After a couple hours of shopping, an appetite was worked up and we were close-ish to Alki. I have had Fire Tacos on my list for a while, so I convinced my little group to come here and I'm glad I did! Inside is super cute and very Instagrammable. It's a good size restaurant, so we had no issue finding a seat. Service was quick and kind - we were served by one of the owners, the husband. Always nice seeing a super involved business owner! For food, I went with the quesabirria tacos and a side of rice and consomé. The tacos were delicious, and very filling. Two seemed to be a little too much, but I think I would've been disappointed had I just got one... The meat was tender, delicious, and had lots of flavor! There is a reason this place is called fire tacos... it's honestly one of the best birria taco places around! This chips and salsa are always a key indicator that you've found a good Mexican place. These chips are delish! So you know it's only going to get better from there! The queso birria tacos are a must order. Handmade corn tortillas, tasty birria, covered in cheese! Be sure to get a side of the consome. It's basically like a small broth that makes for the absolute best combo for dipping. We also got the open face taco (vampiro) and the mulitas. All variations of the birria taco honestly that you can't go wrong with because the flavors are on point. Another perk? The ambiance and location - It's right on the beach. So, you can enjoy tasty tacos while checking out the sunset! Food alone this place is a 5. However, I'm giving it a 4 star because service wasn't the best. They brought us out the wrong orders for our table and then had us all switch with each other after we started eating? It was weird but since the food was on point it we tried look past that. Fire is the best way to describe this joint! Everything we had was amazing. The ambiance was lit, loved the decor as well as the spray paint in the bathroom hallway and bathroom. We ordered the chips and salsa (green) to start. Both are homemade and unbelievably tasty and delicious. It's not your average Mexican restaurant chips and salsa. The chips are a little thicker and the salsa was blended nicely and was bright and fresh. Can't tell if it was creamy tomatillo or a avocado tomatillo but you'll see when you get it. Drinks- 1. I got the Jefe Margarita ($24.99). It comes in a patron bottle, thick slice of tajin covered grapefruit, tajin chamoy rim, and for the margarita mix I got a combo or mango and strawberry dragon fruit. This did not disappoint. I'm already wanting another one! 2. Strawberry aqua frescas-delicious, tangy, and spiked! Presentation was on point. 3. Strawberry mocktail margarita-sweet and yummy. 4. Mango mocktail margarita-sour Food- quesotacos were sooo good but needed way more salt. It was better when dipped in the consumme. The regular tacos, we got carnitas, come with a red tortilla, meat, and pico. I think the filling ratio to tortilla was small. The carnitas was flavored well. Quesadilla is extremely small. The the size of a regular taco tortilla folded in half and cost $5! Perfect for a kindergartener that has a small appetite. Dessert-churros were fresh but needed way more cinnamon sugar coating. Service- slow AF and very unorganized. No host at entrance and it looked like they were running around like a chicken with their heads cut off. Ok, a taco place in Seattle I might actually return to! Service was pleasant as soon as we walked in. Got a table by the windows. Ordered a few tacos and sides: Birria tacos, one of each meat: beef, goat, and lamb- All were delicious! Shredded, juicy meat topped with a bit of onion & cilantro. I was impressed that I could tell the difference between the goat and the lamb. The tacos were a decent size, but for around $5 or so each, they didn't quite have enough filling. My partner thought the tortillas were a bit too greasy. Overall these tasted great and I would get them again. Consommé- This was flavorful. I just wish it didn't cost extra (other places I've gone include the juice for the birria tacos). Chile verde taco- Very good, tons of flavor. I would get this again. Rice: Nicely seasoned, but mushy. Black beans: Eh, forgetful. We were given three salsas as condiments. The green one was bland but kinda tangy. The red one had a spice that builds... but I didn't like its flavor. The really spicy one in the oil with the spoon was nice when I added a few drops to my food, but not too flavorful. Overall the salsas were a bit underwhelming. So... I had a feeling this place might be overhyped when I walked in. Well, I still think it's too pricy for me to want to come back often. Heard a lot about these tacos when they were just a food truck in Kent so I was really excited to try their Alki restaurant. We tried several different tacos but was very underwhelmed with flavor. Pros: margaritas were good & shrimp tacos were the best taco of the night. Cons: meat was dry on the carnitas tacos, pollo taco was non-edible and the birria taco did not come with consume. We also ordered an appetizer, the chips & badazz sauce which is their house special sauce. This sauce was so thin it did not seem like it should be a dip for chips but a sauce for tacos so that's exactly what we used with a spoon to add some moisture to our dry tacos. Unfortunately I was spoiled with Tacontainer on Alki with fresh flavorful street tacos out of the black converted shipping container. The chips were unsalted, and the taco just wasn't good. The worst part about it is that their definition of a birria taco is entirely different than what you would normally expect. As a certified mexican sh!t talker I think their birria tacos are the best AROUND the area. But I think for the price it should come with "copia" DOUBLE TORTILLA. Came here as part of the yelp event but stayed for the delicious drinks and food! I was very impressed by the Birria taco. The combination of beef and cheese was a symphony in my mouth. The ambiance was fun and welcoming. The service was a bit slow at first but this is understandable when an establishment is as busy as this one was. Vegan review: I went here yesterday, 2/13 for their Tacos b4 Vatos Valentine's event. The place was decorum was so cute, especially the corner/wall that had roses hanging from the ceiling. They also had a valentine-themed menu with drinks and food. I looooooved the food! Oh my goodness! I ordered chips & salsa; the salsa has a specific name but I honestly forgot. :( Anywho, I also ordered the (3) veggie tacos, one with all veggies (mushrooms, potatoes, and a type of pepper) and the other two were without mushrooms. I actually didn't mind the mushrooms so I think next go-round, I will order my tacos with everything!!!!! The spice level was *chefs kiss* they know what they're doing!! The food was very filling, I should've ordered four 'cause they were THAT good. I did order a mango, spicy jalapeño margarita but it was tooooo spicy. They definitely leaves the seeds in hahaha not skimping you on bit. I decided to send it back for a regular, mango margarita (photoed) and that was more up my alley! For the table, we ordered some shots, I also forgot their name but they were rimmed deliciously and filled with pink starbursts vodka. DELICIOUS! I live close to Alki and did not know about this place. Thanks to a yelp event I got a chance to taste their delicious tacos. The Vampiro taco was loaded with meat and phenomenal flavors. If you want to elevate this taco try their mild and tad spicy salsas. For spice lovers, ask for their chilli oil and that is amazing (i love spicy food so it was really good for me). Add a dash of this spicy sauce to your taco and its going to be a party in your mouth. Their consome was also deliciously flavorful. I rarely find a well made beef stew and this was right up there as one of my favs. I will be coming back here as a regular to try other items on their menu. They have a huge indoor seating place and limited outdoor seating. If the word is out this place can get famous pretty soon and will be great competition to cactus restaurant around the corner. We had a fun experience getting take-out and eating at the beach. There are both indoor and outdoor (small tables) available. It was not busy on a chilly Saturday afternoon. He helped me pick a spread with different variety of meet, and told me about the history of birria and how it's commonly seen as a wedding food across mexico while I waited for the food. Favorites: I love all 3 types of birria meat (beef, lamb and goat! *Vampiro with beef birria + consome - crispy fried taco topped with juicy beef birria, yum! The consome has a few chunks of meat, and is not overly salty - you can almost drink it like a broth. *Taco with goat birria - my first time ever trying goat birria. After the first bite, I can absolutely see that this place specializes in birria. I didn't care for the mulita - too much tortilla for me. The spicy marinated pork (my favorite and go-to meat) was so disappointing, tough and didn't taste right. Overall, we had a satisfying meal. I ordered two tacos online from the restaurant delivered via DoorDash. One shrimp taco, and one birria taco. The batter on the shrimp was mushy and the shrimp was cold. The birria taco was very bland. I am familiar with birria and have found that the tortilla is usually fried in some of the fat from the Birria sauce with melted cheese. This taco arrived in a plain cold soft tortilla. I didn't eat the shrimp taco as it was very unappealing. I did eat the beef taco but it really had no flavor. Disappointed to say the least, and I doubt that I will be trying it again. This place has been on my radar for a while. Their truck in Kent has been getting rave reviews and I don't know if this place or the truck came first. I decided to come here as the truck only appears to serve Birria, which I don't care for. Based on previous yelp reviews. I intended to get a taco combo. That was two tacos with rice and beans, unfortunately, the menu has changed, and no combinations are offered. With that in mind, I decided to get a Carnitas burrito with a side of chips. The chips were warm and crisp, however the 3 hot sauces on the table didn't complement them well. All were zesty, but lacked rich warm flavor. The burrito was good, but not great. I like a juicy burrito, one that needs to be wrapped otherwise juice or grease drips out. This comes from juicy meat, fluffy rice, salsa or a little bean liquor. Unfortunately, this burrito was not juicy, I put the two red sauces on top, but as noted, the flavor just wasn't authentic. Service was pretty good and everyone was friendly, the food just didn't impress me. For sure better than a truck, but for a full-service restaurant, I've had much much better without the isolated drive. Don't let me discourage you from coming, but don't be shocked if you find it average. That said, I'd rather you experience it for yourself.
