with entertainment, a quieter room for customers who want to be able to talk and an outside eating area - all with great views of the water. You can arrive by car or boat. There is docking available by the restaurant. Outstanding service. The hostess was very welcoming and our waiter, Austin Burnette. was so good that we asked for his name. He was attentive and funny. There is new ownership and the updates are awesome! I came a few years ago to the location and was hesitant coming back with my family. By far exceeded our expectations!! The food is amazing!! Cooks know exactly what they are doing. The deviled eggs appetizer, the stoked shrimp, the fried chicken sandwich and wings are soooo good!! The drinks too!! I can tell there may be a new person or two but ask for Kristina!! She has it together!! We will be returning every trip to Carolina Beach. I've given this place many chances and every time I go I find something else that makes me never want to go back, especially the jackass bartender. I don't remember his name but every time I go he's rude to everyone he comes in contact with whether it's staff or customers. He's constantly yelling at his coworkers and creates a negative environment. He is very unprofessional. If it wasn't for the attentive, high energy redheaded bartender, I probably would have left and not given this place a second chance. I've seen him yell at her multiple times while I was there yet she continued to serve us with a happy, positive attitude. Maybe he should take some notes from her! Not coming back unless they make him fix his attitude because he ruins every experience I've had there. read more

Getting through the door was a little disorganized, but once we finally got seated outside it was worth getting through the chaos. Our waiter, Gavin, was absolutely fantastic. We sat outside and enjoyed the views of the harbor and the boats. We started out with crab dip as an appetizer. It was good, but not the best I've ever had. I had the blackened mahi with grilled vegetables as my main entree, which was fantastic. My husband enjoyed his steak sandwich and said the fries were delicious. It took awhile to get our food due to a short staffed kitchen, but Gavin kept our Captain and Cokes coming and sitting by the water for a little longer wasn't bad at all. do not waste your money here they don't fix the food right or burn it the chef lou dose not treat kitchen staff well eather this place is on its way out of business the employees are taken advantege of they o money to some workers. they are not getting there checks for time they have worked there so they have a high turnover rate because of this problems. the one good manger they had quit and when he did they let everyone go he had hired because of all this going. on just save your time and money and go else where they have bug problems and all they say is its because the building is built over the water. read more

Had a great dining experience at Stoked! The food came out quickly, and the portions were huge. Our server, Landon, was fantastic. He helped us make some great choices when it came to choosing our dinner. As for the drinks, we had a bit of an issue with one being too spicy for our taste. Angel, the bartender, was understanding. He quickly swapped it out for a new one and was patient when we couldn't decide on a drink. Overall, the service, food, and drinks were top-notch, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area! We will be back! read more

My wife and I went for the Prime Rib special at under $20! It's an outstanding deal. I was pleasantly surprised by my side order of mashed potatoes and gravy- delicious. Prime rib was cooked right and came with plenty of sauce and au jus on the side. Even the tea was good here (I can't say that about tea from a lot of other local restaurants). Ordered Shrimp and it was like rubber, the only soft ones I had tasted rancid. I notified server and manager just to let them know to check their food. I left hungrier than I arrived which was a bummer considering I arrived by boat and waited over an hour at the table to receive my meal. Immediately greeted by a super friendly bartender who was also waiting tables. From the hostess to the food runner to the waitstaff... all super friendly and very attentive. Ordered raspberry lemon drop martini that was good (super sweet) and a spicy margarita of some sort - so so good. Highly recommend. Also ordered some type of tea drink that was okay. Ordered calamari that was yummy with a delicious Thai sauce. Got the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and the scallops (subbed fries for the rice) that came with a corn/edamame succotash that was great. The food was terrific. Very nice spot! Would come again.

My friends ordered the smash burger and tacos, and both looked incredible--they said everything was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially the bartender, who provided great service and was making some impressive-looking drinks. The sushi coming out of the kitchen also looked fantastic and is definitely something I'd like to try on a future visit. Between the good food, welcoming atmosphere, and great service, Shark Bar is absolutely worth checking out. Definitely a must-visit when you're in town!

I also received chips and salsa with my meal and the salsa was delicious, I just wish they gave you more of it. The bartender and waitstaff were friendly. I would dine here again.

Super friendly and attentive. She for sure added to the down home vibe that this place has. We ordered a margarita and another drink that was similar to a Manhattan. Both were great. Our service was quick and efficient! We snuck in right before the rush around 5:45 PM our server Kyra was wonderful! Her timing was excellent and her suggestions were spot on! My husband and I shared the mahi special and something called Crete Beets ( spelled on the menu beats); both were absolutely delicious! The mahi was prepared perfectly and had a nice light creole sauce which they put on the side for dipping and the crab mac & cheese was delightful with asparagus that was cooked on point; not overdone and not underdone which I know in restaurants is sometimes difficult to do. The crete "beats" was more or less a charcuterie board of roasted purple and gold beats with the most delicious whipped dip and perfectly seasoned and baked pita some of the best I've ever had with olives and cucumbers, and pickled red onions! I can't really describe the dip and apparently it's top-secret because I asked for the recipe! Our friends ordered the beet salad with extra beets; shrimp Tapatio and a bowl of the soup of the day. All were delicous and there was not a crumb or a drop left on their plates while my husband and I were still eating ours! The soup of the day was a potato jalapeño cheddar and it did not disappoint! this seriously is one of the few consistent restaurants on the island! I'm still dreaming about my food this morning!
