Food was good, typical bar food. Service was average. Cost was good. It was a nice atmosphere. Good place for lunch at the beach for sure!

So to start, the waitstaff was great. They were really kind and on the ball. And they all seem to get along with each other. Which isn't something I normally notice, but I guess it was evident enough with this crew that I did. The atmosphere was also really good. Chill, authentic. But the fried shrimp and clam basket was really mediocre. The shrimp itself was well cooked. Not overdone. But the breading was soggy on the inside. So it just felt like a gummy mess. And the clams were mixed doneness. Some were super dark and some were pale. And there was almost no clam. Just gummy breading. I didn't eat them. But my companions ordered the same thing and loved it, so who knows. The fries were soggy and very wet looking so my overall thought is the oil was too cold? Is that how this works? My husband and I went for lunch, they told us to sit wherever, so we sat ourselves. It wasn't busy when we were there. Our server was sweet but a little awkward, she kept like freezing when we were talking to her like she didn't know how to respond. But otherwise she really was great. My husband got the Mahi Tacos which were delicious. I got the fried shrimp and clam basket which was SO much food but I do think that they were a little over cooked so it felt like I was just eating breading. This was one of my favorite spots on the island. Unfortunately, the food and service have gotten worse over the last year, I cannot recommend this place anymore. Its surfing beach theme, outdoor seating, and dog friendly policy are great. Still, the parking is horrible. We stopped in for dinner tonight. Was seated right away. We had a view of the park and the main road. Very casual, comfortable place to grab a meal. We had the Philly and the shrimp burger. We ate lunch here for the first time on 4/28/26. The restaurant is upstairs, which those with mobility problems may want to consider. There were 4 parking spaces in front which did not require payment. Luckily, one was open or we would have gone elsewhere. The shrimp basket had a dozen shrimp or so, some hidden under the fries in the pic. They were battered pretty thickly, much thicker than Calabash restaurants. They were OK, but again, lots of batter. The slaw was good, and there was twice as much of it as there was at the Sandspur two days before. The fries were overly salty. The shrimp tacos were reported to be good, but my wife could not eat the french fries because of the salt. The service was good, and she refilled our water before they were empty, which was a good thing because the fries were so salty. When the check came, there was a convenience fee added on. I hate restaurants that add this fee. This fee was not mentioned on the front door or on the menu that I can see. I had pictures of both the door and the menu and posted them here. It was a 3% fee for credit cards before they asked if I would pay with cash or credit. The lady said "Oh, I will take that off if you are paying with cash." and did so. They also had a line for rounding to the nearest nickel. This may only apply if a customer pays cash. It makes no sense on a credit card payment. If they charge 2c more, that means the $13.99 shrimp basket was $14.00 and the $15.99 shrimp tacos were $16.00. It seems unbelievably cheap to round to the nearest nickel instead of rounding down to the nearest nickel. Are there even 50 customers per day who pay in cash? Probably half the tickets will round down anyway. If you round down by 4c on 25 tickets, it's a whole $1 off the gross for the day. Is that dollar worth leaving a bad impression with 25 customers? If the food was better and they got rid of the credit card fee, or at least notified in advance that they charged one, we might return if there was a free parking space available. If they cut back on the salt on the fries, they might save enough to not worry about rounding cash tickets. read more

Cool place for dinner! Amazing it was a converted beach house into a restaurant. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Quick service and good food. My daughter had the chicken Cesar wrap and raved about it. My wife had the burger and she ate all of it! 1/2 lb of charcoaled cooked goodness. My daughter's friend had the buffalo sandwich. Fun, busy, kid-friendly, casual surf-themed place with GOOD food. A little tricky to get around for parking, then you have to find the side stairs up to the restaurant. Great food. Started off with a long wait to be seated, which is understandable for how busy they were. The drinks and appetizers were good but we waited AT LEAST 45 minutes for our entrees. The mahi on the sandwich was the best I had from my trip on Carolina & Kure beach. So flavorful and tasty. The fries are hand-cut and the portion size is filling. Our first meal at the beach this year and what a disappointment. Walked in, seated promptly, nice atmosphere, ordered quickly and drinks were brought. It went downhill from there. We waited 45+ minutes to get our food, watched other customers that came in after us get their food. At first I thought it was maybe simple appetizers but I was wrong. Waiter never checked on us. I had to get him and asked where our food was at. After asking, our food came out piecemeal. The food was not good, the burgers were burnt, the cold slaw was warm, all around bad experience. visiting from out of town and saw the good reviews and needed to check it out. we arrived at opening time but they were having a 15 minute delay with opening but we were able to put our name on the list. It really didn't present an issue for us and it was worth the wait. Our waitress was great. very attentive and sweet. Our order came within 15 minutes of placing it. Unfortunately, the fries were a bit undercooked but was able to get a fresh batch that was perfect. My chicken was really good that I dipped in the teriyaki sauce. Very greasy but sometimes that's what you need. They had some good looking salads that would work well for an entree. The porch is a really nice area, but we were seated inside which was loud & crowded so not the most comfortable but again, that was expected. It had a little kick, but was very tasty. The hush puppies were served with cinnamon butter and had the perfect crunch. Hubby had the Cobb salad and I had the Hang Ten bacon cheeseburger with fries. First time here. Very good food and servers! The first thing I saw was that the restaurant is upstairs and no elevator. Parking is minimal so carpool. It was busy on a Sunday around noon. I got the BLT on texas toast for $8. Large sandwich with really good bacon cooked just right. The bread was toasted but still soft. It was REALLY GOOD! It comes with FF or Chips. I got chips and they were VERY GOOD. My friend had the Hang Ten burger for $10 and she said it was very good and tasted like it came off a BBQ grill, but the FF's were nothing special to rave about. The ice tea was good too. We had to sit by the door and that was annoying and a little cold, but other than that I will definitely come back to lunch. Even though not happy about the seating and the french fries I still give this place 5 Stars. Service was excellent. read more

And has very limited designated parking. We started with fried green beans with Thai chili dipping sauce. This combo was delicious. Next we had Veggie Philly and Tuna Sandwich with fries.
