Had another great time here, I can't stop bragging about Junction 421. If you are in the Monkey Junction section of Wilmington, stop in. They have specials each night of the week, pub style atmosphere, and large portions. This visit, we are out with friends, so no photos this time. However, for apps, my fav are the Brussels sprouts and we tried the potato skins. I gave the Carolina burger a try and it was huge. Others had the grilled salmon with veggies, steak sandwich, and the fettuccine Alfredo. We all took our leftover food to go. The portions are huge, service is great, and the prices are pretty fair for the size of the meals. I would like to try a milkshake next visit. Or a dessert. Either way, you will leave very full!

Very friendly and accommodating! Great atmosphere, from beginning to end awesome service. They gave us free stuffed cheese balls for being first timers. The food was excellent, the best fish and chips I have had since being in Willmington. My daughter ordered the steak with cherry sauce also excellent. Would highly recommend.

My fiancé and I were running errands and decided to come in for a quick meal one evening. We looooove the fresh rolls with the strawberry butter (seriously, it's amazing, get lots of it!) and the fried pimento cheese balls. We were so busy eating these, I missed pictures of our main meals- the 421 chicken entree and the smashburger. Each time we come here, the food is always tasty with good sized portions. We never have to wait to get a table, but the restaurant is at least 75% full so definitely bustling.

Brought my grandkids here for dinner. Granddaughter chose off the children's menu: pizza, it was huge! Grandson picked a double bacon burger and fries: ate it all! I had the steak salad. It was very good. We were given a free sample of the fried palmetto cheese! Yum yum! We ended up ordering chicken wings also as the kids were hungry. The big hit was the shark tank drink for the kids. Very cute, it's enormous and the kids took some we home. A bit on the pricey side, but we did get an appetizer and the shark tank which drive up the $$$z. I'd go again,

Nice family restaurant, the owners walks around and makes sure you are happy with your food and a nice chat. We had burgers which were excellent. I'm pretty much a burger snob and was very happy. And they give you pimento bites which were also yummy. We will return

"Welcome Home" is how you're greeted at this laid back eatery. The staff was warm and took good care of us. The coconut shrimp was yummy and the fried pimento cheese balls was a tasty treat. The grouper Oscar special was great and my husband enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Portions were generous!

This is such a delicious, wonderful restaurant. I love how after all of these years the chef still Comes out and greets every table. We had a party of 3 tonight. We started with crab dip which was wonderful! Them we each had a side Salad and the portions were huge. All of the dressings are made in house. I had the sirloin and it want the best but I think that's cause I am More of a filet person. Y friend loves her shrimp and grits and my other friend got a shrimp and crab pasta meal and y looked amazing! I had a delicious extra dirty martini too!

Attended for Easter Sunday special brunch. Here is my review: Food: very good! Fresh and tasty! Special holiday menu have great options and everything was fresh that we ordered. We were not disappointed with selecting this restaurant for our Easter plans. Location: great location off south college. Large lots attached so parking is plentiful. Easy on and off the main road and you can also access the same lot from Carolina beach road at the far east section. Great bar with sports in one area. Seating for restaurant style in another. Clean restrooms. Seating in bar area and around it too. But there is also interior and outdoor patio options. Booths available for groups or large table set up. Service: top notch! Very attentive very personable very helpful. Drinks never went empty. Food delivery to table was spaced properly. Loved the staff and the owner even came by to wish us well for the holiday and for the meal. Great vibes. Attire/vibe: today was a mix of outfit types for Easter but in general I heard it can be business casual or casual. It's a popular spot and liked, clearly, it was super busy! But things moved very organized for seating.

We felt very forgotten by our server Mya. Mashed potatoes and Sirloin were out when we got there. 3 out of the 5 meals were good. The shrimp and grits was the biggest let down. There was more broth than grits and far too many mushrooms. Burger was fine and pizza was good.

Everything seems to be as locally sourced as possible. This is a higher end restaurant so not really a place to bring your kids or make menu changes (which is frowned upon in high end dining anyways). The service is top tier! These servers really know what they are doing and I've even watched them handle unhappy customers with outstanding service as well (remember they're people too and if someone talked to me the way I have seen them get treated I'd be in jail). The building and ambiance is magical, very high end and I just feel special and high class when I eat there!

It seemed to me like a place that was trying too hard to be a white table cloth kind of restaurant, very much with a pinky out. I personally do not see myself eating here again due to the perceived false upscale. The menu was very scarce with only a handful of dishes available, each that again looked like they were trying too hard. The weirdest thing for me was the lower sanitation rating of 91 compared to other similar "classy" locations. What I think saved the experience for me was the staff. The hostess and waitress were both extremely polite, with whom I believe was the manager making the rounds as well. My waitress was on top of her game throughout the meal, and never let my glass go empty. If the staff were nothing to write about, this review would probably be a one star.

What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.

The star of the show is definitely the food. The chef is super proud of his food, and he should be. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 on food instead of a 5 is because there was no iced tea (in the summer in the carolinas - not really forgivable) the water was nasty and the biscuits on my Benedict were towards the burnt side on the bottom. Honestly, everything otherwise was amazing. What was really great: The restaurant itself is AMAZING! It's like being transported to a Parisian cafe. I love that when you walk in, you immediately see the fully in view kitchen. I'm assuming a chef owns the restaurant and designed the layout. The patio is quaint and delightful and surprisingly private for a downtown sidewalk restaurant. The eggs on my Eggs Benedict could not have been more perfect. I'm not a fried potato person; however, the pan fried potatoes here are mostly whole and they are out of this world. They were exceedingly crispy on the outside and completely soft on the inside. My son ordered the dutch baby. It was delicious. The accompanied fruit was perfect and truly ripe. I feel like they would have to toss a lot of fruit to get the ones that were truly that perfect. What did not work: The water - it was about 85 degrees out and humid. There is nothing here refreshing. Water is served European style meaning no ice and out of the tap. Warm tap water on a hot day in South Carolina is just nasty. It's ironic that while Europeans visiting the US for the World Cup are posting social media reels raving about ice in drinks in the United States, meanwhile The Dram Yard is insisting on pulling all of the worst parts of eating out in Europe into their restaurant. I truly dislike restaurants that serve canned and bottled beverages. It screams, "nickel and dime". If you bought your cans of soda at Costco and charged $4.00 for a can, I'd have to drink 9 cans before you're losing money. There is literally no reason to limit beverages other than driving higher profits. I hate price gouging. At the very least get a fountain and serve iced tea. SERVICE - the service staff simply makes you feel like they're doing you a favor by being open. Don't expect anything after that. When we arrived, the restaurant was at about 25% capacity with 2 food servers, who also double as the hostess. After waiting 10 minutes to be seated (yes...even at 25% capacity), service truly went downhill from there. It wasn't that the staff was rude. They were just not present and extremely slow. It honestly seemed like they were doing everything they could to not be seen. We needed salt, a refill of the water carafe and our check. That was it. The staff would come to our part of the dining room but then not even glance around or come by to see if we needed anything. I'm giving them a 2 because they were exceedingly slow and not present. When we did chase them down, I felt rude asking for help. The chef delivered our food. He was very proud and should be. However, here's the rub. The chef needs to learn that being in the restaurant business is not only about creating great food. It also requires front of house service and an overall dining experience that people are happy with. Right now, I'm walking away feeling: 1. great food and great atmosphere 2. terrible service 3. nickle and dimed me on drinks 4. doesn't have the sense to serve iced tea in the Caronlinas So - as much as I loved the food - there are too many restaurants in Wilmington that are good enough to overcome 2, 3 and 4 above. The Dram could be fixed so easily: 1. hire servers who want to be there and smile a little 2. put ice in your water 3. serve iced tea - at least in the summer months 4. get a soda fountain - it's 2026 Unfortunately, we won't be back because there are simply other options that, at the very least, hit 1, 2 and 3 with good food.

It was the first night of a new menu and there was a free concert offered so the restaurant was filling quickly. Two factors that often make for some hiccups. Not a one! We received friendly, knowledgeable, professional service. We had an assigned server but other team members were happy to provide support by topping up water glasses or clearing plates which had barely been cleaned. The food? First rate. We ladies shared the chopped salad- a salute to spring- including goat cheese, red onions, mushrooms and strawberries along with crisp romaine lettuce. True to the name- easily managed bite sized morsels- artfully dressed with fresh vinaigrette which accentuated the fresh vegetables rather than overpowering. We were offered and gladly accepted fresh, warm rolls and soft, spreadable butter. My friend sipped her mocktail happily while I enjoyed a California Pinot Gris from the pleasantly refreshing drinks menu with wines by bottle or glass, mocktails and craft cocktails for we who appreciate the pleasures of mixologist. Oh the soup of the day! A modest title for an ambrosia of seafood- shrimp, crab and fish- bathed in a sinfully rich cream sauce and studded with cubes of tender potatoes and once crispy bacon- not limp, fatty stand in's. The only complaint I would have is that the Salmon Tacos was a bit small. The dish is two small tacos with a side of tortilla chips. There is no salsa, no pico de gallo, no slaw. I was actually sorry that I didn't get an appetizer. I was still a little hungry after I finished. We didn't want any of the dessert offered this time. Again, everything was great. Service, food, atmosphere, outside patio. Just my dish was a little less in size. I will keep that in mind next time we visit. It is an unassuming little place in a strip mall that serves Maine lobster and all the ways you can have it. Our fave lobster roll, it's the epitome of Maine, what I love most about visiting Maine. They offer it four ways. I love the Rockland roll. Bits of chopped onions, celery with huge chunks of lobster meat stuffed into a buttery top sliced New England bun and toasted. This option is cold lobster and you can taste the freshness of the meat. You get a delicious side of Cole slaw that is so fresh. I can't speak for too much of the menu other than the chowder, so delish. The rolls come in three sizes. The bun remains the same, it is by the weight of the lobster meat that changes: half, whole, hearty. I have had the Mainah which has the bit of mayo on it, the half portion. I do enjoy the crunch in the Rockland. That is my recommendation, but try each and decide. I haven't tried the dessert or the bowls, but I imagine they are amazing too. The one thing I don't leave without is a whoopie pie. There is a huge freezer case of them in various flavors. From Maine, of course. Overall, great experience here. An authentic Maine spot in Wilmington. Don't miss this place. 5 stars

The shop itself is tiny with only a few tables, and because the food quality is so good, it's definitely a popular place. You may have to wait a bit, so maybe not the best choice if you're in a big hurry. The couple running the shop were incredibly sweet and made the experience even better. I had the Portland Lobster Roll and loved it. Next time, though, I definitely want to try the Stonington Roll -- lobster warmed in butter. My daughter ordered it and it looked absolutely amazing. I will definitely return the next time I visit Wilmington!

We decided on a date night out while in town, and have had Jerry's on my list for a little while…read more We made a reservation the night before for Saturday night. Reservations are recommended since the dining room is cozy and they might not be able to accommodate you without one. The place is so cute inside, very cozy with fresh roses on every table. We were seated toward the back against the wall, which is great. This table had comfortable high back chairs that seemed just for the tables for 2. Our server came by and introduced herself and said warm bread was coming. We had filled water glasses and took our order for additional drinks. We had a chance to look over the menu. The menu is small, but has a nice variety of favorites that you will find it easy to choose. I asked if there were any specials, but not on Saturday night. Friday night has a short rib special you could call ahead and reserve. That is a nice tip, since she mentioned they may run out. We decided to start with the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad. Beautiful presentation on the soup and an amazing flavor. So delicious. The salad is very large and looked great. They brought out a second basket of bread with delicious herb butter. I really had to stop eating the bread! For entrees, we went with the goat cheese crusted grouper, with had beautiful puréed potatoes and squash and zucchini. I wasn't sure if I would like goat cheese with grouper, but it was a fantastic pairing. The scallops were large and crispy on the outside on top of a spinach risotto. So rich and tasty. The grouper paired well with a Pinot Grigio. The server went over the dessert choices and there were several to choose from. We decided on a chocolate toffee mousse cake. So incredibly rich and delicious. If you love chocolate, get this cake. My hubs and I shared one slice and it was enough after a filling dinner. Jerry's is located in a strip mall near the Wrightsville Beach area. It is very unassuming from the outside but, this place does service, atmosphere and food in high standard. They have been here a long time and it's clear the locals love it. This was my first visit, and will definitely return for the next date night or special occasion. 5 stars

You walk into Fish Bites hoping it's still the same place you've trusted over the years--and I'll…read moresay it right up front: it is. Maybe even a touch better. The Food We went straight for what matters. * Chilean Sea Bass -- cooked right, flaky, moist, and seasoned without trying to show off. That's how it's supposed to be done. No nonsense, just good fish handled properly. * Fish Bites (house specialty) -- lightly battered, crispy without being greasy, and paired with both Thai chili and tartar sauces. That combo works. You don't fix what isn't broken, and thankfully they didn't. * Ponzu Tuna Tacos -- these were the standout. Fresh, flavorful, balanced. The ponzu brings just enough bite without overpowering the tuna. If you're going there and skip these, that's on you. Sides held their own--fresh vegetables with a good sauté, and coleslaw that didn't taste like it came out of a tub somewhere in the back. Service Our server, Kali (K-A-L-I), did things the old-school way--attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. That's getting rare these days, and it's worth mentioning. Value Two people, solid seafood, no corners cut: $67.15 total. In today's world? That's not just fair--that's impressive. Final Take New ownership can sometimes mean a place loses its identity. That didn't happen here. Fish Bites still delivers what made it a favorite--fresh seafood, straightforward preparation, and consistency. If anything, they've tightened things up just enough to notice
