You must stop at (SUB STOP) on a beautiful sunny day that may be spent by a body of blue water! I went to sub stop and had two stubs that my friend and I split! The Italian Sub is a must! Prepare the sub all the way garnish and do not add mayonnaise please! The Italian sub has the right amount of everything and a fluffy bread that held air pockets! I really enjoyed it! Second, a classic turkey provolone loaded with mayo, lettuce, tomato, salt pepper, oil & vinegar! Kept it simply beautiful! Great, conventional, trust worthy sub choice! Lastly, the service was great and met with laughter! Really enjoyed looking at all the stickers, they made me laugh! Some are not kid friendly but some kids can't read so whatever! read more

These people know how a cheese steak should be made. Their prices are low and the service is fast.

As someone who is not a salt fiend by any means, these subs really want for seasoning. Don't bother getting it toasted. Some of the cheese was melted, but not the bread at all. Turkey was bland. Roast beef was bland. I've had better subs at Jimmy Johns and that's sad. read more

I love Sub Stop! I've been here about three times and I haven't had a bad experience at all. They're always busy, always great customer service and great food. Their French fries are fresh and are just the right amount served with sandwiches. The sandwiches are humongous too, check out my picture and you'll see! I can't get anything but the philly cheese steak each time I come here. Full of meat, mushrooms, peppers and onions. My friend has gotten the Italian and that looked just as great, he told me it had a ton of flavor, full of meat and even though I didn't try it I believe at some point I will have too. I know it's silly but they have ice that's like the snow cone type and that's my favorite. The fruit punch drink they have sits to the left of the soda fountain and I promise you HAVE to try this! Sometimes you're in the mood for a sub. We probably drove past a half dozen places on the way here that could have fed the need that only bread can feed. The difference between this place and the soulless sub shop chains is that they serve other things too like fries, burger subs, fried pickles and lots of sub options that probably exceeds the other places too. Fresh ingredients, nice cuts of meat and decent portion sizes. Too many places jam too much stuff in and you just end up eating it like a Neanderthal whereas Sub Stop have that ratio right and you get to eat it as a sub without stuff falling everywhere. Do yourself a favor. Stay local. Eat better and put your money into the local economy rather than lining the bank account of greedy executives that don't care whether you enjoy the food. In the past 2 years I have ordered take out there weekly Always good subs at reasonable prices. The counter staff are always friendly. This afternoon while at the window paying for my sub, the owner/cook decided to get into a heated discussion with the nice lady at the window. He has interrupted the lady who was running my card to have this discussion with her.... She even told him they can talk later as she had someone at the window and he didn't let up. After about another 45 seconds of not getting my card or my food I felt it necessary to yell into the window to remind this jerk that she's helping a customer. Their discussion immediately stopped, she then ran my card and passed me my sub. The lady at the window had a pained look on her face when I asked if he was the owner and she replied that he was the owner. I asked her to advise him that he just lost a customer as I will not be going back. As I was leaving I noticed he has a help wanted flag flying ... I guess so ... he's not a very good manager. read more

Honestly, love this place. Old school, classic subs that are HUGE. I also love that they have more than just chips for a side.

This place may earn a 5 star but I'll have to try a few more things. We went at an off time and there seemed to only be one person working but hey, why waste $ on labor if you don't have to. I went with the Italian and my son had a burger. The bread was good (but not Apple Annie's good :)). The Italian was just what it should have been. I could have used a few more onions but that's me. The burger was good but very salty. I love salt but that was almost too much salt. Almost. ;) This place really hits the mark with the krinkle cut fries and "good ice". Hand cut fries are great but give me a krinkle any day and I'm happy. That ice though. Why is it that more places don't have the "good ice". It's always random little dive places and hospitals. Walked in knowing what I wanted by looking at the menu ahead of time but had a few questions. Seems like just one front desk and one cook. Bother super friendly and still had my order in 10 minutes. Cheesesteak amazing(got the steak combo onions peppers mushrooms). Chicken parm amazing. Homemade ranch! Cheese fries were great usually I don't like cheese sauce because it's so salty but these were perfect. Onions rings are like Nathan's in the grocery store not too sweet(counter lady helped with that took her suggestion and tried it very happy) saw the menu posted on yelp and was thinking oh man must be old prices pre covid no way it's this cheap. Nope prices are the same 7.50 half 12.00 whole. Even going regular steak and cheese to supreme with all the fixings was only another .50!! Go to jersey mikes it's 10$ half 18$ whole. Can't beat it. Great service great taste will never go anywhere else for a sub! read more

Killer dive sub shop! Always hits the spot, very consistent. I'm partial to the turkey sub, but opted for the sub stop burger today. It has two burgers lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, cherry peppers, and mayo. It definitely hit the spot! Always does. I went here for over a decade and ever since day one it's been the hands down best sub place I ever been to. When I lived in Charlotte and drove in I would stop here and tell them I wish they had one there because nothing else comes close. What I miss about NC! The food. MD just doesn't compare. Got away to Wilmington to escape the blizzard. I'm from NC, but it's the only city in the state I've never explored. Being that it's the only spot south of MD within driving distance that escaped the blizzard, I said what the heck! Found this spot on my way to a stroll to explore downtown. They have a vast menu, but I chose the ham, salami, and cappicola on a wheat sub bun. It was on special. Ahh this reminds me of the old fashioned sub shops. Option to get it hot or cold, so I got it hot. Man those thinly sliced onions just perfect for subs, cherry peppers, oil and vinegar, and oregano. Just melted in my mouth! I washed it down with some type of flavored lemonade, raspberry or strawberry maybe? Not sure but it's good. Very good customer service too! They speak upon your entrance, and actually call your name when your order is ready. One of the few things I like about the south, actual customer service. Only gave it 4 stars because the sub wasn't the absolute best sub I've had, but it was pretty close to it! Would definitely return on another visit to Wilmington. read more

Went here for a quick lunch after reading a few reviews here on Yelp... and because it was across the street from where I was getting my car fixed. The sign says that it has been open since the 1970's so that is always good! There were quite a few people there as it was the beginning of the lunch rush. The employee's were all friendly fast and efficient, the prices were good... and the food was too. I had a mushroom cheesesteak and it was definitely greasy but very good. Definitely a great place to go on a cold day when you are craving something hot. There was a line when I walked in and I was able to order and eat in, in about 15 mins. Cheap, quick, tasty.
