We ate lunch here for the first time on 4/28/26. The restaurant is upstairs, which those with mobility problems may want to consider. There were 4 parking spaces in front which did not require payment. Luckily, one was open or we would have gone elsewhere. The shrimp basket had a dozen shrimp or so, some hidden under the fries in the pic. They were battered pretty thickly, much thicker than Calabash restaurants. They were OK, but again, lots of batter. The slaw was good, and there was twice as much of it as there was at the Sandspur two days before. The fries were overly salty. The shrimp tacos were reported to be good, but my wife could not eat the french fries because of the salt. The service was good, and she refilled our water before they were empty, which was a good thing because the fries were so salty. When the check came, there was a convenience fee added on. I hate restaurants that add this fee. This fee was not mentioned on the front door or on the menu that I can see. I had pictures of both the door and the menu and posted them here. It was a 3% fee for credit cards before they asked if I would pay with cash or credit. The lady said "Oh, I will take that off if you are paying with cash." and did so. They also had a line for rounding to the nearest nickel. This may only apply if a customer pays cash. It makes no sense on a credit card payment. If they charge 2c more, that means the $13.99 shrimp basket was $14.00 and the $15.99 shrimp tacos were $16.00. It seems unbelievably cheap to round to the nearest nickel instead of rounding down to the nearest nickel. Are there even 50 customers per day who pay in cash? Probably half the tickets will round down anyway. If you round down by 4c on 25 tickets, it's a whole $1 off the gross for the day. Is that dollar worth leaving a bad impression with 25 customers? If the food was better and they got rid of the credit card fee, or at least notified in advance that they charged one, we might return if there was a free parking space available. If they cut back on the salt on the fries, they might save enough to not worry about rounding cash tickets. read more

We stopped in for dinner tonight. Was seated right away. We had a view of the park and the main road. Very casual, comfortable place to grab a meal. We had the Philly and the shrimp burger. visiting from out of town and saw the good reviews and needed to check it out. we arrived at opening time but they were having a 15 minute delay with opening but we were able to put our name on the list. It really didn't present an issue for us and it was worth the wait. Our waitress was great. very attentive and sweet. Our order came within 15 minutes of placing it. Unfortunately, the fries were a bit undercooked but was able to get a fresh batch that was perfect. My chicken was really good that I dipped in the teriyaki sauce. Food, menu, and service! The burgers are hand-pattied daily and taste like they are cooked on a grill. Juicy, cheesy and the bun is steamed. The mahi on the sandwich was the best I had from my trip on Carolina & Kure beach. So flavorful and tasty. The fries are hand-cut and the portion size is filling. Fun, busy, kid-friendly, casual surf-themed place with GOOD food. A little tricky to get around for parking, then you have to find the side stairs up to the restaurant. Great food. I had a messy, yet very delicious ahi tuna sandwich with aioli sauce and tasty french fries & coleslaw. Must get are the hush puppies! Good service. Only complaint I have were the mixed drinks. We ordered a margarita and a mai tai and they both came in small plastic glasses full of ice. :/ Neither mixed drinks were anything spectacular. Other than that it's definitely worth a visit! Good selection of American foods to choose from. Service is adequate for the style of the place. A short wait outside was enjoyable because of the seating and shade in a quiet corner of CB. Very greasy but sometimes that's what you need. They had some good looking salads that would work well for an entree. Hang Ten Grill came recommended as must go to in the CB area. Great place, but the restaurant is upstairs so could be challenging especially for anyone with a movement disorder or mobility issue. And has very limited designated parking. We started with fried green beans with Thai chili dipping sauce. This combo was delicious. Next we had Veggie Philly and Tuna Sandwich with fries. First time here. Very good food and servers! The first thing I saw was that the restaurant is upstairs and no elevator. Parking is minimal so carpool. It was busy on a Sunday around noon. I got the BLT on texas toast for $8. Large sandwich with really good bacon cooked just right. The bread was toasted but still soft. It was REALLY GOOD! It comes with FF or Chips. I got chips and they were VERY GOOD. My friend had the Hang Ten burger for $10 and she said it was very good and tasted like it came off a BBQ grill, but the FF's were nothing special to rave about. The ice tea was good too. We had to sit by the door and that was annoying and a little cold, but other than that I will definitely come back to lunch. WOW...We had a wonderful experience with our late lunch at the Hang Ten Grill. It was fantastic. The environment was awesome. Great decor. Not a big place but comfy and cozy. Menu was large for the size of the operation - salads, burgers, sandwiches and fish options. They are in walking distance of the ocean, so it is convenient. Our server blew us away. We were a group of 11 and he didn't write our order down and got it all right. Even with 11 of us, it only took about 15 mins for our meals to come out. Their fries were awesome. Seasoned well. Hot and Tasty. Their homemade potato chips were awesome too...but we liked the fries better. If you are near Hang Ten Grill, it is worth the stop. You have to do a series of steps to get up to the restaurant, about 20 steps, but the climb is worth it. Some quotes from our group. "That burger was 10 out of 10" "that burger just hit right" "this place was a hit". It doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let that scare you away. A must for us each time we come to Carolina Beach. Service (Jake) was amazing, very friendly staff, and the food was delicious. My husband loves the Tsunami burger! It was cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. I enjoyed the seafood salad with blackened tuna. The salad is chopped with a good variety of vegetables. The tuna was cooked medium rare and was delicious. Thanks for another great meal! We actually came back two nights later. Gianna was awesome and they remade our Tsunami burger as it was over cooked. Wow!!!!!!!! We came for a day trip to Carolina/Kure Beach. We usually grab some take out and eat in the beach but we couldn't order take out due to them being busy (to be expected as it was a Saturday, during lunch and in the summer) we decided to go anyways and SO glad we did. They told us a half hour and it was more like 20 minutes. The place is small and we were seated inside. It is cramped if it's busy FYI if You are still being covid concerned. I have been craving a good fried chicken wrap since we moved to NC almost 2 months ago. NOTHING has done it for me until here!!! Oh my it was SOOOO good! They must panini press the outside to make it extra crispy. I also appreciated the amount of sauce they had on it. The blackened and grilled Mahi Mahi tacos were phenomenal. The piece of fish on each taco was huge. The fish meat had a ton of flavor. We also shared the chicken nachos and our family of 4 devoted them. Service was great. Looks like the place to work for local teens. They were all very attentive.
