Also put onions on the burger after we specified TWO TIMES, no onion. They also don't close until 9pm and we walked in a 8:15 and she immediately goes "yeah we're closed" when we had a takeout order. Great location easy parking on the street. Inside it is very sterile and has a cold feeling to it. Bar is small but comfortable. Service was quick food was out fast and was exactly what ordered. It is for sure one of the better burger joints in town. I would for sure go back. So if you want a good burger at a reasonable price you should check it out. Oh and this is a big one for me. Saw an ad for the grill and decided to check out their menu. Holy cow, the choices for hamburgers was "crazy", had to check them out. Went for dinner a week ago. The place is spacious and has a great vibe. The staff is really friendly, they welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was Haley and she was very attentive. She took our drink and appetizer order and gave us time to choose what burgers we wanted. And we needed it 'cause there's about 20 variations. They came quick, were hot and delicious. My wife's drink was one of their specialties and really good and the beer selection for me was good. We are very impressed and will be back again to go through the burger list and she can go through the drink list while I go through the beer list. read more

How quickly this place declined. The service is still great and those who work there are fun and seem happy to be there. The health score dropped from a 97 to a 93 which is disturbing. We would have left but we were there with a group and didn't want to disrupt the plan. I got a fajita chicken wrap which was okay, but I pulled at least 20 jalapeños out of one half. Now, I'm not saying that's bad because those who love those would be thrilled, but it was a bit much for me. There was also a hair in the second half. Ugh. Ate dinner here on a Friday night at about 6:20pm before watching a show at the nearby Wilson center. It was busy, but there was still some tables available. It took a little over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. I did notice our food was sitting at the counter for a few minutes so by the time it arrived to our table it was lukewarm. We ordered the Beyond Burger, Fried Green Tomato burger, Big Wisconsin (without bacon), and the Smoked Brisket sandwich. Sides we ordered were the side salad, sweet potato fries, and regular fries. My meal companions thought the Beyond Burger was okay and the Smoked Brisket sandwich was good. The Big Wisconsin burger was mediocre. The burger meat was very dry and wasn't that flavorful. The cheese was skimpy. The onions were not grilled well, they were basically raw red onion slices. The size of the burger was not too big nor too small for my petite stomach. I did order a single patty, but I would say if you're a bigger person/have a bigger stomach try ordering double patties for a more filling meal. I tried a bite of my partner's Fried Green Tomato burger and that was way better than the Big Wisconsin burger. The regular fries were okay. We didn't ask and we also weren't offered to pick salad dressings for our side salads. So when we got our side salads, we didn't get any salad dressing other than the 1,000 island dressing that comes with the Big Wisconsin. The side salad was your basic iceberg lettuce mix that you buy from the store, with added chopped tomato, shredded cheddar cheese and bacon (which we omitted). If I ever come here again, I would stick with the Fried Green Tomato burger. read more

Visited the Angus Grill this week. We could take it or leave it. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and they were not very impressive. We couldn't figure out the vibe in this place. Is it a hamburger joint? Is it a bar? Is it a modest priced restaurant? We had a server that barely acknowledged us. Her peers seemed more driven by socializing amongst the other servers and really acting silly. It was 5pm on a Wednesday. Arrived at Angus Grill at 7:30. Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged to be seated. Once seated our server arrives at our table menus in hand, doesn't acknowledge us and asks us if we know what we want to order, while still holding the menus. When we say we didn't know ( remember ... we haven't seen the menu yet ) the server stated "you realize we close in 15 minutes". Uhm .... 1) No Hello 2) Mad we didn't know what we wanted to eat when we hadn't even been handed menus yet 3) Proceeds to guilt us for having the audacity to show up during the Angus Grill business hours to order food. 4) Food arrives 20 minutes later - which we didn't care about but in that time the server was too busy doing closing work to bring silverware before the food was served. 5) The first time the server comes back to check on us is when the bill is presented. After seeing the other reviews, I knew I had to check this place out. Such a variety of comments and scores had me wondering and today Kathy and I went to see (and taste) for ourselves. Glad we did! We arrived to a mostly empty place (around 2 PM) and easily found a table. Alanna, our server, was there in a timely manner to take our drink orders and drop off the menus (let the salivation begin!). If the burgers were half as good as the descriptions...this was going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Kathy ordered the BBQ Bacon Gouda burger with sweet potato fries, while I ordered the Angus Bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The food arrived hot with crisp fries and onion rings that were delicious and not at all greasy. The burgers were a bit of heaven for us and we devoured them (I did manage to get an image of mine, but realized to interfere with Kathy during her feeding frenzy would not be pretty. Alanna provided extra napkins and they were needed as the burgers were juicy and delicious. Great service and glorious food with a LARGE selection that we have only just begin to explore. I had to get the Big Wisconsin burger because you don't see a burger with cheese curds very often. It was a good choice. The potato salad was ok and my husband's tots were much better. I'd get those next time. He also had the rib-eye cheesesteak which was good but I'd recommend getting a burger. Absolutely incredible! Good atmosphere and excellent wait staff. Parking is a bit limited but that's expected in Wilmington. I got the Bacon Jam burger with tator tots. The meat is seasoned well but that bacon jam that's just on another level and adds a good sweetness to the burger. This is our 3rd time coming here with the same situation. There's always 2-3 bartenders running around with a full restaurant, and the excuse is "there is one guy in the back because the rest of the staff didn't want to come in." Every time it's different people working. It took 30 min for spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and then the food came out 5 min later. My date ordered a wine and they disappeared for at least 15 minutes. No server was behind the bar or on the floor. We ended up leaving a full glass of terrible wine on the bar and left. If you're into the ultimate fatting of having a burger, this is the place. I mean, c'mon, Mac and cheese on a burger? But hold onto your hats, because there's the quest burger, the Hawaiian one with pineapple and bacon or the gawddamn fried green tomato burger with a fried egg. It's a nice cozy restaurant with plenty of staff. We arrived around noon , only one other table there. It has great local artwork around on the walls. There are so many burgers on the menu , it's difficult to choose one, and there is a whole other side to the menu; filled with sandwiches, salads, and wraps. Decided on a Brisket burger; smoked brisket , barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese and coleslaw , onion rings . Also ordered a Mushroom , Bacon Swiss Burger. It's great to be able to order 4, 8 or 12 ounce burger , the 4 ounce matched my appetite perfectly. We both ordered a side of fries. The burgers came out in a timely manor , hot , perfectly cooked , but not correct . The mushroom burger was to be minus the cheese, sadly it came with cheese, which was corrected immediately. The burgers were seasoned well , and cooked perfectly. The roll was tasty and the fries , well seasoned and also perfectly fried. Please ask for extra napkins , the coleslaw was wonderful creating more moisture to a already juicy burger. By the time we were enjoying our burgers the place was filling up .
